Well situated in the great neighbourhood of Chelsea, we arrived and found a real home from home. Loved the use of the fridge, ice buckets, the honesty bar and overall laid back attitude. The room was big for any city, let alone NYC and ours was decorated in wonderful asiana style - I understand every room is quite different. Very comfortable stay in a new favourite hotel - have already made one recommendation and will definitely tell more people.
We visited in a mild summer, but the room was very hot. There appeared to be adequate heating products to cope with a cold New York winter, but we felt that the air con could have benefited with modernisation. Was very noisy to run whilst trying to sleep at night. That is all though.
Everything. Staff is quite wonderful.
The staff was so friendly and had excellent recommendations! The bagels were delicious too. Fantastic location!
The price and location.
My room didn't have WiFi.
room design, location, athmosphere
If I had to be picky: AC unit a bit noisy.
Having stayed in every hotel in the neighborhood, this was the most pleasant experience I have. The rooms are colossal by NYC standards and the staff was lovely. I also really appreciated having the library. I was surprised at how often I wanted to be able to leave my room, grab a cup of tea and read or work someplace that wasn't "out".
Size of the room was great! Bed was very comfortable. Location was perfect.
A great hotel well situated towards downtown in New York. Easy access to the subway; to main sights and to restaurants and bars, this is a hotel we will definitely visit again
Our street facing room was quite noisy, due mainly to a city that never sleeps!
good hotel but not for 9
doesn't have 24h front desk
The lobby was very comfy
The bathroom could use an update
This is a place like home away from home! You want a drink or a soda you get it and if there is no one to charge you for it there is an IOU or a cup to put the money based on an honor system that works!!! People will help you at any time of the day with a smile like Jennifer helped us im printing our tickets late at night. I felt truly at home and cared for as a valued customer. Also, inevitably you fall in love with Dorothy.
Location The great food Breakfast and the evening wine and cheese.
We loved the Inn, the staff, the beautiful room with all needed amenities, the library to hang out and enjoy a solid breakfast. This will be our place to stay when needed.
Very-very good place! Second place in my own NYC hotel chart! Great location; Stylish theme rooms; Common living room on the second floor with free cookies and tea 24/7! Very helpful and friendly staff. Warm rooms - great for winter visiting!
Actually nothing! Great place for little money!
Location, spacious rooms, good price for location
has old fashioned console TVs, radiator heat, window ACs, no room service, uses old fashioned keys. Too old fashioned for its own good.
The laid back feel of the hotel and the friendliness of all the staff.
The ambience is very welcoming. The connected restaurant is excellent.
Perhaps it was just my room----I was terribly cold. They have a portable heater but the room is large and it really did not do the job adequately. In milder weather though I would always choose to stay at the Inn.
Warm, friendly, huge rooms -- like staying with your favorite aunt!
LOVED staying at the Inn on 23rd! The staff was incredibly helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Our room was so cute and cozy. We loved the simple things, like the umbrellas by the front door when it was snowing/raining one evening. Highly recommend this B&B!
Loved our short stay here. Great location and charming inn - more like staying in a home than a hotel, which is especially hard to come by in New York. We had large, comfortable room on the main floor. Friendly staff (and friendly cat!), cozy breakfast room. We liked the bar downstairs as well. We will definitely come back here another time.
Bedding could use an upgrade, eg feather vs foam pillows would be nicer. Wish coffee was available early in the morning for those who need to leave early for business meeting or whatever. Tea is OK but not the same.
Very cozy! A lovely cat. Felt like staying in grandma's place.
The rooms and the staff were excellent. When I asked to change rooms to a quieter location (5th floor) the request was granted the next day.
On the second floor, where we first stayed, the noise from the restaurant was unbearable until about midnight. Anyone who stays here should stay as high as possible, in the back.
Annette and her team are fantastic. Really friendly atmosphere in a quirky setting. Loved the location...very central for getting about and already miss Dorothy the cat.
When it was time to leave!
Location, Furniture, Employees, Breakfast and of course the famous Dorothy the cat
HVAC it's too much hot or too much cold and noise from the street....the insulation of the windows is terrible!!!
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great location and access to public transportation. The Inn is private but offered a sense of community that you don't normally get at a hotel.
Skylight was lovely but there was no window to look outside from my top floor room.
