staff was polite and helpful
pricey for small rooms and tight bathrooms.
- great style - lobster roll in City Table was excellent!
- construction outside - was quite noisy. - staff are not particularly friendly or helpful.
Everything. The staff were very accommodating and all in all a very comfortable hotel. A Junior Suite upgrade was very large with plenty of closet space and a lovely bottle of wine to go with it
Excellent Back Bay location; Friendly, incredibly helpful and generally well-informed staff.
The water pressure in the shower was quite variable, especially on the 11th floor; the Solas bar (attached to the hotel) serves generous portions of good food, but can become unbearably loud and raucous at night, making conversation almost impossible.
Great location, close to airport, restaurants & bars Fantastic service
Quite noisy from the street & inside from adjoining rooms too Rooms rather small for the price
great location, great staff, a lot of character in this old hotel
The location is fantastic, the staff are very accommodating and friendly and it is good value for money when you compare it to competitors in similar locations
the two barkeepers
Absolutely everything. Location is A1 Spacious, comfortable rooms. Morning coffee, all day lemon water.
No breakfast options
Very friendly and helpful staff.
The staff were exceptionally attentive, and it was very nice to stay at a characterful boutique hotel within each reach of the convention centre (I was there on business), as well as a nice array of nearby restaurants and shops in easy walking distance.
Really I had no real 'dislikes,' but it just would have been nice to have some artwork both in my room and in the hallways. Blank walls over a long stay can be draining.
We had a fantastic stay at the Lenox and were truly impressed about the friendliness, great support, professional attitude and excellent service attitude of all team members - no exception. Traveling from Europe, this was our only night in Boston on our us tour, but we would certainly would recommend to others and when coming back one day certainly would choose the Lenox again!
They remembered us from previous visits. Doormen always remembered where we were coming from and asked how our day was. Every staff member had a smile on their face...always!
While beds, room etc., were wonderful, the pillows were too soft for my taste. Not a problem, I just prefer a more firm pillow.
Mattresses squeak so much
First class service, central location
The location The nice spacy room The bar The warm welcome The helpfull staff We will stay here again
The staff was great: friendly, professional and attentive. Young, fun and welcoming staff contributed to our stay and made my family's first trip to Boston memorable. I stay in lots of 4 and 5 star hotels for work travel and this group has it down right. 5 stars for the staff!
The guy in the next room who talked loudly on a cell phone whilst seated on the floor of the hallway. Who does that? Doesn't Emily Post rise from her grave to strike down such boorish behavior? Apparently not, so I sent him back into his room. He seemed surprised. Even my teenagers know better.
The service was excellent! Make you feel like home. Location is excellent, too.
This is a lovely old-school boutique hotel. My room was upgraded with a full living space and 2 Queen beds $335. The decor is exactly like the photos; very clean and well cared for. The bath was rather small for the size of the room. There's a nice restaurant and a pub in the hotel and 'Atlantic Fish' seafood restaurant is a 5 minute walk if you want New England style food. The ambience in Atlantic Fish is surprisingly genteel but there's no dress code. The Boston shopping is right here and you have easy access to tourist sights. I noticed a lot of Brits were staying here. Overall a great hotel. I've stayed at the Boston Harbor Hotel (on the harbor!) and the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons is the finest high end hotel in Boston but if your looking for something more reasonable and still very charming, The Lenox is a great choice.
Very nice place to stay, very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
Slow with breakfast at City Table. Dinner there was excellent. Everytime we tried to come in or out of the hotel the doormen were in the way - helpful once they saw us but they always were an obstacle to get around.
So, we always stay at the Lenox when we're up in Boston and this stay did not disappoint. The staff is super friendly and prompt, whenever you request anything, be it from a toothbrush to bringing your car around. The concierge service is also exceptional, we were able to secure a reservation at a restaurant through the concierge that we weren't able to book ourselves.
The location was central for sightseeing. The concierge recommended an awesome breakfast place in Beacon Hill, and sent a basket of snacks, nail polish, and magazines to our teen daughters's room. Water was free which was so nice as it was in the 90's outside! The rooms were nicely decorated and beds comfortable. Very helpful front door men too.
Everything is perfect in this hotel.
Loved the small details like having robes, a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, nice smelling shampoos and lotions, a nice bar for a nightcap and breakfast served in the hotel restaurant, walking distance to so much, helpful staff, I could go on and on!
The location was ideal and I can't say enough good things about the hotel staff. From the door man to the front desk and conceirge, every hotel employee that we came across was friendly and professional. The hotel is also beautiful and our room was very comfortable.
