The Modern Honolulu    

Valet and front desk were so friendly and pleasant. The level of service for the entire time we stayed was the best I've ever had. Servers at the pool were equally good.

I liked everything.

I love the decor and the cool design features of the hotel generally. The rooms are bright with very comfortable beds. The pools are fabulous - there were always plenty of lounges available. The gym is well-equipped. The reception staff were very accommodating and were quick to attend to my requests.

1--No Hawaiian flavor. Hotel could be located anywhere. HI not depicted in decor. 2--Concierge not so knowledgeable on local attractions, things to see, or pro-active recommending. 3--Room service did not fullfil request to bring ice to the room.

Super friendly staff-from desk clerks to runners to room service; the room was modern and tasteful, great for work, and very comfortable and peaceful; the pools are lovely; room service was great; above all, it is a beautiful boutique hotel which is much nicer than any surrounding accommodations and for a better price. I couldn't recommend it any more highly!

The staff were fantastic, friendly and very helpful when needed. The facilites were excellent including the rooms. We had a great time.

If I had to criticise, and it is hard, the only thing I would say is that we did not have a balcony in our twin room which was a shame. But we had a great view.

Awoken twice in middle if night, once by staff at 3am. Accosted by person outside the hotel and screamed at

excellent staff,very friendly and helpful...I`ll go as far as saying the most helpful staff we have ever had in any hotel! Good location near shops and restraunts. Very nice rooms most with sea views.

More of a business hotel as most of the people there were on a convention. Bars and restraunts had no atmosphere so we ate out every night.Although the hotel was in a nice location it does have roads on three sides and as the hotel doesn`t have double glazing it can be very noisy..we were on the 11th floor and could hear the traffic and people on the street below.so if you like quiet hotels this is not for you.

Being away from the main beach but close enough .Also close to shopping at Ala moana.Pool and bar set up was great and staff chatty and friendly.Will return for sure

Little slow with service at breakfast on first day but after that no problems.

The room design is simple, clean and modern. The location is good for shopping. The staff is very friendly.

1. At least 15 minutes after I checked in, my lugguage just arrived at my room. 2. I was arranged on 5th floor, and it was quite noisy. And actually when i booked the room, i asked for "high level".

Shower had mildew and grime. Morimoto wasn't money for value nor was it al la carte. Staff was ok- didn't have computers for guests free of charge- they charge you for it while hyatt place does not charge you for it nor did hyatt place have grimey showers. Spa was over priced.

This is a 1st class hotel. The staff was awesome and because this was our 1st trip to Oahu they helped us greatly.

Expensive not tasty breakfast, medium grade food

Location is great and staff are very good.

Rooms are not isolated, can hear everything from outside even doors are closed.

The modern is a very nicely designed hotel, all balconies look onto the marina and ocean as well as the city, the upgraded prices just get you closer to the Oceanside rather than the city side (which is pretty noisy). We were closer to the city side and still loved it, although we enjoy busy cities. We had our 15 month old daughter with us and never had a problem here at all.

Service, modern pool and rooms, entertainment

I liked the general atmosphere and the friendly staff are very welcoming. The pool area is wonderful to relax in after a busy day sightseeing and shopping. The rooms were very clean and the turndown nightly service was excellent too.

One suggection is to put a ramp in the front entrance so as not to have to drag a suitcase up the stairs...I realise you usually have staff on duty ..but at my early arrival there was temporarily no one there.

Modern and chic. Walking distance to shopping and beach

My room was at the corner of the building at 6th floor. Couldn't sleep first night because of the noise outside (traffic) and inside (ac). Then got use to it by keeping the tv sound on until too tired to sleep

The service, decor, position were all outstanding. Great for an overnight stay or a few days rest en route to and from Australia.

The only single item which appeared out of place in the remarkable decor was the provision of polystyrene cups for the in room coffee and tea service. I understand this is a new service and perhaps this defect will be remedied by the time we return. The tea selection was very limited, only herbals. English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey are a must for Australian and British guests. Coffee was great but many of us are also tea drinkers.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and modern. Hotel staff were very friendly, pool was amazing and drinks and good by the pool good! Good location, close to Ala Moana shopping mall and still easy Malik g distance to main tourist strip in Waikiki.

Water pressure in the shower was not very strong.

I loved the ambience of the hotel, boutique style decor. Staff were excellent. Pool was fantastic sun all day and food at pool bar was great. View from the sea view was amazing very close to the beach and food restaurants around. Would reccomend to couples not really for families with young kids due to quiet atmosphere.

Maybe coffee maker in room would have been useful but complimentary coffee was available from room service.

I like the modern feel of the hotel and the white and grey decor. The pools and balcony. Great location.

Room 614 shower would go from hot to cold while showering. The maintenance person looked at it but didn't fix anything. The staff took reasonable steps to 'make it right' but it wasn't a showstopper for us.
