Jerry met us at patio w/lemonade & cookies & then gave us map w/must see sights of island. Cottage looked over bay, beautifully wooded area. Kitchen had big windows to look out side. Cabin had everything you need. We loved it. If you are looking for 5 star setting this isn't for you; if you want 5 star hosts w/lovely setting, then this place for you. It`s a short drive from Friday Harbor; drive along coast you might see orcas like we did.
Patty and Jerry Rasmussen are the nicest hosts and the breakfasts were outstanding. The Longhouse B&B is a piece of Heaven on Earth for rest and relaxation. I was sorry to leave again and so enjoyed talking with Patty and Jerry.
The owners treat their guests like old friends. They provide them with the benefit of their intimate knowledge of San Juan Island and are courteous to provide maps and other relevant travel information. The Breakfast cannot be topped anywhere else. We have not had one like throughout all our travel in Washington State. We had no regrets about our stay.
The bathroom facilities which are across the hallway, or a little farther depending on the room booked, may be an inconvenience but the owners provide bathrobes for use by their guest to make the arrangement more convenient under the circumstances.
The breakfast were amazing in presentation, quantity, and taste.
We were presented a rule sheet several times to include no eating or drinking in the bedroom. The Blue Room bathroom was on the other side of the house. And there was NO privacy. Though very nice people, the house is very, very little.
Fantastic breakfasts, very helpful owners, not that far from Friday Harbor, peaceful.. a great value compared to the place we stayed located very near the ferry on Orcas Island
Great food, wonderful hosts. Fabulous setting
We especially enjoyed Patty's breakfasts, the setting right by the water, all the Native American decorations, and the owners' helpful ideas of what to see and where to hike.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.
This place is so serene and beautiful, we found it second only to Hawaii in its splendor and restfulness.
A wonderful B&B, extremely homely and pleasant atmosphere. Upon arrival, the owners provided a thorough introduction to the island and on what to do, while serving cookies and lemonade. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, prepared by Patty, a retired chef!
Somewhat narrow parking if three guest cars are present, but still manageable.
Wonderful place to relax away from the maddening crowds. Top notch!
We stayed in the cabin. Gorgeous location right on the water and very private. The owners were super friendly and helpful!
WE enjoyed the owners and all the information they gave us... They gave us info about the Island.. the breakfast was excellent! Hats off to this B&B... WE will return in the summer..
The owners are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The accomodations are very comfortable, and the breakfasts are awesome.
Beautiful area. We saw a deer the first night by our cabin. The owner was very helpful and informative.
Shower was made for short people.
We loved everything. Patty and Jerry are wonderful people who did more than expected to make us comfortable. We loved the location, the room, the house, the food! We will return!
Can't think of a thing.
Patty and Jerry are wonderfully kind, sweet, and warm people. Patty (a trained chef) whips up fantastic gourmet breakfasts every morning and Jerry (a font of knowledge) provides great suggestions on places to visit and eat. The B&B is filled with fascinating artefacts and an amazing collection of books. The bed was super comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. We were warmly welcomed and treated as family, and we enjoyed our lively conversations and laughter with Patty and Jerry. The B&B is also beautifully located and offers a quiet and peaceful getaway. A very special experience.
Friendly. Helpful, knowledge of area gourmet breakfast, all awesome!
Location says it all. Beautiful bay. Loved sitting on the deck looking at the boats. Food was exceptional also. Very welcoming
The breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were very nice.
My husband and I were just in town for a few days for a mini honeymoon and adored the Longhouse B&B and it's owners. They greeted us with home made cookies and lemonade, and sat us down with a map and gave us the inside scoop about where to go on the island. Breakfast each day was magnificent. We so enjoyed our time there, and we will be back.
The setting is breathtaking with a view of the bay from the patio. This is an authenically tustic place that dazzles you with its artifacts that include a dugout canoe and dozens of baskets as well as hundreds of books. IIt is rich in color and old woods and very comfotable. Patty is a former chef and both she and husband Jerry are world travelers full of great stories if you're in the mood for some lively conversation. We were there two nights and left feeling we'd made a couple of very dear. Friends.
It was all good so far as we're concerned.
