Noise Price Outdated, needs to be refurbished Elevators are slow Slamming doors
The location is perfect
When we made our check in at 16:00, we have been told that our room was ready, when we got to the room it wasn't clean and we had to wait at least two more hours to get in our room.
Location, location, location! A 5 minute walk from Times Square, close enough to the action but not too busy. Would definitely stay here again.
Expensive wi-fi at $25 per day (although it was reliable) The hotel is obviously old and looking its age, but it was generally clean and in good order.
Location is right in the middle of all the action in NY.
Elevator system is very inefficient.
We had a domestic violence incident in the room next door. Our emergency call was ignored and security claims to have 'managed' the situation which flared up again a few hours later. We had absolutely no follow up on our complaint. We were left feeling very nervous about the situation escalating next to us. Certainly my worst experience ever in a hotel. Overall poor customer service from foyer staff.
A fantastic stay. The 5th floor junior suite is really worth it :)
The elevators.... Sometimes where was a small wait
Great location Good value Good cleanliness Good lifts Would recommend
Décor bit dated but fine
The new owner staarts modifying the internal of the hotel
Great location with cool staff at old hotel
This hotels location was excellent....didn't agree with some of the reviews about cleanliness, our room was clean and fresh towels etc everyday. The hotel corridors on the floor we where on were a bit dated, but most hotels in NYC are the same....must say though we never spent anytime in the room, it's somewhere to sleep....would definelty return to Manhattan don't let poor reviews put you off....:-)
Corridors a bit dated but not an issue you don't sleep in them!!
One bed suite was very big with two toilets. Excellent location. Lobby modern. Doorman Gene was fantastic even after I said I had no cash to tip only credit cards he said its not about the money and did his utmost to accommodate our large amount of luggage into a cab in freezing temperatures knowing he wasn't going to get a tip. Michael on the breakfast bar was fabulous. We loved him. He was very kind to my autistic 18 yr old son Daniel.
Had booked a 2 x double bedded room and was offered a cheap upgrade a few days before we arrived. We were delayed 5 hours and on arrival was pleased to know the upgrade was available as we were very tired. The lobby is lovely and modern and photos on the internet showed tge rooms to be the same with big bathrooms with double sink units. when we git off the the 19th floor we were met with extremely old dirty carpeted halk ways with equally dirty walls with stains on them. I thought to myself what have I done here. The room was very big butvthe furniture was shabby very faded with age and very old fashioned like ut hadnt been changed in many years. The bathroon was tiny with paper peeling off the walls and the ceiling had a large area where the plaster was coming away over the bath. The carpets had large stains. The breakfast bar area was equally ancient and very shabby. I was very disappointed. I complained to a manager who seemed to react like he had heard it all before. All he did was say we could stay in our room late on the day we were leaving as our plane was leaving late and gave us free vouchers for a continental breakfast which I was under the understanding was included in the rate anyway. By the way it only consisted of coffee one pastry and one piece of fruit. On tge sat if our departure we had several calls and visits to the roon urging us to leave as a couple had been waiting for the room for hours which was very annoying.
Location, no administration, no formality, did I mention location?
There was 5 elevators but only 2 Working. Så there was always a Line and it was full al the time
Cleanliness Paif wi-fi Windows won't open Small bathroom
Where the hotel was great not far from where everything was.
The staff at desk were not kind or helpful when I came to check in. I asked for 2 beds when I booked but got one had to share with the person I came over with.
Negar of times square and central park.
Old furnitures Dirty room Door doesnt work very well
Waiting for elevators
Good location. Clean and comfortable.
Didn't have room we booked available. No restaurant or bar. Lifts were very poor often waiting ages at times we had to take stairs from 6th floor Concerige could be available more.
The bedroom had bad smell, and u can hear everything from the other rooms. The elevator doesn't work properly.
Location is good - and that's about it.
The website totally misrepresents this property. It is old, run down, dark, rooms are small as are bathrooms - and it was simply dirty. We were disgusted. It was dimly lit - they are renovating the elevators and we had 20 minute waits to exit the 15th floor. The advertised pool has been closed for 3 years. The concierge couldn't help us with anything and barely spoke English. I travel a lot - and this was worse than even the most inexpensive hotel I've ever stayed at. If we could have found another hotel, I'd have switched. DON'T BE FOOLED!!
Wifi was great and bed was comfortable.
No room service available Our room was right next to to laundry area and it was quite noisy at times.
