Location, comfort cleansiness. 5 star little gem
The Queen size room we were in was a little small. I don't think I could have stayed there more than 2 nights in that room. However, we had a gas fireplace and the room was really nicely decorated.
Staff was laid back and very helpful. Comfy bed. The decorating through out the whole place was really well done. What you would see in a high end home, thought out pattern combinations. It's right in downtown Amherst. Shows history without "pushing it down your throat" like some other New England historic hotels. (Colonial Inn-Concord) 30Bolton street Farm to Table restaurant was amazing and worth the price if you can afford it. Got what you paid for. Cheese/meat appetizer awesome!
Room and bathroom size varies. The latter can in some rooms be on the small side. The fitness center is small but adequate. It does, however, have one TV for the room so the first one in lucks out with the remote control!
Great location on the town commons. Staff is friendly and helpful. The Inn has several lively and comfortable seating areas with fireplaces. Loved the coffee in the lobby in the morning and the nice strong shower.
Noise level in room was unbearable and our sleep was interrupted all night. Constant noise from heating system, neighbors shower and tv. Continuous overhead footsteps that seemed to shake the room. No fan to turn on to block all the distracting noise. Heat would not adjust below 67, which was too warm for sleeping. Room was tiny. Much space is taken up by a fireplace, which looked charming in photos, but was non-working. Gas logs would have added much charm to the room. Bed looked beautiful, but mattress too soft and bed squeaky. Pillows were odd, 4 small, square shaped, and offered little support. Bottom bedsheet was torn in two places, easily visible. Bathroom was exceptional, except there were not enough towels provided. We left exhausted from being awaked all night by noise. Room 303 was poor value for the money ($160). Our experience was unpleasant...online reviews did not reflect our experience. Extremely disappointed. Will not return to this property.
Charm of building, cleanliness, location to town square. Bathroom was very nice, large, double sinks, well lit, plenty of water pressure. Staff was exceptionally courteous.
Restaurant choices...had apps and cocktail and went elsewhere for dinner.
They upgraded our room to a king from a queen upon check-in at no cost and then had champagne delivered to the room when they learned after asking that we were celebrating an anniversary.
We loved it all, there is nothing not to like about this hotel.
Smooth and friendly check in. Wonderful bar and restaurant in the hotel. Beautifully furnished and appointed guest room. Great showers.
Excellent accommodations, service and staff in a charming atmosphere and perfect location.
Best place to stay in Amherst
It is rather expensive but well worth it as it's lovely.
It's a beautiful Inn in a beautiful location. Lovely in everyway. Great with walking distance to everything in Amherst.
The Jeffery was Wonderful. From the exquisite exterior and garden to the lovely fire in our room - never had that before. Clean, comfortable and tastefully designed rooms helpful staff and just a fantastic place to stay.
Construction on the clock tower beside our room was a little inconvenient in the morning
The place is beautiful and so is the town
Room above us (314) was noisy. Sounded like they were rearranging the furniture up until 11:00 pm. Started again at 7:30 in the am. We wondered if there was some renovation work, but why at those hours? Also, our experience at their restaurant was very disappointing from service to food.
Nothing was worth noting favorably.
I stayed for my friend's wedding. The entire thing from the reception, to dinner with them afterwards, and spending the night was great. The was neat and cozy.
The King Suite had a comfortable bed and a very nice updated bathroom. The other furnishing were tired, and the general decor is dull and sparse: they need a decorator. The new toile shades are pretty and outshine everything else.
The restaurant if fabulous!
we were in room 204 (I think) and it was noisy., like someone was working in the room above .., we asked the front desk and they said no one was working in that room so we did not get a good rest, I guess we should have called the front desk during the night
the inn is beautiful ( the staff is friendly and helpful )
The nice staff and great restaurant.
