The location was excellent -really quiet and comfortable. The hotel has got character, soul and charm. It is in the best area for restaurants ,bars, independant shops and really central for the best of NYC.
The decor and vibe reminds you of a time gone by, but with all the modern conveniences. The lobby is a great place to hang out and have a drink, in front of a roaring fire. The rooms are simply decorated and very clean.
the air conditioning in the common areas. It was August but with nice temperature outside. In the lobby the air conditioning keeps the temperature at 16C and an authentic fireplace is on!!
Well run, clean and comfortable.
Tiny bathroom sink. No place to set things. No coffee pot and I am an early riser (they don't serve in the lobby until 7 am)
It's in a prime location, close to 5th Ave. The Marlton is one of only a few hotels located in the vicinity. It's ideal because most of the other ones are too far west or south of the area.
The room is a bit small.
The Marlton is charming and was convenient to our planned meetings. The food was excellent.
Could have used a bit more space. It was difficult to place luggage and get around the bed too!
Breakfast included, rain-forest shower-head, comfortable bed, upper floor away from city traffic noise, courteous staff, key medallion and inner decor.
Very steep taxes on my room bill, very expensive Marlton umbrella (should have been a complimentary souvenir for what I paid), bed should have been larger.
The bar, the location and the staff
The rooms are very small
staff, restaurant, location
not their fault, but the city was repairing the water main...no water from midnight to 7am REALLY small room
Super staff. Old, but well kept style. Great service. Cosy/dynamic lounge(day & night) Strategic location for Manhatten
The restaurant and coffee bar on site were both wonderful and so easy after long travel days
There was nothing I can think of not too like. I plan to stay again!
Breakfast Decor Service Scent Bed Quiet
NY is just too expensive
Fantastic Location Excellent Room with a great bathroom Great bed, excellent linens plenty of power points in the room. A very most excellent door man who was at the top of his game from start to finish of our stay
The breakfast room staff weren't very good. The front desk staff are excellent for check-in and check-out, however, the concept of concierge is a slight stretch beyond them. They need to know more about the neighborhood, (restaurants, mass trans., directions, shops, etc.)
This is a really upmarket hotel right in Greenwich Village. Not one thing could we fault. Rooms are not large but would you expect in New York. Historical Hotel that not long completed total refurbishing. Close to everything. Had 5 fantastic nights there. Jeanette & Billy Australia
I asked for a quiet room, and I got one. Beautiful room, small, however, quite sufficient. Beautiful hallways, restaurant, sitting areas etc.
View from room facing W 8th St. Lovely elegant modern and fun room decor. Wonderful downstairs lobby and restaurant. One block from Washington Sq Park.
Shall I mention the rooms are a bit tiny, but that it is all part of the fun, the great value, and in NYC rooms are small thats all.
Friendly (and cool) staff. Lovely restaurant and hip bar. Serves a delicious breakfast and is located in amazing Greenwich. Definitely coming back to The Marlton.
Location near NYU Small hotel size with European feel Unique but comfortable rooms Cozy, trendy bar Quiet location Free continental breakfast
Restaurant and bar staff that are not real attentive Small elevator Small room but had everything I needed
Everything! Would come back in a heartbeat. Central location but felt quiet and secluded at night for sleeping.
Very much liked the slightly querky atmosphere, excellent rooms, good decor and location. All very much better than the 'regular' hotel chains. Reception and hall staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Slight reservation over quality of breakfast serving staff, if i was the owner this would be the area i would focus my training to bring their standards up to match the rest of the 'product'.
Rooms are very, very, very tiny ! Only for one person.
Great location Beautiful decor and staff Friendly staff
Rooms are small (but I would still stay there again)
This hotel was well appointed and located, especially for the money. The living room makes up for the small guest rooms
It should do a deal with a local gym.
great location near washington square.
$40 car parking fee
The location was great for what I needed. I was in the city for about 18 hours, and it was the perfect location to get to JFK. The included breakfast was a nice touch. Everyone at the front desk was great as well. The rooms were extremely small but very tidy and neat. I'm a clean freak and hotels gross me out, this hotel was lovely.
The rooms are TINY! I mean really really tiny. I suppose coming to NYC you don't stay in your room at all, so just know that its not a place to hang out. Also, there was no bellman at the front door, so I had to lug my suitcase up the front stairs by myself (I'm 7 Months Prego), so that was tough. My only other issue - the free breakfast. It was the TINIEST breakfast I've ever seen - like they wanted to starve me or something. Best part, the waiter took my order and never came back. He was half asleep actually, and I thought it was comical. The two hostesses standing in front of me the entire time, would not look up from their convo to give me the time of day. So I got up and left. Honestly, that really was the only thing I didn't enjoy - everything else in this hotel is great!
