The Inn at El Gaucho  

Only thing good about the place was the location. Easy walking distance to everything.

No elevator. Having to climb two flights of stairs to come in and out. Taxes on extras things that didn't make since. The place was to expensive and not worth the price.

We wanted to stay in the center of Seattle downtown area so we could walk to the sites we were interested in. This facility was perfect and within walking distance of most of the major attractions. For breakfast there was a nice little deli just a half block from the hotel and up the street one block and around the corner was a Subway.The room was decorated in a upscale decor. The staff was excellent. There were only 15 rooms in this hotel and they were all above a high end restaurant.

The only issue we had was our room overlooked the harbour and for some reason it was noisy at times. If we had requested an inner room I am sure it would have been quieter. Also, the ac and heater was controlled by a remote controller. It would have been nice if we would have received instructions on how to use it upon arrival. We had to call the staff to come to our room and show us where the controller was and how to use it. They came immediately and gave excellent instructions.

Liked the location in Seattle, within walking distance of the Market and the cruise ship pier.

There was no elevator...had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to registration/room.

It was a lovely hotel. The room was very old charm.The staff were friendly and helpful. They also had complimentary drinks in the lobby at 5pm til 7pm.

They don't have a lift so found the stairs tiresome, 2 flights each time you left and came back.I Would have also liked to have had breakfast included.

We loved everything! The staff was so sweet and had everything ready for us including fresh cookies and a hand written thank you note. The lobby is cozy and a great space to just relax. The rooms are very Europe- like reminded me of Paris. The seating area within the room was very comfortable and really made you feel like u could relax in your own space. The location is perfect - the staff was knowledgeable and didn't bat an eye at my wife and I (we have had some previous issues with acceptance as we are lesbians) and they used Mrs. When referring to us which earned major brownie points. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud so comfortable (we even took a picture of the tag so we can shop for one like it!) Also within the room there was a keurig coffee maker and Bose radio - which was playing beautiful classical music on our arrival. We loved every bit of our stay! The cab ride from sea-tac was just under $40 and the light rail was within walking distance as well!

No elevator - although great exercise my thighs were hating life due to my heavy suitcase! So it's really more of a double negative... A positive!

The staff was wonderful on arrival we were there a few hours early and thy held our bags while we went shopping down in pikes market place. When we went back they had our bags in our room and has music playing from the Bose radio, they had hand written thank you notes and fresh cookies in the room. The lobby was cute and always had a fire going making it seem very cozy and homey. The bed was incredibly comfortable. They also had a wine tasting in the lobby with fantastic wine. The location is perfect; we were able to explore quite a bit of Seattle on foot as they are almost exactly in the middle of the space needle and pikes market place. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but overall it was the perfect place to stay!

No elevator. It's good for my heart but my thighs were not happy climbing with suitcases.

Great room, fantastic size, nice decor. The bed was comfortable (too many pillows...but we removed those). They had a lovely hand written message for us when we arrived and freshly made cookies. It was a real treat!

The whole hotel smells like cooked meat due to the restaurant below. It's not as bad in the bedrooms, but the corridors smelt of cooking, which wasn't pleasant to walk through. A minor thing. The hotel was pretty good overall.

We liked the spaciousness of the room, and the helpfulness of the staff.

Charging too much for parking (we parked curbside to avoid what we considered to be high charges for Seattle)

The staff was very pleasant, polite and quick to help in any way. Loved the free cookies, they were delicious. Walking distance to the Clipper and restaurants. The view of the water.

Convinient walking distance to shops and good restaurants.

Aside from there being no elevator, the facility was great.

Great value in excellent location on First Avenue near lots of great restaurants and clubs. Room was furnished very nice with great bed.

Great staff, really friendly and helpful. Super comfy bed and lovely room - very big and nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and great bathroom. The hotel is also in a great location, walking distance to downtown but very quiet. Totally recommend this place!!

What a wonderful find El Gaucho turned out to be! My boyfriend and I visited Seattle with three other couples -- we all booked separate hotels and the others were so envious of our lucky choice when we showed them our room! The rooms are lovely -- vintage Hollywood colours, shades of tobacco and ochre that GLOW in the grey light of Seattle. Each room has a cozy sitting area that prevents it from feeling centered around the bed alone and the bathrooms are beautifully tiled in milky, vintage seeming tiles. The lobby is warm and quiet -- no elevator access and only 17 suites give it a secret feeling and it smells, most charmingly, like toasty butter! (There is a neighborhood theatre downstairs). The staff is fantastic. El Gaucho alone will prompt my friends and I to visit Seattle more regularly. WE LOVE IT!

It was wonderfully quaint with excellent staff. Very clean and the rooms were nice and comfortable. It was in a perfect location for walking the city of Seattle.

Stair only access and remote parking

Lovely comfortable rooms. Caring staff. Cozy feeling of the whole hotel. Matresses. Bar menu and bar dining area. Happy hour. Location good for shopping, eating etc. We were walking from ferry with back packs and it was perfect for that.

Price of dining room menu. More than we would ever pay for a dinner. But the bar menu certainly delighted us so we were happy. However, no one at the hotel told us about that. We happened upon a city dweller entering an apartment house on the sidewalk and asked her advice on where to eat and she suggested it.

Perfect location, past that nothing.

Staff was more interested in surfing the web than interaction. Towels were frayed and thin. Rooms are on second floor next to busy street, so quite noisey. No soap for sink, asked 3 times, 3 different days and people. Soap dispensers in shower worked poorly.
