Location, nice design
Small things like no black tee, remote control is not working properly, no hot water on one day, can't do overnight laundry. Overall I'm not sure if it was worth the money.
Design , price and comfort.
Extra fee for parking.
Staff was great and even offered me a glass of champagne when I checked in! Fantastic hotel stay- double thumbs up!
My fiancé and I were very impressed with this hotel and we would absolutely stay here again. The room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. They offered private parking in a secure garage. The room and hotel was very clean and modern. The room also had an iPod dock and coffee maker. We also liked that this hotel was located in the Gaslamp District, which made finding good restaurants easy; and there were plenty within walking distance. We also went out on a Friday night and found that this area has an active night life, which made for a fun night out listening to live music. Lastly, while in San Diego, we visited the zoo which was a short walk from the hotel to the bus stop and a short ride on the bus to the zoo.
1. Elegant 2. Cool attitude 3. Great restaurant in same bldg. 4. Great espresso machines in each room 5. Great location
1. WiFi did not work for my smartphone or for my laptop... I had to use an ethernet connection in the business ctr. 2. Across street from multiple bars where drunken people were very LOUD after MIDNIGHT to closing... if you can sleep through that, then fine, it just adds to the location... if not, don't stay there
Excellent location, love the shower, the exterior of the building is beautiful, nice gesture to offer a glass of campaign at check-in
Our room was small, little natural light, concrete floor with no rug, walls and floor very mono-chromatic (gray and white), felt very closed in
Loved location and design of property.
Plumbing was loud and disruptive at night. Street noise and music penetrated room at night.
Shabby. Terrible room layout. Terrible design. Noisy. View of the air conditioning unit. A horizontal hotel from hell.
Location was great, staff were great and it was a very hip cool hotel.
There was a bar next door which was playing really loud 'doof doof' music and I could even hear it loudly through my ear plugs
This hotel is located in the best spot to visit the San Diego Convention Center and for sightseeing spots.
I booked with twin-bed room, but stayed in king-bed room.
The design The comfort The situation in the Gaslamp Quarter The equipment of the penthouse The modernism
We loved the location. We were only a short cab ride at the most from where we wanted to be. Loved the nightlife of the gaslamp district and all could've easily walked. Lots of good coffee shops to be found.
For more mature visitors the ultra modern shower was a bit hard to use but if in less than good condition could well be an obstacle.
Even though it started out bumpy because of a snafu with my reservation charges, it all got smoothed out. Great customer service, the staff went above and beyond. I was here on business so the location was perfect. It is within walking distance to the convention center and to all the restaurants and events. With it being in the heart of the night life they even provide ear plugs and you can draw the shades for complete darkness allowing me to get some great sleep. The bed and duvet were amazing and reminded me of my trips to Europe. The waterfall shower was fun although the temp of the water could have been warmer for my liking. I’d say it was a wonderful experience over all.
The staff was so incredibly accommodating. Sheldon is the man! His knowledge of local food is second to none. If you are not from the area, don't worry, they will keep you on the right track. You'll know just where to go and how to get there after talking to the fantastic staff. The hotel is located in the heart of the party district(glass lamp) but you'd never know it once inside your room. The windows drown out 99% of the noise from the street. The rooms are great for couples but, I would not bring children. All in all, we had a fabulous time and would absolutely stay there again.
The couches in the living room were not made for comfort. More for entertaining. Sitting around and watching TV is pretty much limited to the bedroom.
Location and style.
Final price almost $200 more than quoted on booking.com
The keating had totally unique rooms and an amazing staff! My husband and I loved our time at the hotel. Our room was exactly as pictured online with an espresso machine, rainfall shower with glass walls, contemporary furnishings, and the hotel was in an awesome location. I would definitely stay there again!
It was a bit noisy at night due to the old windows with poor sound insulation. Also, the fitness center was under construction, so that was a bit of a bummer.
This is a fun place to stay. Excellent location in the hart of the gaslamp quater. Expect some noice therfore, but the room (PH D) I was in no problem at all. Large modern and well equipped room. The bed is comfy and the shower is great! Lot of fun watching the crowd in the street go wild (there are numerous windows). Top!
The only disappointment is a very limited breakfast. Luckely, Cafe 21 is around the corner and they have an excellent breakfast.
Decor. Location. Staff. Integrated modern with the vintage! Awesome!
Great location, friendly staff
For a 4* hotel and price I expect a working gym, the breakfast area not to run out of yogurt, and someone to be available to bring extra silverware. So while the location was great and sleep was good (had room facing into the courtyard, so quiet) I am a bit disappointed.
Modern Italian furnishings Cleanliness Excellent staff Hard surface floors
The location in the Gas Lamp District is very convenient to public transportation, hundreds of restaurants, shopping, and the convention center. Although the hotel sits on a busy corner with active nightlife, my room was quiet and the cushy bed sailed me to dreamland. Italian design makes for thoughtful, sleek interiors behind the historical façade. Espresso/tea in the room was a treat, and the ample continental breakfast with yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries plus all sorts of coffee drinks was a great start to the day.
Task lighting could be improved. My room did not have a light switch near the bed.
Our suite was spacious, unique and tastefully decorated. After long days of sightseeing we looked forward to coming back to a comfortable space. The staff was very helpful!
The room, location, service ...it was awesome
Valet Parking and the cost of the overnight valet!!!
Initially location. But the staff was rude. Put 150 hold on my credit card above the 150 charged. And when I questioned it, the staff treated me rudely.
Noisy ALL night. Windows were not soundproof. Horrible nights sleep
very loud music unexpected charges
