The owners are fab, really helpful & friendly. Breakfasts are amazing. There are loads of quirky Lewis carol pieces in the house to give it a nice theme. Rooms are old but maintained very well so have lots of character. Close to town.

Gorgeous unusual house, friendly new owners, nibbles, wine and great breakfast, complimentary drinks fridge in hall, social and relaxed atmosphere, lots of games, puzzles and things to explore, gorgeous views, totally in love with the jabberwock!

I didn't like the fact that we had to leave!

From our arrival and a great welcome to the early evening drinks and canapés with other guests this is the high lite of our trip. A stunning property run by the nicest of families who genuinely try to exceed your expectations and succeed at every level. Comfortable well appointed rooms, spacious public spaces, and yes the slightly quirky "Jaberwock" theme make this place a delight. Centrally located just 5 minutes walk to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. Oh, and a breakfast to die for. We stayed for only two nights but wished it was longer this place is a must, ignore the chain hotels that abound and stay here.

Nothing to dislike it was perfect

Great atmosphere, most friendly staff, awesome breakfast.

There is no tv and it seems like there was no bathroom in the room so they made an arrengement to fit a shower and a toilet there. It is not great, but definitelly not bad enough to prevent anybody from staying there.

Always wonderful to stay at a place that has interesting guests. Jabberwock obviously attracts a diverse clientele, very enjoyable.

No reading material on it's history.

The Jabberwock is kept by extremely friendly and hospitable people. It is superbly located, near the ocean and the centre of Monterey, yet in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Breakfast and afternoon snacks were of excellent quality and taste. We would love to come back here and would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting this area!

What a great find! It was 3-4 blks from Cannery Row. The garden that surrounds the B & B is so peaceful! The views of the Monterey bay are spectacular! The hospitality was fantastic and the food - YUM! Next time I go to Monterey, The Jabberwock will be my home!

Southern hospitality on the west coast. This place is beautifully appointed and immaculate. The hosts are fabulous. Being taken over by a new couple who are as warm and friendly as the present ones. Wine and homeade appetizers around 5 o'clock. Cookies, coffe, tea always available. They go out of their way to recommend places and make reservations for you. Many sitting areas. Highly recommend staying on second floor. Rooms are much larger.

Wi-fi service was poor. We stayed on third floor. Much smaller than second. Personally we struggled with the sleep number bed.

The casual but sincere friendliness of the owners and their guests.Everyone treated you like an old friend. There was an old-world charm about the place and the bed was so comfortable that we didn't want to get up on the morning! The breakfasts were to die for and the little extras, like cocktail hour, were such an unusual but very welcome addition to a wonderful stay. We would recommend the Jabberwock to anyone without hesitation!

Our stay at Jabberwock was very relaxing and Dawn and John couldn't have been more welcoming. Every little touch from having drinks and snacks available constantly to the hors d'oevres and brilliant breakfasts was a pleasure. They even find restaurants for you according to what type of food you fancy. The house was absolutely charming and it was good to be able to chat with the other guests as well as our hosts.

    Can't think of anything!

What a wonderful find! Dawn and John were delightful hosts the entire time I was there. They even went above and beyond offering a quick breakfast selection before an early half marathon run. And I returned to a full breakfast. The facilities are comfortable and cozy with sleep number beds. The place is themed after Through the Looking Glass - which I found charming. The common area is warm and comfortable. They had some guests staying who have frequented the place many times. I look forward to a future stay.
