Score from 2193 reviews Very good
Continental breakfast is meager and quite limited. Only open between 7-9am
Easy walking and close to subway stops to see all the sights.
Bar area not very large - but there are so many nearby options
Rapid response to a/c issue. Very attentive staff
That we couldn't stay longer!
This was our 2nd stay at the Michaelangelo. Both times we were upgraded into the same magnificent suite. Despite our busy schedule in the city, we looked forward to returning to our beautiful haven. Both of our visits were truly memorable at your beautiful hotel. We look forward to returning. THANK YOU for making this special birthday one I will truly remember and cherish in every way!
room was terrific and the staff upgraded our room
The staff is "the best" we always enjoy ourselves at this hotel. Location is also prime.
All additional costs are very expensive (eg room service charge of more then 3 USD) The complementary continental breakfast in the basement does not fit to the ambiente of the hotel (Nothing left at 8:00 am)
Very nice hotel, centrally located, friendly staff, the a la carte breakfast and the bar are great - especially the traditional cocktails
The breakfast and breakfast room are nothing short of laughable . Poor choice and my lounge is bigger. For a hotel of this size and quality it was nowhere near good enough.
Nice staff, great rooms and beds were amazing!!
Cost of wifi in rooms
Everything - Location, staff, comfort
No view from my room Noisy A.C.
*central location close to every thing *beutifull loby and decorated *the room was verry big and well devid. *helpfull staff* *steps from times square and broadway
Noisy air vents
The room was spacious with a comfortable bed.
Complimentary breakfast not up to par. There were no bowls flatware and coffee was out 2 mornings. We had to use coffee cups for cereal, etc. Also breakfast should be extended to 10 am. Vacationers with children don't get up and out so early. Most.
Cant say enough about comfort of beds. Cleanliness of rooms and maid service.Friendliness of staff. Location of Hotel.
In-room dining was very average (portion/taste) for the price (100$+)
Great location, great room, great staff (Walter & Cesar in particular)!! Excellent value. We'll be back for sure.
Wish wifi was free. Complimentary breakfast rolls and fruit/cereal ran out quickly. If you want it, go before 8am!
enjoyed the beds, the nice size of the rooms, the location, the wonderful staff (particularly Chris the doorman). Would stay again!
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Occasionally high street noise.
Paying for wifi in 21st century is plain silly. Come on Michelangelo, sort it out.
Location, bed, room, staff
Room was large, very clean, well appointed. Nice bathroom , great shower. Good pastries on free continental breakfast, but you need to get there early enough, because they run out. Great location.
I agree with many other visitors that paying for WiFi in the rooms is ridiculous. I didn't; paid for a US simcard with data instead. in the few interactions I had with staff they were very helpful but the checkout was rather strange. When I had checked in, they added on 100USD per day for incidentals so when I checked out, I asked to see the bill so I could confirm the extras I had occurred. They seemed surprised and even more so when I asked to keep this bill. Neither was I asked if I had enjoyed my staff. Nor did anyone offer to help me with my luggage even though I had 2 suitcases plus a cabin case. Oh and the continental breakfast of pastries was dreadful. I went once and never again.
The location is outstanding especially if you intend to go to the theatre. I walked everywhere from the hotel and was so happy that I had chosen such a central spot. It is also very plush which I enjoyed and one night when I had late night drinks in the lobby bar, it was very pleasant. I was very fortunate to be upgraded to a junior suite which was most surprising but very much appreciated. There is a deli, think it's called Dukes, a few doors away, which is open 24/7 and which is great for fruit, water, even hot meals and sushi.
Staff exceptionally accommodating and friendly. Room upgrade awesome! 2 min. Walk to Radio City....I'd return here in a heartbeat! Nice job Michelangelo staff!
Like most hotels, not enough accessible outlets to plug things in.
Beautiful hotel. The staff was very friendly. Rooms were large and comfortable. We received a free upgrade. Check out was late so you didn't have to wake up early and rush out. Mini bar was amazingly stocked with everything you could want. Picture on flat screen TV was beautiful.
Haven't founf it yet
Very close to nice grocery store with nice hot bar and quick meals that kids enjoyed. Easy to stop at on our way to or from Central Park or Time Square.
I didn't like the fact we had to pay for the Internet. The breakfast was coffee and muffins
The front desk clerks were always very 'flat' and didn't seem to really have any umph.. as though they really didn't want to be there. The doorman was nice, but never there at the right times of the day/evening. I was given a very high room rate when I called down to the front desk/reservations to extend my stay a few days-- but when I looked on line I got it for about $150 less per night. Manager apologized and gave me some bs story, but simply was not right. Do not book through the hotel-- go to different hotel sites.
Rooms were pretty spacious and clean... and with a nice large walk-in closet (almost unheard of in NYC hotels). A much better value than where we'd been staying uptown (The Carlyle), but of course it lacked the darling Bemelmans bar, too ;) Nicely located in Time Square.
