The decoration and the cousy environment
thr breakfast was above and beyond expectation. Loved the decor.
Returning a second time ! Felt like I was going home. Super comfortable love decor, food, people.
I wish there were more quaint establishments surrounding the hotel, it was alone in its quaintness
So modern and quaint at the same time!
The hotel is very clean and sleep quality was excellent with a very comfortable bed and a quiet room. The people who work at the hotel are very friendly and always helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The scrambled eggs, bacon, juice, coffee, yogurt, dates, fruit, etc. are all of high quality and not the mass produced factory made food you get at the big chain hotels. While eating breakfast in the Black Sheep dining area you feel like you have been transported to London or Paris or Beijing. Hotel guests come from all over the world. The area around the hotel is very safe and one can walk around MIT or along the Charles River, which is just a couple of blocks away. The Red line for the T is less than a block away and will transport you to anywhere you want to go in Cambridge or Boston. Harvard is just two stops from Kendall Square. You can get to anywhere in Boston, including Logan Airport, with just one transfer. Traveling is meant to be an experience that takes you out of your daily routine. The Kendall Hotel staff does that for you in a safe, comfortable and enjoyable manner, that also makes you and your traveling companion(s) feel special.
Some tired and slightly dismissive front desk interactions in the evening...but overall the staff were positive and helpful.
I love the quirky nature of the hotel -- the rooms, the lobby, etc. -- and the location. The hotel is beautiful, and very comfortable. The restaurant (the Black Sheep) is outstanding!!
The internet was sporadic due to too many users, wifi booster in room did not work, water was cold in the shower the second morning.
Very nice small hotel providing old-fashioned inn experience, a nice contrast to the high intensity surrounding of MIT, Google, Novartis etc
The location of the hotel is wonderful to visit MIT.
Great base for visiting son at MIT. Clean and comfortable with great old world charm and very modern amenities. Free breakfast buffet had good food and variety.
Had to stay an extra night because my flight was cancelled and was charged a higher rate. The Internet was a little unreliable and sometimes lost the connection, even when using direct Ethernet connection. Ordered taxi which was very late or may even not have come at all. Took a taxi that was just cruising by instead. Hotel staff didn't want to follow up with the company to check status of my ride to the airport
The homely atmosphere. The smaller size. The large room. The wonderful restaurant. The friendly staff. The great location near many restaurants and a very short walk to MIT

Nothing, very enjoyable visit
Clean, unique, right across street from transit red line allowing easy access in and out of Boston
Very relaxing atmosphere near MIT. Great breakfast.
We left our iPad and after a quick phone call it was found and put in a safe place for our retrieval.
Great Breakfast; Unique Decor; Amazing Staff coping skills as snow totals hit 90+ inches.
professional, yet charming amazing breakfast Really great people
No desk for working at night...
Location, cleanliness, convenient to subway.
On this last trip the room was quite warm and difficult to cool down. Shower wasn't very hot even during non peak times.
We like everything about the Kendall and are disappointed if we can't get a room there.
There's not much to complain about here! The entry to the garage is a bit tight for those with big vehicles...
The Kendall is a cozy, welcoming hotel that provides good value, and a very accessible location for the Boston area traveller. Other pluses are the tasty breakfasts, and a very friendly and helpful staff!
The weather. Cold
Room decorations, the helpfulness of the staff (they were brilliant) and sense of being looked after.
The one elevator is always busy so time is lost waiting for it. The call button on the 3rd floor only seemed to work sometimes. An annoying factor.
We stay there often because it is close to family. My grandchildren join us for breakfast and it makes one of our nicest memories. The breakfast staff are kind and accommodating, friendly and warm to us and the children.
Great location, close to Harvard and T station for access to Downtown. Quirky hotel finished to a high standard, which was a welcome change to large chain hotels. Good breakfast
My husband and I, in town for a romantic overnight in the city, liked the eclectic decor, comfortable bed, substantial breakfast. The location in Kendall Square was perfect.
Room was a little hot/stuffy. We opened the windows to help that. If we'd been short people, the very high bed might have presented an accessibility problem. But we managed!
Charming facilities, wonderfully decked for Christmas! Loved the old fire-engine themed toys displayed! EXCELLENT breakfast choices!
This place does not deal well with cold weather, and it gets very cold in Boston. The only heater in the room had an air-vent that was angled up, so it was blowing hot air at the ceiling, this means that it just stays there and the floor was icy cold, especially in the bathroom. This didn't change not matter how long I left the heater on for.
Room is nicely furnished, and the bed is very comfy. Wifi is surprisingly good for hotel wifi.
