Cozy Room and friendly staff coupled with a delicious breakfast and close proximity to Mt. Snow make this a great place to stay. We'll be back for sure!
Big, clean room in a great location. Charming atmosphere
Walkways were slippery in the morning, took way too long to sand and salt.
Food was good, nothing special, but all things considered the good was very good. Staff was very friendly. Place was clean and has a very nice comfort to it
Clearly an elephant slept in my bed for a month or so. One side had a deep hole that sucked you in and you had to climb back out. Very difficult to sleep...
Uniquely interesting interiors
There was noisy equipment directly above the Suite.
We visited the Inn for the first time in 1991, and had always in mind to come back. And we did this year, with the kids. Vermont is beautiful and very kind, and this hotel is an outstanding example of what you can find in the state. Staff is very helpful and very kind, muck unlike New York where we were before. Surroundings beautiful. In short, very well recommended.
Maybe a bit outdated furnishing in the hotel. Breakfast could have offered a bit more options.
The inn had a wonderful fireplace which made people want to sit around, relax, and talk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone, meaning guests and staff, seemed happy. It had a very nice atmosphere.
Well preserved old building. Clean big rooms
the ambiance was very nice breakfast was excellent the staff was very helpful
The dining area was a little chilly because of all the windows that allow you to see the gorgeous scenery.
Lovely cottage with great bed and comfortable sitting area and fireplace. Very friendly staff!
Cottage needs coffee/hot water maker for drinks and a few amenities (bottle opener, etc.)
The room and hotel were lovely with the decoration and antiques and wood carvings. It was a really pretty hotel.
Not sure about the wall paper in the room as it was a bit much. More reliable and faster wi fi would be helpful
Wonderful old house with several lounges for relaxation and nice grounds for a walk.
Inn at Sawmill Farm provided perfect respite from working in the city. It serves up perfect VT ambiance with a roaring fireplace, tranquil views and scrumptious food at Nonna's. The neighborhood in back of the inn turned out to be an incredible jogging track with winding hills. Do watch out for the herd of deer jumping pasture fences if you go in the evening. Wonderful sight and lovely stay. Thank you.
Hearing my neighbors in their rooms. It is a former barn so this unexpectedly added a new twist to the charm.
Everything. We did, however, book this inn for a stay between Quebec and Salem. We travelled a long way out of our way. But everything was so good it didn't matter. We arrived late but Nonna's fed us well. The staff are exceptional, the suites are large and comfortable. Great cooked breakfast included and the drive back through the prettiest countryside was wonderful.
Just that we were late getting in because of a miscalculation on our part.
Everything! Is was a real joy staying in this lovely en beautiful Inn. Breakfast, the rooms, the king size bed, the garden, the people. Great!
In the beginning it was a bit chilly.
Helpfulness of staff when we encounter them. The lovely character of the building enhanced by decor and log fire. The location in wonderful land with lakes and woods.
The lack of staff at breakfast particularly. Unable to pick up on customer needs. They tried their best but it wasn't a good experience for the customer. It was cold (mid October) in communal areas including dinning room so dinner and breakfast experience was not so good.
Location- gorgeous town nearby anything you would want or need, decor of the inn was breathtaking, every inch decorated so intricately with antiques with a relaxing and tranquil sitting area by the fire place, in house restaurant with rustic New England feel and wide pine floors, separate library full of old books and puzzles and magazines, beautiful artwork, landscaping, rooms are large and very clean, absolutely perfect
the slow life and comfort with a friendly honest staff. The meals were good but a bit pricey for some,oh well price of the stay was modest!
no safety rails near tub in the room we used, should be some in my opinion .
We spent six wonderful days & five nights of the best sleep I've had in yrs at the Inn...The beauty of the the grounds are second to none as my Face Book friends can't believe my photos weren't purchased...We felt we had the Inn to ourselves while we sat next to our fire in Cider House #3...We had a great tour of the Inn by Angel & made friends with the two chambermaids...Bonnie gave us quite a bit of history of the Inn which is our 'thing'...We spent a little time in the library everyday & the area that overlooks the main room which we had to ourselves...Kathleen was our breakfast server & we enjoyed her company...We really had no encounters with anyone else which was fine with us....We enjoyed our dinner at Nonna's & enjoyed our visit with two local gentleman very much...During the day we went to the close towns....Bennington to the Revolutionary War monument & museum which were great...an amazing Art Festival in Manchester & dining, shopping & taking in the views from everywhere...The beds & bedding were perfection...We definitely will be back....
The only suggestion I would have for the Inn would to repaint the common areas of the Inn that are green & rather dark & a little depressing to a cream or light tan....
breakfast was good
one day breakfast ended at 9 sharp. the next day it didn't start until 8am. service was gruff.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with very nice old furniture Location is good too Good breakfast Restaurant was good a bit expensive though You can walk to other restaurants not far from the hotel
Some people at the hotel were not very nice or relaxed I must say The noise in the bathroom
the quietness, the privacy, the personal attention
It was the first time that we stayed at The Inn at Sawmill but we will definitely return. The dinner at Nonna's was very good. We did not know what to expect and we're pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and nice wine list. The service was good as well.
Food in restaurant was not good.
The people were very accomodating and the accomodations were very neat and clean. The place had a lot of character.
Strange feeling to be the only two people in the big building for the entire night. We did enjoy the experience and would revisit the location.
The room looked elegant and cozy, common spaces were very well restored.
TV set was not working. It was impossible to darken the room and the sun waked us at 6 am. The door of the washbasin room was missing.
