Service and location
The affiliated gym fitness 24 does not fit the standard of hotel. Bathroom was really cold
Restautant and staff service excellent
Room was old , bathroom floor was freezing and bed sheets were terrible although some people like linen
Ambiance of the lobby bar. Oh, and the Old Fashions were awesome
The bar, lobby, food, location...ALL
The reception/concierge staff in particular are very professional, efficient, & attentive. Prompt room service & good housekeeping staff.
Except, The lobby bar staff were very slow distracted & inattentive on more than one occasion.
This hotel has everything. I am an interior designer with very high standards and I was very impressed. Only complaint was that I wish my room category had a bath tub and the room could have used one piece of art. Otherwise it was perfection.
Sheets, towels, staff, lobby, room
Lighting in room, closet doors (blocks light when open and have to open to get stuff out) and bathroom doors (opens and covers sink area) opening inconveniently, lotion, shampoo, cream rinse
The location is excellent. The design is nice and rooms are rather spacious (not the standard category though) for New York. The restaurant downstairs is good and "reasonably" priced. Staff is serviceable.
There is a lot of noise in the street everyday around 5am and 7am (delivery ? Garbage collection ? ) and the windows are not that soundproof. No swimming pool, no spa. Hefty price overall for what it is.
the ambiance of this Hotel
the service for the breakfast was insuffisant
The lobby and comfortable beds.
That the workout facilities were at the YMCA not at the hotel.
Great staff, location
No gym on site
Service/Staff Food Location Beds TV
no fitness room
Great location, quiet room, comfortable room and cool decor. The majority of the staff was great!
A single employee that could have been having a bad day decided to take it out on us. Too bad...
The staff were polite, discreet and attentive when dealing with us. The hotel is well located and we found it easy travelling to all parts of the city as well as walking to the East Village, Union Square and even (at a push) Williamsburg. The restaurant is popular as is the lobby and breakfast area. We enjoyed the out of your face attitude and the high standard of the hotel as well as it's SOHO address. We booked a Mercer Room and liked the simplicity of the room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. We enjoyed our stay here.
No view to speak of other than directly into the building opposite (Mercer Room). While the blinds are great, a better option on the street side would be net curtains as they allow maximum light with maximum privacy during the day. We had to close the blinds for privacy and use the lights which feels awkward during the day (rich world problems). Housekeeping left treats for us on some nights after turndown (fresh grapes, extra water etc.) but not on every night, when it's not done you are unsure if they missed you out. This was a nice touch but do it every night or not at all.
Great food in an informal atmosphere with professional friendly staff
Liked: service service service location hotel design rooms bed pitch black rooms loft style Kitchen (The Mercer) cappuccino in lobby shower pressure view of Soho uhhh ... service
Didn't Like: that I am not rich enough to stay at The Mercer all the time.
Hallways are dark and the over trendy details make it less trendy than they wish it would be. Rooms are small. Baths are small.
Great decor , nice and intimate atmosphere , friendly staff, Comfortable bed and spacious bedroom... Delicious restaurant(The Mercer kitchen)
Everything was great.
Hotel key system is old. Needs to be updated. They use actual keys, and the key I got for my room was actually didn't work twice.
Cool calming decor nice toiletries huge bath comfortable bed light room
Rooms were a bit small for the price paid
Waiters in lobby quiet not taking care of or even noticing people arriving, then waiting to be served in the seated area. Smell of cigarette in the room and pillows. Noise at night from adjacent rooms. I could hear people just talking... And a lot of room doors bangings.
Staff were exceptional in their support and service
Location was excellent for Soho activities, but required lengthy cab rides for uptown sites and attractions
Everything about it ..Amazing ambiance and hype
The atmosphere, the staff was very kind, the food excellent, the rooms very clean... congratulations!
