The view and the garden
That we couldn't be outside by the water or any of the patios or Lanais after 930 pm. That felt very restrictive for two mature adults and was very disappointing
Superb location right next to the sea wall. The rooms are built around a beautiful garden filled with bird song. If you want soulless golf course type grounds stay in one of the luxury resorts around the corner and pay a king's ransom. These are clean and simple rooms with kitchenettes and wicker furniture. No TV's, no phones. Give yourself over to the charm of the place and you will leave refreshed and renewed. Sleep deep with the sound of the waves your constant lullaby. Affable hosts that respect your privacy. Modest but absolutely delightful.
That I had to leave.
Loved the ocean ambiance And the tropical grounds. The owners were very accommodating
Run down property but worth the money And great for a couple of days Could be cleaner
Grounds were fantastic; lovely garden and outdoor seating area right on the waterfront. Price was fair for the location and room. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Lahaina.
There are a list of rules on the table when you arrive, I think these would be best placed in the booking.com listing as whilst they were fine for us they might not be for all travellers, for example no talking in the garden after 9.30pm, and there is only hot water at specified times in the morning and evening.
Facilities need a complete renovation and deep cleaning
No tv, no hot water after 10. No microwave. No acces by water wall after 9:30. No cell phone outside room.
Location to Lahaina -- just far enough away from action to be quiet but near enough to walk. Right on ocean. The garden with bird feeder was filled with butterflies and birds. Best value for money.
Can't think of anything!
Location. Nice staff.
Smelled of mildew. Mold in bathroom. Dirty kitchen. No safe.
Definitely a place to rest, not to party. Very close to sea shore, you can hear the pleasant waves sound. My room had a complete kitchen so one can buy food on nearby supermarket.
Many trips in the island leave early in the morning, so I could hear people leaving from the room above as all the structure is wooden made. But the place is very nice anyway!
The quietness of the area, owner very friendly it felt welcoming the view was the best . Walked into town shopping close by
They need a professional cleaning crew whoever cleans is not doing a very good job. I cleaned the bathroom myself for the sake of being sanitary did not use kitchen for fear that dishes not clean. Fridge was clean
Even if the hotel was cozy, it was horrible to stay there. The responsible lady was very unfriendly and unhelpful - that would be no problem BUT: In our opinion they didn't wash the bedclothes over a longer period. The whole bed smelld very bad. It was really ugly to sleep in a used bed - especially for a nightprice from $ 110.- We wouldn't recommend this hotel!!
The kitchen was unacceptably dirty. The shower kitchen was moldy.
Place was dirty! Especially the bathroom. Towels smelled like mildew. The bed sheets had stains on them. Dust everywhere.
No A/C, very uncomfortable sleeping at night.
It was nice being on the water so you could sit and look at the ocean. Only a short walk to Safeway and then a little linger walk to downtown lahaina which was really the only good thing because you did not want to stay in your room unless you had to.
Dirty. The bathroom looked moldy, I didn't feel clean leaving the shower because it was so gross, the bed felt dirty, the ground I felt nasty with my shoes off and it smelt dirty too. The garden outside was full of old water jugs and smelled gross. I would rather pay more to go anywhere else. Beach was rocky. No ac so your hot and muggy the whole. Would never come again
The location was amazing. Within walking distance to restaurants, parks, beaches, and shopping.
The room was old and dated. The bathroom was dirty and needed some repair. The biggest problem was there was no air conditioning (which is common in some parts of Hawaii) and there was no breeze. Fans were not enough to make it comfortable at night to sleep. Call and ask about AC before you go to Hawaii if you need it to sleep.
Has kitchen Her handbook clearly says all you need to know Great location, ocean view -free parking, no hassle finding space -staff was friendly
No ac -Bed covering falling apart on sides -could see dead line of sprayed insects (ants?) on wall -Not very clean (wouldnt recommend walking around w/o sandals) -saw some small cockroaches in kitchen at night -one night neighbor was listening to music into the wee hours of the morning and bc no ac, couldnt close window
The ocean was the backyard of the Makai inn and loved every morning and night
LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT . 15 MINUTES WALK TO SHOPPING CENTRE AND BUS CONNECTION FOR ISLAND TRAVEL.
NOT VERY CLEAN.
close to the sea
dirty and nor maintained. leaking toilettes. very old place. saw cockroaches in the entrance
Cockroaches everywhere, not very clean
Good situation, near the center by car or foot Nice room View on the see Free parking Kitchen with fridge
Location, very calm, nice garden, ocean view.
Some renovation would help to overall feeling of the room.
