Michelangelo Hotel    

The location was fantastic. Hotel was beautiful. Rooms very clean and very comfortable. Staff always helpful and smiling. Would definately stay here on our next trip to New York.

Loved the hot croissants and excellent coffee every morning downstairs. Great ambiance.

The booking we made supposedly included breakfast. The breakfast offered was really only coffee/tea and pastries (no juice, no fruit, no cereal, no butter, cheese or jam). Bearing in mind that coffee and tea are normally offered in hotel room as standard items, which is not the case at the Michelangelo, the alleged "breakfast" was really only limited pastries. Disappointing and, in my view, misleading. The fact that breakfast was supposedly included, influenced my decision to make the booking in the first place.

Excellent location. Our room was lovely and bed very comfortable and extremely clean. Something one requires when walking around so much.

A little on the expensive side.

The location of the hotel was very good for us. It is close to the theatre district.

You were able to hear the plumbing from other rooms. The noise was very noticeable.

Breakfast was poor - both the location and what was offered.

Clean! Staff was professional-top to bottom- and the lobby and lounge were large and pleasant. Our room was large, especially for in the city, and the beds were great for sleeping. Would be happy to stay there again.

Bedspreads were very tired and looked beat. Thankfully they disappeared at the turndown in the evening, never to be seen again.Carpet needs replacement and furniture coverings are worn from heavy use, but even so, room was entirely satisfactory. No excuse for 4 separate room taxes, but that is not the fault of the hotel.

Excellent location near the theaters, shopping, restaurants, subway access. Comfortable and well-appointed suite. Wonderful staff.

I killed a cockroach in my bathroom in the middle of the night.

Free wi-fi in the bedroom would be a big draw card, this is available in most discerning hotels in Europe

great location in the city - beautiful atmosphere - quiet - as comfortable as home

We liked that we were "upgraded" to a suite, the easy access for a 7 mile run in Central Park, the neighborhood feel of the bar/restaurant, the friendliness of the staff.

The chairs were too low- all of which seemed to be child height (and I am only 5'8"), that you have to pay for internet - you get it free at a $99.00 Holiday Inn Express for goodness sake!

From the doorman, the front desk staff to the bellman everyone was friendly and most professional. This is a goregous hotel in a perfect location for a walk in Central Park, dinner and a Broadway show. There is also the nice touch of complimentary coffee and delicious pasteries offered to guests in the morning. Great stay.

Dissapointed that our room did not look like the picture. There wasn't even a bedspread on the bed!! Or any of the decorative pillows that made the room in the photo seem so special. Just plain white sheets and a blanket. Lackluster, an unpolished look that didn't match the rest of the room or hotel.

Staff is not nice. They seem to forget that they are suppose to make you feel welcome. They say that they offer breakfast, which is a joke. It is coffee with a croissant in a dark, horrible basement (worse than a motel on the road). They used to have a wonderful restaurant and now this so called luxury hotel does not have a restaurant.

The rooms were reasonably sized and very nice. The staff was always friendly and concerned for our stay and comfort.

I had a nice and quiet room, it's clean, very good bed and the location is very good and central. Some of the staff was very kind.

What I really detested was the fact that I booked a room including breakfast and that so called "breakfast" was just a coffee or tea and a croissant, I felt cheated. For only a few dollars more (at their expense) they could include some orange juice and some marmelade, yogurt an cereal or such.. This just feels really cheap. Feeling cheated makes me sad and angry, so I don't think I will return. Some of the facilities in the room are out of date, such as the television (not a flat screen.. Come on..) the bathroom could need some new taps, I mean they worked, but not great. I also had a few moments that the staff was grumpy or acted unintetrested. In all I just think that if you are speding over 350 a night on a room (even in a very expensive town such as New York) you need to get everything tip top.. And that it was not.

Wifi should be free

I liked that it was in the theatre district of New York and close to Broadway and 42nd and 45th Streets. It was also quiet.

I wasnt told whether the breakfast which was included was the continental breakfast or a cooked breakfast. I wasnt given any map or information actually check in was very poor. I got a couple of red marks on my face and on requesting a supervisor, her comments were we have the hotel debugged every week. I said I would give it another night to see if I got anymore. There was no apology or follow up it was not what I would consider to be an appropriate response. It would have ruined my short stay if I was to make more of this. I was surprised at their laissez- faire attitude to something which could have been very serious.

Clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished room. Extremely quiet. Perfect location.

The room window overlooked some kind of a "shaft" with minimal natural light--very dark(I guess that is why it was so quiet!)For this price I would have liked free internet.
