Score from 10 reviews Wonderful
This hotel is close to everything we wanted to do in the downtown area. The breakfast in bed is a great touch!
This is such a lovely hotel-- tastefully decorated, spacious room with nice wooden floor, a mini fridge and a great coffee machine. (they also got tea!) wifi is fast. The location is awesome. Staffs are friendly and helpful. The hotel itself got a cool and comfy vibe. I will definitely go back and stay for longer if I visit Philly again.
because of its great location it can be noisy at night, but they got earplugs so it was fine for me.
Room was spacious. Personnel were nice. Security was good
Friendly staff, large size of bedroom, evening wine and cheese event. Just an all-around good experience.
Room was large enough to have another chair, but it only had one.
1) the location allows displacements walk to the several attractions. 2) The Hotel puts cheese and wine in the lobby to guests. This allows you to meet other people. We formed a group and went out to dinner together.
Should work a deal with parking lot across the street
Location was central to everything. Area was rather seedy.
had trouble with getting air conditioning to work. would shut off had to reset it. wasn't very efficient when it did work. Had to ask to get our sheets changed they were stain and dirty.
The staff was excellent, very friendly and informative. We met three of the concierges, there was always one at the desk. The room was lovely, very spacious, clean and well appointed, the fridge and microwave came in handy. The wine and cheese hour was wonderful, very nice array of snacks as well as wine, served in the lobby which feels more like a living room. We chatted with other guests and it added a lot to the stay. Breakfast was brought to the room at exactly the time requested. All in all it was the best stay I have ever had in Philadelphia, I am going to think of excuses to go there more often and I would ALWAYS stay at the Independent.
Location relative to buses/airport train Great restaurants nearby Great for tourist options
Hard to get a/c 'dialed in' for best comfort "included breakfast" underwhelming. Had hoped for buffet, not box of cereal delivered to room
everything cleanliness of rooms and staff were wonderful..small quaint hotel great district
Staff were very helpful Happy hour with wine and cheese Value was good
Wifi often needed reconnecting 1km+ walk to historic centre
The Staff, the location and the charm of this hotel will ensure our repeat business. All three are stellar!
Being on the 3rd fl corner unit, we experienced continual poor wifi strength.
very helpful staff . they had great ideas to have fun with teenagers.
Comfortable room, excellent staff - we'll be back
I liked the fact that it was a small hotel, so that one didn't feel caught in a crush of people. The location was perfect--a block from Avenue of the Arts, steps from great restaurants on 13th St., a wonderful restaurant right next to the hotel (Little Nonna's). It was surprisingly quiet for being so centrally located.
I would have appreciated a somewhat more commodious public area; it felt cramped and awkwardly laid out.
Great location from where we needed to be. Staff was friendly and we even had our room upgraded when we got there!
Wine and cheese hour, staff attitude - very friendly and helpful, lots of restaurants very close, great vibe.
Delivered breakfast was OK, but with no plates or tables was difficult to eat.
Lovely boutique hotel, friendly staff, beautiful decor. Liked everything about it.
Large beautiful room. Great location. Fabulous dining suggestions from the front desk staff!!
What a fabulous boutique hotel! I was pleasantly with the sheer size of our room (hard to tell with the pictures) and enjoyed the complementary breakfast. The hotel staff was wonderfully attentive and friendly. The location is in the heart of the city's "Gayborhood" so there are tons of shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. City Hall is a few blocks away as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Philly!
large room comfortable bed hot drinks in lobby microwave and fridge in room pleasant staff
freezing cold bathroom with no direct heat noise from adjacent elevator newspaper not delivered to room
Excellent, professional and personable staff. Fantastic location.
There were a few details that could have used some attention (room lamps with burned out light bulbs, etc.)
The staff went above and beyond. The room was incredibly comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay and look forward to coming again.
Staff friendly and accomodatimg. Clean and comfortable Well kept Fireplace and wine...a nice touch
