The Melrose Hotel

Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption war sehr servisorientiert und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer war für uns vier sehr schön und groß genug. Das Hotel lag für eine Städtereise sehr zentral.

Der Preis war im nachhinein gesehen viel zu hoch. Im Laufe unseres Urlaubs in den USA haben wir u.a. auch in NewYork direkt am Timesqare in einem sehr guten Hotel für fast die Hälfte übernachtet. Auch im Laufe der anderen Übernachtungen in sehr guten Hotels war es längst nicht so teuer. Insbesondere der Frühstückspreis ( 2 Personen für 55 Dollar) hat uns vom Sockel gehauen und die Mitarbeiter im Frühstücksraum waren dagegen (s.o.) unfreundlich.

Das Melrose Hotel liegt an sehr guter Lage und die Zimmer sind gross und sauber. Wir haben hier zwei Tage übernachtet und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Kosten für einen Autoparkplatz sind etwas zu hoch.

The staff was extremely helpful and kind.

The room was awful. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and mold around a ceiling sprinkler. Many items were broken (picture frames and furniture. Bathroom door did not shut.

the location was good, the rooms were large, the bed comfortabe.

The staff were poorly trained, when I went for a smoke outside the place was messy, chairs in disarray, ashtrays not emptied, despite three staff on the door chatting. e mail facilities badly signposted and expensive. should be available in the room. Would not stay there again and would not adive someone to stay. Sorry to be negative, the best person in the hotel that I dealt with was the lady in the breakfast area, ie black lady with long dark hair, - she was excellent, friendly, helpful, pleasant. The waiting staff were poor, slow, - stopped having breakfast there even though we had paid for it and went elsewhere. Sorry. But then we got what we paid for, so I just have to pay more the next time.

The fact that they didn't have a fully-functioning dining room (mostly served breakfast) was inconvenient. The location was pleasant but far from government buildings that one might like to visit. The hotel was a bit run-down and the room was not as clean as I would have liked.

Location excellent, near to Georgetown, good restaurants and shopping. Close to Foggy Bottom metro and buses for easy access to museums etc. and for Arlington Cemetery. Room very comfortable and quiet as on inside well athough a little dated. Room service, e.g. for replacement hairdryer, water, lightbulbs etc. very prompt. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Only thing which let the hotel down was breakfast. First morning excellent, full buffet including hot dishes. Next day hotel had changed policy. Only continental breakfast included with hotel reservation although most residents had full breakfast included at time of booking. Took four or five days to correct this problem, most of staff unclear of changes causing confusion, not enough staff for full service, spoke to to manager of dining room and reception. Buffet very poor, cheap cereals, fresh fruit not fresh, presentation uninviting, and for number of people in hotel not enough quantity, replacement of dishes erratic, only good enough for motel hotel, not 4 star city hotel. Made breakfast each morning unrelaxing.

Very friendly atmosphere, staff are excellent. Room clean and comfortable.

excellent hotel in posch locality, near to shopping center,near to subway,good time spending, good for walking in pensylvania st.near to church,easy accessability for transportation, overall excellent location.

Excellent location

Not a standard service, tough things were eventually delivered, staff were negligent and not dependable. There were serious issues with cleanliness. The hotel needs a top to bottom cleaning and refurbishment. Carpets for instance were old and dirty.
