The first room I was assigned had no working lights, no air conditioning (on an 80 degree day with around 80% humidity), no TV remote, and the shower curtain rods was falling off the wall. My second room, the A/C barely worked. The entire hotel stinks of marijuana and mildew. The location is very poor, I was advised by the police to stay indoors after dark in that neighborhood.
There was a lady that works in the bar who is very sweet and a great cook. The hotel taxi driver is also very personable and pleasant to talk with. He will show you around the city if you ask.
Pool, hot tub, common areas dirty.( read beer cans floating in h. tub)
Very nice staff. On bus line, and central location good for low cab fares.
Lack of cleanliness. Hotel is old and smelt but it can be kept clean and in much better repair. Window stuffed with paper, TV on/off switch broken, sheets ..had they been changed? Bathroom and toilet dirty and no bath mat or hand towels left. Update website with true description .
Comfort of the bed
The first room we we assigned to had a hole in the ceiling that had been covered up but water had leaked down and stained the sheets / bed. One headboard was not even attached to the bed. Exterior paint was flaking off the wood of the rear of the hotel. There is a $25 fee if you want to check-in early.
The front desk agreed to move us to another room.
I was sick and could not make it there, they took all my deposit of 380.00.with no help from them. I'll never stay there again.
However in the evening, upon returning from the Festival, another receptionist (Niko ? ) was utterly rude! ...even dumped the towels on the floor outside my room when I told her there was insufficient towels left in the room n requested for them. No coffee in the room...nor reception after about 6 pm. Toilet blocks from time to time...yet not serviced.
The shuttle provided by Mike. Tahiti and another served remarkably upon check in and even went out of her way....despite the lack of facilities..hence,room was still dark.
The mattress had mildew on it there was this huge spot on the carpet that looked like dried vomit and bugs
The layout of the hotel
I hate this place they are horrible and it is horrible never come here
A blow dryer and an iron isn't standard. I asked for one twice and never got it. The response was a nice way of saying I was S.O.L There were what looked like fresh blood stains on the carpet. There's no curtains so the bright light comes in on the morning. The ice machine and soda machine did not work on the 4th floor. Our breaker went out so we didn't have light in the room one night.
The air conditioning finally started working the second day.
The Cafe had yummy deep fried porkchops! Nice like 200 feet from the pubic bus RTA stop! Lots of hot water a good thing too!!
Lack of towels and no breakfast.
A good hotel on a funky street close to downtown New Orleans. The place is undergoing a major facelift which will make it even better.
Room was very dirty, towels were wet and dirty. Just not clean all the way around.
Run down carpets and fittings
Location Helpful staff
Tacky bedsheets lol
the homemade breakfast. I was so hungover yet it was so delicious and simple
It was cheap.
We arrived and they had no staff to clean the rooms from previous guest. Slept for 2 hours in reception while they sorted it. Then when we finally were invited to check in I got really told off by an ultra rude man (trying to be an alpha male) on reception who told me off for not producing my booking code within 20 seconds when they should have been just apologising for the mess up. It really is as bad as the reviews say and I never normally pay attention to things like that. Find somewhere else.
It was cheap
Everything is not good, espishally the bed and the staff
Please do not come nothing is good
Dirty, cockroaches, neighborhood not so great
shower head was rusty, toilet had pee stains, towels seemed dirty (spider leg and hair on towel) room smelt like cigarette smoke, door lock from inside did not work, overall dirty/dusty, missing lamp shade, no convenient outlet by bed, my room key didn't work the next day, staff not friendly. I guess you get what u pay for, it was pretty cheap.
Pretty bad location. If you use your head you will be fine. For example, if you are going to return late take a cab.
The town stinks and the hotel is awful.
I didn't like it.
For this money what is there not to like
Clean room, free parking, shuttle into town
The hotel is from the 1950s with no renovation
I liked only booking 1 night
We were not used to an inner city environment but everything turned out OK.
The staff were very helpful in advising us about how to get around town. I liked the fact that they were restoring an older building and not just tearing it down. This hotel was very quiet and safe.
