The "tucked away" location of this hotel gave you a countryside feel. The decor was like you were in a castle. It was quietly stated luxury. The single room was very spacious, but could use a little more natural light. The stained glass windows allowed for privacy while the curtains were open. The room was very, very quiet. I would have thought that the hotel was empty - there was a wedding going on though. This was definitely a place I'd return to with my family.

I liked the location and the grounds although it could use some upkeep. The staff was friendly and helpful. This place needs a face lift, the building is falling apart and is unkept. My room had a distinct smell like stale smoke imbedded in the carpet. The rooms are dark and use of clear glass on windows would lighten room.

Awesome design, felt like a castle Bad toilets, first toilet wouldn't flush so we were upgraded to a junior sweet, the toilet in the sweet had its own issue but I was able to remedy that fairly quickly.

The decore was amazing. It was vintage and very beautiful. The room was also very big. The hallway outside my door was very hot the first two days, but after that it was comfortable until I left.

It was a very nice hotel for the price...one of the most intersting I've stayed at. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The mattress was pretty soft, but I've slept on worse.

Close to LeClaire, Iowa where we wanted to visit. Restuarants close by. Needs better cleaning staff and updating. I would recommend only because it was a good price for the room.

I loved the decor, it is a great place to stay. I also enjoyed the restaurant we ate at. The staff was great. The rooms need a little updating, otherwise great. Will stay there again. Cobwebs in the window, and the pool area and hot tub need updated.

Loved the decor. Did the breakfast buffet. It was terrible.They were late getting started, the bacon wasn't done, no fruit, the french toast was late. You needed more staff and better food, or don't offer food.

I sincerely wish there were something positive I could say - but I cannot. . Never, ever, ever again. Unfortunately, this place has not been renovated since the 1970s. It was dark, dingy, dirty, and beastly hot (albeit we did have a heat wave) - as the air conditioning units appeared to be the originals from 40+ years ago. Understaffed, poorly trained overall. It was our high school 40th reunion and The Lodge was tauted as having the "best rates." It was really embarrassing - as I am very fond of my home town of Bettendorf.

The room was reasonably priced and the staff was accommodating. I had plenty of towels and toiletries. The facility is badly in need of an update. The blow dryer in the room didn't work. There were no extra blankets.

Somehow my reservation through booking.com did not make it to the hotel, but the staff worked very hard to accomodate me. They upgraded my room and comped me breakfast, neither of which were necessary. It was a great experience, and I would recommend The Lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable room at a reasonable price.
