The bed and location!
The window blinds in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned for a long time.
Lots of outside street noise on the weekend. We were on the Broughton street side with balcony.
The location and the staff were both excellent.
The bed and especially the pillows were not to the expected level of a 4 star hotel. The bathroom had no counter space at all.
Staff most helpful and considerate.
Limited selection at breakfast and parking challenges, though there is valet parking which I would recommend.
There is a wonderful character to the hotel, with a quaint lobby and atrium breakfast room. The rooms were smallish, but nice, the bathrooms probably having been added in later than the original structure. The balcony overlooking the street was a nice feature.
Parking arrangement was difficult but there's probably no better way, considering the location.
hotel size, ease in getting around hotel and city, lovely accommodations.
Good breakfast Charming old place
Having booked a room with balcony we did not expect to crawl out of a window to get to the balcony. The bathtub was interesting, but almost impossible to get into for a shower.
my room face the courtyard they had a wedding rehearsal very loud till after 11 o'clock
Empty refrigerator in room,No Water or Soda
Even though my expectations were high, because of all the great reviews, the facilities, service, and staff were still beyond my expectations. All of the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional. Our second night there my wife had an allergic reaction to something she ate. Preston (front desk) was extremely helpful and demonstrated he was sincerely concerned. The next morning the front desk asked how my wife was feeling. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was excellent! I cannot say enough good things about the Marshall Inn.
Staff wine and cheese bell hops (still called that?) Excellent maids ( still called that) excellent
The moment you pull up to the curb, you are treated like visiting royalty. The staff is incredibly warm yet professional. It is aesthetically like a step back in time, yet with all the modern day amenities.
The character of the hotel, the staff was superb. The 45 bistro bar that was attached was wonderful. James, the bartender, is a prize to behold. He makes the stay worthwhile in itself.
The tour the offer is not what it presents itself to be. I've been to Savannah 7 times, taken several trolley tours...this was the worst. Misrepresented itself. We got off halfway thru. Very disappointed. My friend with me did not get the true history of Savannah from this tour.
The decorations The patio
The loud drunks and cars on broughton street The bathroom did not have a tub and the curtain did not stop water from going onto the floor or a place to put cosmetics. Several items fell into toilet from trying to balance on back of the stool ledge. Room was very small. Parking was inconvenient and very expensive. We paid a great deal of money to stay there so you would have thought parking would have been included.
Location and restaurant on site
Housekeeping not timely in cleaning our room - had to make a call to the front desk.
This is a lovely hotel. Nice rooms, very comfortable beds and friendly, helpful staff. The location couldn't really be better and the lounge (they call it the library) is a beautiful room. We had a drink in the bar and ate dinner in the restaurant attached (but under different ownership). The bar had a great atmosphere and the food and service in the restaurant were of a very high standard. Unfortunately, we could not eat there our second night as both the bar and restaurant are (surprisingly) closed on Sundays.
Both the hotel and restaurant are expensive, but its a case of getting what you pay for here. East Braughton Street is noisey until well into the early hours on a Saturday night. There is also noise from people walking in corridors as, being an old building, rooms are not sound proofed.
Location was great; convenient to restaurants, staff very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping exceptional.
Continental breakfast was bare minmum. Needs upgrading. Also, would have been nice to have coffee available in lobby throughout the day.
Loved the wine & cheese!!!!
There isn't much not to like.
Employees need to smile more
It's position, the easy parking facilities and the friendliness of the staff
Bathroom too small
The staff were very nice and helpful. I really enjoyed the location and the room was very cozy. I felt like I was staying with a friend. The decor was beautiful. I would definitely stay again.
Staff was very nice
Accommodations were not the quality expected. The breakfast was very poor, coffee weak, expected a traditional southern breakfast and it was Motel 6 style. Very Cheaply prepared and served.
Shower drain was clogged. No free parking. Valet parking is highway robbery at $20 then you feel you have to tip stil. My luggage is something I am quite I am quite capable of handling on my own. Parked in deck for the night. Cost $12 so I did save $8.
Staff very helpful
Room was too small
