This is a fun place to stay. Excellent location in the hart of the gaslamp quater. Expect some noice therfore, but the room (PH D) I was in no problem at all. Large modern and well equipped room. The bed is comfy and the shower is great! Lot of fun watching the crowd in the street go wild (there are numerous windows). Top!
The only disappointment is a very limited breakfast. Luckely, Cafe 21 is around the corner and they have an excellent breakfast.
Decor. Location. Staff. Integrated modern with the vintage! Awesome!
Great location, friendly staff
For a 4* hotel and price I expect a working gym, the breakfast area not to run out of yogurt, and someone to be available to bring extra silverware. So while the location was great and sleep was good (had room facing into the courtyard, so quiet) I am a bit disappointed.
Modern Italian furnishings Cleanliness Excellent staff Hard surface floors
The location in the Gas Lamp District is very convenient to public transportation, hundreds of restaurants, shopping, and the convention center. Although the hotel sits on a busy corner with active nightlife, my room was quiet and the cushy bed sailed me to dreamland. Italian design makes for thoughtful, sleek interiors behind the historical façade. Espresso/tea in the room was a treat, and the ample continental breakfast with yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries plus all sorts of coffee drinks was a great start to the day.
Task lighting could be improved. My room did not have a light switch near the bed.
Our suite was spacious, unique and tastefully decorated. After long days of sightseeing we looked forward to coming back to a comfortable space. The staff was very helpful!
The room, location, service ...it was awesome
Valet Parking and the cost of the overnight valet!!!
Initially location. But the staff was rude. Put 150 hold on my credit card above the 150 charged. And when I questioned it, the staff treated me rudely.
Noisy ALL night. Windows were not soundproof. Horrible nights sleep
very loud music unexpected charges
Location, Italian taste equipments, Espresso machine in room is very nice.
Very poor breakfast, Annoying voices from the street in mid night.
Location, TV, Cleanliness, Size of room, Value for the money
A little noisy at night
Heart of gaslamp
I do like very much the room it has very comfortable bed.shower was very powerful and nice.
Only I think that there is something has to be done for the carpet between the rooms,it has very strong smell.
shower, the espresso machine, the loft feel of the entire room really!
the noisy bar underneath
Beautiful room! Great price.
There was a glop of hair even before I turned in the water it was disgusting. I think it may be haunted. I was promised the Imperial suite bc I booked on Bookinng.com but I didn't get the room I ordered.
Great Location with comfy beds and ton of amenities
Some hidden fees upon checkout
The carpets etc were very dirty when we arrived. The wifi didn't worked at all and the worst part was the night. The hotel is in the middle of the party centre and you can here everything through the windows. If you want to make party it's ok, but if not stay away.
Enjoyed my stay will most likely stay here again!
The restroom smelled a little weird. But other wise stay was great!
Location was great... Staff was friendly... Shower was great...
We didn't get the room we booked... picture of the room we received in our email was different than the one we actually got... the one we got was much smaller... there were little pellets all over the bed... was praying it wasn't rat poop... we thankfully didn't see any rats! This is not a good place for young kids... We knew it would be noisey at times BUT having to deal with incredibly loud music from some of the hotel rooms at 4 A.M. wasn't fun... We did notify the staff and the music did eventualy subside but it was crazy having to even deal with it. Overall, we wouldn't recommend staying in the heart of gaslamp with kids...
The staff here is very friendly and on top of all issues; nice walk to San Diego Convention Center; right in the heart of Gas Lamp District; rooms are clean
The 7 AM continental breakfast is too late for most business travelers; lack of on site dining/room service a bit of a drawback; the gym is off site as well but a nice facility
I loved the jacuzzi tub!!! Relaxing in the tub with some music felt awesome. The room was beautiful with all the decor and the location of the room was on the corner of 5th and F. Very central in the heart of the gaslamp. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend The Keating!
There's nothing I didn't like about this place!
Great contemporary hotel. The shower was incredible.
Novelties like the expresso machine (once you learned how to use it), artesan water from Norway, channel variety on HTV.
I waited 30 min after I checked in for someone to come to my room and explain the amenities then had to leave for the Convention Center. But someone gave me an orientation upon my return the next day.
Hospitality, comfort, modern amenities. Helpful and friendly staff.
Parking was expensive. When we arrived, staircase was filthy, but staff was on it about an hour after we checked in.
The breakfast was very light.
