The rooms were large for NYC and the boutique hotel had a lot of personality in contrast to the sea of corporate hotels. The location is a perfect central location to everything we wanted to do.
First time staying at this hotel, we had a wonderful experience, the staff was exceptional, room service was prompt, suite was spacious.
The only down fall was the room had a smell of grilled steak. Not terrible.
Love the ambiance, comfort, doormen, bellman concierge were very helpful and friendly.
No longer an I Prefer hotel, so our usual upgrade wasn't offered. Room was lovely but pocket door to bathroom was very heavy and difficult to manage as was high tub wall

The Michelangelo could not have been better for my specific purpose. I had a play to see in the theater district, a lunch with friends off of Central park, shopping etc. All very centrally located to this hotel. The facility itself meet all my needs for my one night stay. Very quiet and comfortable room, nicely appointed.
My only complaint was that I had uncertain cell phone/internet access from my room. It was fine when I got there but then faded throughout my stay.
The door man Cesar was the most hospitable employee on your staff. He was very pleasant at all times as was the male bartender.
The noise from the street all night long and some staff that was not all that friendly.
This hotel was an oasis of calm. It's something from an older New York, impeccably updated without the glitz. Call it quietly refined. Our room was spacious, quiet, and lovely to look at and the staff was welcoming and capable. There's a large and uncrowded bar/lounge in the lobby.
Location excellent, absolutely stunning lobby, beautiful room, nice small bar and food menu in lobby.
Our double King room was beautifully decorated and quite large. The walk-in closet and separate, well-lit vanity area were a pleasant surprise. The staff was friendly, courteous, and accommodating. And, of course, the hotel's close proximity to restaurants and theaters was an added plus. We would definitely stay here again.
Our only complaint, and it's a small one, is that there was no coffee-maker and complimentary coffee in the room. We never made it to the free continental breakfast, which ends at 9:00 AM. Our traveling companions requested and were provided with a coffee maker, but had to buy there own coffee. This isn't such a big deal, but it would be a nice addition.
I was charged for this hotel even though I canceled 4,days prior to arriving. I will never stay in this hotel or use booking.com ever again. I'm very unsatisfied.
excellent location, excellent staff, excellent room
limited complimentary breakfast, and only until 9am, and the charging of room to the credit card on arrival AND departure, with the first being refunded. Watch out - this affects your credit limit to spend in NYC.
The beds were fantastic very comfortable and the location is simply perfect
I liked it but felt it might have been a bit more luxurious .
Had five nights in hotel room cleaned to a very high and spotless standard , bed very comfortable and soft , on third floor and room very quite never heard any noise from outside , hotel staff very helpful from door staff to reception
Having to pay for wifi
Location and atmosphere
Price dropped by more than $100 and hotel would not give break because booking was made through booking.com. Would not even give a free breakfast which they could have easily done. Also tried to overcharge me for parking.
Position Clean & great maid service
All staff especially bar staff rude.
Management staff was accommodating, friendly and super helpful consistently b
In Manhattan, where quiet is unheard of (pun intended) our suite, on the 3rd floor, was a place for peace and tranquility with absolutely no discernible street noise. All of the staff encountered was very professional. If cleanliness is truly next to Godliness, then this must be heaven.
Very well appointed, very quiet, unique layout and no elevator delays. Location is fantastic. My wife loved it, and she's picky.
A/C was a little loud when it came on, however the temperature control and ventilation overall were top notch. This shouldn't deter you from staying here.
Location, location, location. Right near Times Square, Theatre district and short walk to Central Park. Close to the pick up point for hop on, hop off buses to access all of Manhattan. Room was well furnished with a 5 star bed.
My wife and myself were at the conclusion of a 2month holiday staying at various 4 and 5 star hotels throughout Britain and Europe. I found the reception not up to the standard expected of a 4 star hotel. Our room was close to the lifts and the lift bells were loud enough to inconveniently travel through the walls. The bathroom in the neighbouring room caused considerable noise in our room. Whenever the toilet flushed or someone showered, there was noticeable noise in our room.
Hotel location was excellent The room was fabulous The bed was very comfortable
Air con/Heater in the room would not go off so either too hot or too cold and noisy all night hence little sleep. Did report this to reception however no change.
The manager Marco was a particular delight and help.
That we were able to stay longer.
My friend and I stayed there while running the Marathon and it was perfect from location to amenities . We were upgraded to a beautiful corner room that had extremely comfortable beds and a big deep soaker tub that was essential for after our race. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. This was by far the best hotel experience I've had in NYC.
Spacious rooms, especially for New York Location, walkable to many of the main attractions Cleanliness
Room faced onto a brick wall so was dark at all times. Air conditioning very noisy at night. Drinks were extortionately expensive.
Very spacious rooms, quiet and very comfortable. Excellent location.
I felt as if I was bothering them. Well, New Yorkers are not friendly but I was thinking that a 4 star hotel staff would be different. Nobody asked you anything, it didn't bother me cause I like being left alone, but still, not even a good morning or hello and NOT EVEN - HOW WAS YOUR STAY? For over 300 dollars a night they could give you free WiFi in the rooms. Everyone was in the lobby connected, felt like a internet cafe. The 'complimentary' breakfast is worth 5 dollars, coffee and some mini pastries - and there's no hot chocolate in the hotel, not even at the bar. When I asked for one the answer was NO. Not - sorry but we don't do hot chocolate or we don't have, just plain NO. They sure need some training in that department.
The staff was outstanding! From the courteous check-in to the efficient and friendly housekeeping staff, I was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel was a welcome sanctuary from the bustling world surrounding it and was a welcome retreat at the end of the day.
