The Toll Road Inn is the perfect Vermont getaway, surrounded by the area's magnificent mountains and the serene Bromley Brook.
Score from 122 reviews Wonderful
Quiet county area with nice view of mountain across the road. On a small hill above the road so was quiet with little noise from passing cars.
Room wasn't bad, but outdated - felt kind of like the 70's-80's with slight musty odor. Very small bathroom with no counter space or place to put clothes during shower. Could hear voices from the people in the room next door while in sleeping part of room. Had the misfortune of having very heavy walking person in the room above us who thumped back and forth across the floor repeatedly at night and in the early morning with boots on. Made it hard to fall asleep or stay asleep. Not a fault of the motel so much as a testament to the age of the motel and it's construction and lack of sound proofing.
Nice breakfast area and warm food. Spacious room with very clean bathroom and near new towels. Peaceful mountain view.
The Staff, the breakfast, the cute little houses (we were in #3), the refrigerator. The location was perfect for us visiting family in nearby Manchester. and the view was lovely as well. The price was also very reasonable.
Wifi signal was weak.
We liked having a separate cottage for our family of 4 as we could come and go without disturbing any other guests. Breakfast was made to order and always included fresh fruit. We liked having our own kitchenette in the cabin, but a towel bar would also come in handy.
Maybe having a corner soap dish in the tub/shower installed as we had to put our soap on the edge of the tub. It would have been more convenient to place the soap in a dish/holder during a shower. Another towel bar would have come in handy as well.
Owner was very gracious and accommodating.
The proprietors were very accomodating and friendly, told us of great places to dine, the Views were great, breakfast was included in their restaurant. Not fancy but very clean
Nice setting and a good breakfast
Sits close to the highway so hear traffic
Friendly and pleasant owners. Very clean. Just right for our celebration of our 40th Wedding Anniversary. On our honeymoon we stayed in Londonderry, VT and wanted a similar experience. We were pleased with what we found.
Breakfast food was delicious, but would have liked a little more choice.
Convenient location for me. Pleasant owners. Great breakfast.
My cabin stunk! Literally. Don't if it was the sewerage system or the water or what. Hopefully it was just cabin No.5
I've been very well welcomed even though I came late.Good staff.
We loved the staff who were more than friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved the breakfast we had both mornings. The scenery can't be beat, and the location to other Vermont attractions is great. The room was probably one of the cleanest I've ever seen.
It is a little "dated" and could use some new carpeting, but beyond that it was clean and comfortable. The noise from guests above us was a little annoying it sounded like elephants walking and the air conditioner didn't work too well. Fortunately it wasn't that hot.
A very good location for touring around. Plenty of space for car parking and rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and couldn't do enough to help us plan our days out and recommend places of interest. She also gave us tips on where to eat out which were all excellent. Each morning we had different choices for our breakfast which were delicious. In the evening it was lovely to sit out on our balcony with a glass of wine and look out over the mountains in front of the motel .
Our room was large and comfortable. (me) The bathroom was spotless. (wife)
That we couldn't stay longer.
Lovely house, friendly owners.
Comfortable and friendly
stairs to the cottage were very icy.
Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room.
Mint green walls were a little rough on the eyes.
The staff was loving and so nice. Breakfast was amazing and romantic. The view was incredible and it snowed perfect for our first time in Vermont.
New Bathrooms Hospitable staff
Great breakfast and staff. Rooms were super clean one of best I've seen in forty years of travel. Definitely come back.
Everything was great. The steel stair to second level were a bit scary with snowy cold weather. Minor though
Breakfast was fantastic!
Breakfast. The owners. Knowledgeable and helpful about suggestions for daily excursions.
The location of the hotel was ideal for easy accessibility to several major ski mountains, i.e., Stratton, Bromley and Okemo. The owners are very nice people. The value was outstanding and a huge savings over resort accommodations. The free country breakfast was delicious.
tastefully decorated and impeccably maintained.
Thje proprieters were charming and friendly. They went out of their way to accomodate our early checkout by preparing a delicious hot breakfast for us before the stated times for breakfast. The food was fresh and tasty, the rooms were extremely clean and it was apparent that the Lodge was well cared for. The atmosphere in the dining area was cozy and felt very homey.
The Lodge is at the top of a pretty steep driveway and with icey conditions it was a bit treacherous to come and go. There is absolutely no handicap access to the rooms or to the dining area. That being said, I would certainly not be detered from staying there again. I will absolutely recommend the Lodge to friends and family.
Not fancy but very comfortable. Stayed in the cottage which has a big picture window with a view of the mountains. Had a cute porch but was too cold to use it. Walked over to the village, found some local hikes. Breakfast was wonderful, homecooked in a cozy dining room. Plan to return
