The service was outstanding everywhere from the door man to the front desk to the restaurant. The room was extremely quiet and comfortable (I'd love to buy the pillows they have) and at a comfortable temperature. Breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is close to both the Convention Center and historical monuments, etc. I would love to stay there again. I tried to cancel one night's reservation with Booking.com and was told that I would either have to keep the night I wouldn't be there or lose my reservation. Not a good choice. Luckily, our son was arriving on a red-eye the morning of the cancelled day, and the hotel allowed him to use the room to rest up. In that way, our unused night was at least available the next morning for my son, which was gratifying.

It had very helpful staff. It had a nice bar. The beds and pillows were wonderful. The lobby was not as expected as it was under construction.

The hotel was able to accommodate a handicapped person. Location was good and pleasant atmosphere. Happy hour monday-friday is worth taking advantage of since food and drinks ar expensive. The hotel seemed to be confused about my reservation through Booking.com which resulted in many phone calls and anxiety. The phone service is not efficient. Once I got Booking.com involved the problem was solved.

Beautiful remodeled room and quite luxurious and clean. We stayed in The Madison for 5 nights and on the 4th day we noticed that the room was a bit warm even with the air conditioning running (76 degrees in the room). I made a call down to the desk to inform them of the issue and also added that we needed clean towels and paper products. When we arrived back at the hotel some 13 hours later, the room was still at 76 degrees, clean towels were on the bed and we still had no paper products. I went downstairs to the desk and explained the situation to the clerk and her response was " it could not be 76 degrees in your room because it is not that warm outside". Totally inappropriate answer. She sent the security officer to our room (1 am) to check out our situation and he was pleasant and handled the paper issue and offered to give us another room to sleep in. We did not have any phone message addressing the warm room issue and no note in the room upon our return. The Madison is not 4 star material.

It was a great location for us and so much quieter than the Hilton that we had previously stayed in. The interior and our room were very modern and to our liking and the wetroom shower was fabulous, much nicer than showering in a bath. Best hotel coffee ever and we had a lovely duvet instead of blankets. We loved the hotel and the price was amazing. We would definately recommend to friends as it was so much nicer that the usual corporate hotel. We thought the bar items in the room were expensive

Nice large rooms. Comfortable bed. Good quality complimentary items. Very friendly, helpful door staff. Only ate breakfast at the hotel but thought the restaurant was expensive. Little variety in breakfast options. Could only go to buffet - no menu service. However, I realize that parts of the hotel were under renovations.

The Madison Hotel was an extremely pleasant experience. The bedding was incredibly comfortable and I had one of the best nights' sleep! The food - I ordered a flat bread pizza and the cheese was sour. Mozzarella cheese is not supposed to be sour.....

We loved The Federalist restaurant, Chef Hunter McGuire (sp?), innovative food prep and taste. The breakfast buffet was also splendid but extremely pricey. We loved one of the porters, who actually convinced us to dine at TheFederalist the first night - good call. Was most helpful in every aspect. Too bad I can't remember his name, a longtime employee, however. The concierge also was extremely helpful. The Occupy movement tents were a couple of blocks away, which was educational, and the White House about a seven-minute walk.

Loved that it was so centrally situated. We were walking distance away from most of the sights. Also loved that the room was really spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Great breakfasts with extremely pleasant staff! Very little traffic noise, despite being in the centre of the city….

I have stayed at the Madison Hotel many times and the experience is always wonderful, from the time Romeo, the doorman, opens the doors and always knows your name. Rooms are very clean, nicely decorated. The Madison is under renovation and the newly-opened restaurant "The Federalist" is excellent. Staff is attentive to your every need. You won't be disappointed . . .

Very good service and extremely comfortable rooms. I enjoyed my stay very much so. Probably could have done with a simple water cooler downstairs or free drinking water in the rooms.

“This was an excellent hotel in the heart of DC right on Capital Hill. The beds were very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was excellent and ample. Everything was within walking distance and the neighborhood was very safe. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!” Nancy, Cary |
