Stayed Monday through Wednesday and had a very relaxing time. Rooms are well appointed and quite comfortable; the bath/shower was lovely. I look forward to returning soon especially in the middle of the week!
I loved the little touches that the owners added. The breakfast was amazing. On Valentine's day they put chocolate covered strawberries and a card in our room. And my biggest love: it was clean.
Most of the issues I had are not easily fixed unless they want to renovate. First, I wish there would have been a temperature control for the room. The only way to cool it down was to open the window to the noisy street outside. Second, the bathroom and the bedroom were the same size. I get that it's not really fixable but it made for a difficult time with the luggage.
We enjoyed the terrace, and the location is very confortable to the city attractions.
Wifi connection to be improved in the rooms.
You are made to feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Rooms are nice, great view toward downtown Monterey (on 3rd floor).
We were brought into a room... Loved the set up, unpacked etc... 'Knock knock at the door' they had given us the wrong room :/. Had to pack and move down the hall. Nothing crazy/mistakes happen but when you're about to get in the shower ... Throws you off a little.
Staff were lovely, roof terrace was just wonderfull, breakfast was amazing, nice atmosphere, would definetely book again if in Monterey!
The roof top was very nice.
Shower didn't get hot, only warm.
For what we paid this place is ridiculous, tiny king bedroom, cramped and awkward, only around 18 inches of room at the foot of the bed. Room 205 should not be classified as a king room. Also the jet bath dis not work, we were very disappointed about this as it was one of the reasons we booked this place. Excessively overpriced for what it is!!
Fun boutique hotel with easy access to the wharf, restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly but still professional. The breakfasts (included) were fantastic and nice bar items at happy hour! Met some very interesting people while we were there and enjoyed our stay.
Very limited parking but street parking was close, don't try to park in the back lot unless you have a small car. Rooms a little small if you plan to stay more than a few days but very nicely done.
Too hot in the room. No air conditioning. It was torture
The staff were excellent and the food was fantastic. The afternoon social time with wine was fantastic. A very warm and friendly place to stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent and so was the food served at the rooftop bar. The staff was really helpful and very friendly. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The location was great we were able to easily walk to Fisherman's Wharf and the Aquarium.
The room did get a little stuffy and if you need to open a window there is a lot of street noise.
European style nice shower/bath tub breakfast was amazing!!!!!! very cute, romantic hotel
wifi didn't work beds were average not much table space
Liked the decor and the rooftop bar. Rooms were nice but small
I left some items in my room and asked to have them sent and they told me to send them a box with postage.
Cute boutique style Nice and clean Breakfast was amazing Roof terrace was awesome Staff friendly but not intrusive
Parking a nightmare Rooms on smaller side Exterior was blah and the surrounded buildings are very run down or derelict. No coffee facilities in room
Rooms were really clean, great space, usually decorated. The outside doesn't do the inside justice! Inside was so lovely and different. Roof top terrace was amazing, we got a free drink during 'happy hour'. Breakfast was superb. Staff were brilliant. Recommend!
DVD player in our room didn't work. Staff tried to find and other player with no success. Was close to a main road so was a bit noisy. Electric pylon were really noisy too so couldn't leave a window open. There isn't any aircon in the rooms so it got really hot during the night. As lovely as the breakfast was, we weren't told what was coming or given any choice, it was just served to us.
Rooftop bar is awesome. Staff helpful. Breakfast are very good and included.
Rooms a bit cramped.
Rooftop lounge- first two drinks complimentary, beach is walking distance, a few miles from aquarium, a minute drive from the two piers, no parking fee since there's no hotel designated parking spaces, only age 18+ (no children), complimentary breakfast.
No AC, no hotel parking available
Lovely shower, nice staff, breakfast was fine
This was the most expensive hotel on our holiday. Room very small - no room for suitcases -would have been cramped for one person let alone two. No tea/ coffee making facilities or even water glasses which you would expect considering the price of the room. Feel utterley ripped off
The hotel was really comfortable and right by the ocean. the terrace on top of the hotel is lovely. Very friendly innkeeper that served us some wonderful breakfast.
The room was a bit small. There was a really weak wifi signal in our room
Honestly, there's so much to say about this hotel. We're travelling down route 1 so we've done a few, but if you want a European style boutique hotel in the heart of Monterey then go here.. The owner is incredibly lovely, there's a free drink at happy hour, the young man at breakfast was a dream, the room was so amazing. Actually just go and see for yourself, there's no downside.
There were no cups in the room, my partner got ill so I had to go and find them at 1am. No big deal, had the reception been open, she would have been happy to help.
Don't be fooled. Behind it's (very) unassuming exterior Hotel 1110 is bonafide treat. Sure it's set right on Del Monte and, if you're travelling in from the north, you're hardly in Monterey before it quietly waves at you from the side of the road, but this is a gem. Overflowing with personality its a genuine boutique, cramming as much character into its modest three floors as possible. It might not be how you'd deck out the family homestead (although Tina Turner prints above the bed should surely be a staple in all homes), but for charm it far outstrips the bigger hitters it's competing with. All of which is background to its three big wins - firstly the food, from bar side nibbles to the breakfast (which changed every day) the food was uniformly great. Secondly the rooftop bar. By far the best bar we found in Monterey this sleek little space deserves to be a destination in its own right. With a free happy hour drink for guests (from a nice selection of beers and wine) to the Smoked Artichoke Martini it's an excellent bar experience. Thirdly and above all - the incredibly friendly and helpful staff all of whom provided as perfect a welcome as you could hope for. Special mention also for Michael Calabrese. Nothing to do with the hotel (I don't think), but patron of Salon Park Ave round the corner. Think Tony Stark with hair scissors. Don't know what he's like with hair, but if he's half as good as he is charming, helpful and friendly then that would be one damn fine haircut. Overall excellent.
Entirely selfishly the rooftop bar could have been open later (it would have been a lovely nightcap spot), but I feel like an ungrateful child mentioning it. In the interests of being even handed traffic noise could be a problem if you were a really light sleeper and the rooms weren't air conditioned - neither of which negatively effected our stay though.
Breakfast Roof terrace. Jacuzzi in room you can borrow dvds towatch
The Rooftop is awesome! Nice owners and people working there! Super sweet. Owner made an effort on breakfast, to be fancy and yummy. We enjoyed the mornings.
The feel of the Hotel or B&B was a bit of 'steam punk meets a little burlesque' feel. It's centrally located which is good, but the building is weird. Not a typical mainstream B&B. Weird building, with lots of upgrades. So hard to describe. Fun for one night. The room we had was loud, no air conditioning, but we made it work.
It was so beautiful. The view from the roof was excellent. We watched the seals feeding from the roof. The breakfast was superb! I would stay again and recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Make sure to request a fan for your room. A.C. is not common in Monterey. The weather is so nice there most people just open their windows. It can get hot if you are not comfortable with leaving your windows open.
Lovely home cooked breakfasts, good location for tourist areas. Rooftop bar with great views.
I agree with other comments about the lack of air con also the rooms, while furnished and functional, are quite small.
