The amazing interior decor of the rooms and common area as well as it's location. The service provided by the bell boy was superb!
Our room was a little small but that was more that over compensated by the mGnificent decor and brilliant staff
Loved the hotel generally - great ambiance, lovely furniture and places to sit and chill or work as lots of people were doing. Attention to detail - rooms were lovely with lots of nice touches. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.
Nothing not to like really! Very hard to find fault with anything at all. Only thing I could think of is that one evening i asked for a glass of wine and got a very small measure for a very large price but that's it really. Everything was really exceptionally nice.
Location is perfect. Bar / restaurant is uber-cool. Room decor is 4/5* quality.
Room size is as described - VERY small. Breakfast was poor. Price is steep, but this is NYC. They even charged $4 for 'filtered' water in the room. Outrageous.
The bar was nice and friendly, great location. Continental breakfast was nice if a little small on the portion size.
The room was tiny!! Only a Double bed too so not a great night sleep, not even enough room to store 2 cases and then be able to get around the bed, the bathroom flooded when we used the shower, the wardrobe space was tiny too with no room for drawers in the room. Ok if you want a night or 2 with a weekend bag but not really that good in the middle of a 2 week road trip.
Location was perfect, the rooms are small but has very high and nice standard.
One of my worst experiences regards payment, and I'm traveling a lot during work. When we arrived they told me that they were going to reserve a small amount onto my credit card as they normally does on hotels, my experience is that this amount is usually maximum about 300€ when traveling around the world. But Marlton hold over 2000USD on my credit card which is close to the limit on my private card. This made some problems since you usually want to use your credit card during your holiday. Any way I though that the reservation was going through when we left and we were going to pay anyway... That was not what happened in check out. Marlton charged my credit card whit another 2200USD in checkout and It took over two weeks for the reservation to release which made my situation at more even worse. This made some big problems for me. I spoke to the reception but they told me this was the way they were doing it. I will not recommend Marlton hotel to anyone except people with seriously big limits on their credit cards. This situation kind on ruined one part of our holiday that we have saved for.
Liked the surroundings, decor etc. Bar and lounge area comfortable and good atmosphere. Restaurant food good. Comfortable beds. Excellent position. Complimentary breakfast good.
We had the smallest bedroom available and 2 days was maximum we could have stayed in this room as nowhere to store things and suitcases pushed under bed.
Location was incredible Beautiful Boutique hotel Rooms were great
Being a boutique hotel we expected exceptional service. We spent a full week at the hotel and did not speak to any of the staff. When we made efforts to engage with them, it seemed they were too 'cool' to talk. We had no service from the door man, the front desk barely looked up at you even though the lobby was very very small. We are world travellers and love NYC. We booked this hotel for a special occasion and though we enjoyed many things about our stay, the customer service and staff were very very disappointing, especially for the hotel cost. Unfortunately, we would not stay again because of this.
My room was tiny. One could not sit anywhere except on the bed.
The vibe of the hotel the individualism the decor and the breakfast menu.
The rooms are exceptionally small. Ok for one person but impossible for two if you are staying for more than two nights. We are here for a week and we originally booked a petit queen- this room is a large cupboard. We were very kindly upgraded by the excellent staff to a queen but even here we are living out of our suitcases which are tucked under our bed so we can have room to move around to get to the bathroom. At 500 USD a night we would have expected drawers or a few shelves at the least
The style and ambiance of the hotel was very authentic old nyc of the 50's
The continental buffet was include but for the room rate this should be better.
The size of the bedrooms. Horrible view of fire escape Too expensive
Great stay at a great hotel !!
Nicely decorated boutique hotel, great restaurant, staff is very helpful and always there to make your stay perfect. The bathrooms are particularly beautiful. Perfect location.
The location is great, the hotel is very stylish, the rooms are smartly decorated and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. I arrived in the early morning expecting only to check my bag, but they were able to put me into a room right away. The room was very small as expected but comfortable. The common areas are lovely. I would certainly stay here again.
I wouldn't recommend the room I had for a longer stay or for more than one person. There was no place to store or hang clothing, so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. The complementary continental breakfast was delicious but on the light side, although you can order off the menu as well. These really aren't criticisms just observations.
Quality of room fittings and furnishings. The cosy lobby.with real fire..Breakfast was good
Having your credit card earmarked with $100 dollars per night for 'incidentals' on top of room rate, whether they were used or not. Some of the staff in restaurant seemed a little unsure of what they were doing.
location, very good service, great beds, nice breakfast, warm area with fireplace to chat or to read; great for the winter, good price quality rate
noises of the airco and room was a bit tiny
Location Cleanliness Decor
Rooms were teeny tiny.
The location in Greenwich Village was great, on a quiet street full of cafés and shops, near to Washington Square and several subway stations. The NYC tour buses drive down the street so you can see that it's nice. The club atmosphere of the reception room, bar and restaurant was also lovely with log fire burning; lots of people sitting chatting or working on ipads. The design of the bedroom and bathroom were French chateau inspired with a twist. Complimentary breakfast was just right, not the usual over indulgence.
The AC in the reception was a few notches too cold for our taste and we had to wear sweaters indoors when it was pretty hot outside. The picture on the website of a roof terrace turned out to be private to one of the rooms. The bedroom was well designed which was just as well as the space was very limited.
Ambience and bathtub
Rooms a little small but lovely
Staff were friendly Hotel was beautiful, clean and attractive. Rooms were superb and ideal
Location, style, bar, cleanliness - felt like a piece of NYC history!
The hotel has been given an old world charm with wood panelling, open fire (yes in an air conditioned room!), etc all adding to the atmosphere. The location in Greenwich Village is a good one to be in at the end of the day as it has a great selection of bars and restaurants. As a group of 4 we found travelling by taxi both convenient and cheap. Again the location is central with easy access to all the usual tourist attractions. Staff were always helpful and friendly.
At night the restaurant air conditioning is turned down too low so we did not eat there.
location, location, location. Nice staff
small room, noise and bad insonorization between rooms
Great complimentary breakfast. Kind staff. Beautiful décor. Relaxing communal areas.
Very small rooms. Not great location. Not very clean
Loved the fit out, great furnishings everything was new. Restaurant dinner was good and staff there were very nice.
Rooms a little small. The 'pastries' on the continental breakfast were not what I would call pastries, scones and cake are not pastries. One of the senior staff at reception was too smug.
