Free wifi internet access and coffee and muffins in the morning were excellent. Location was fantastic. Good basic hotel and good price compared with others in the area. Felt safe as a solo female traveller. Alot of noise from the street but I asked for a room in the centre of the hotel, as recommended, and this minimised the noise. Also, beware the taxes and charges that are added above the cost quoted on the website - the cost is much more than it appears online.

I liked most of my stay (3 nights) and I thought the share bath/shower was ok, the room was great, very clean and sufficient for me... the bad part was at the very end... I thought it was weird that when I gave the guy my credit card, he had to get an imprint onto the receipt (which I hadn't seen in years) and then I was in a hurry signed the paper, took my copy and left... he had the credit card on the imprinting machine and forgot to return to me... so now it is Thursday, I called them on Tuesday, I was told they didn't have my information (which I am sure they did have throught booking.com), I left my phone someone was supossed to call me back and I never heard from them, I called them on Wed and I gave the guy my address so I am assuming the cc will be getting to my address by Friday... If not I will be really upset...So if you stay there, make sure you get your credit card back before you leave the hotel...

The hotel is a great option for visiting San Francisco. It is well placed to go jsut about everywhere in the city, especially walking or taking the bart, subway, buses, or Trolleys. Some people have complained that the rooms are small, but they are well designed and very well organized. I would suggest to older individuals and those who did not travel as youth in pensions to take the rooms with the full baths. The price is really reasonable for down town sf. I did not find the hotel noisy and I found the staff helpful. I would stay there again and will recommend the hotel to my firends.

If you are looking for a fancy, luxury hotel this isn't it. However, if you are looking for a comfortable hotel in a great location with helpful and freindly staff, with good rates then this is for you. I was traveling as a single woman. I felt completely safe in the area and it was close to the BART and other transit systems that made it easy to get around. My room was neat and clean and all the hotel staff from service staff to front desk were very friendly and helpful. I ended up having to cut my trip short due to a family emergancy and the staff at the hotel made what was a very stressful time a lot easier by helping me with what ever I needed. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will be staying there again on my next trip to San Francisco.

Exactly what you need for a weekend at a good price. It's like a nice hostel. Expensive parking in the neighborhood and valet at the hotel was horrendous... Better sans a vehicle.

I was booked for a single room with a shared bathroom but was offered a special rate to upgrade to an internal bathroom for $20 a night. A fair deal. The room was clean and very comfortable with modern amenities. The bed was large and very comfortable too, with many pillows which is always a plus. Coffee, tea and biscuits are served complementary in the lobby in the morning which was a nice touch. The hotel is located on a very busy side street in San Francisco and all through the night one can hear fire sirens, police sirens and ambulance sirens constantly going by. The windows are not double glazed and all the street noise can be heard loud and clear throughout the night, even from the 7th floor where my room was situated. The hotel is not for light sleepers.

The location was excellent. The room was not big, but it was big enough for the two of us. The muffins in the morning was very good. Our neighbours was really loud, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves

Very clean room & hotel. Big window that brightly lit room. Had back room toward alley that was amazingly quiet. Very small room w/ bed against wall. Poor internet connection in room. Good in lobby

Rooms were very clean but very compact. Location was excellent and nearby main attractions. We were concerned about the shared bathroom but this was close to the room, clean and always available.

The staff was friendly, helpful and gave great suggestions on what to do in the city as well as how to navigate on bart. The room was small but perfect for me since I was traveling solo. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and I never had to wait to use the shower. Location is about a block from union square park and excellent shopping, old navy, ross, adiddas, and incase you forgot the basics... Walgreens... Hotel also provided samples of excellent products including razors, lotion and hair products! I would stay here again!!! My reservation was lost and took about half an hour to resolve which was inconvenient as I was on a time schedule. I did get up to use the restroom late at night to find that it appeared as if someone vomited and attempted to clean it (poor attempt) the restroom smelled badly and when I tried to contact front desk there was no one availiable. Request a room in the center as even off 4th street rooms are quite noisy! The bell man from the mariott and his whistle can drive a person insane.

Excellent location - walking distance to everything. Reasonable rates. Clean. I was in the city for a business trip with 07:00 meetings at another location. The blow dryer was not working in my room. I checked the "reset" button as I know how to operate this type of unit. It was not working at all. I went to the front desk the morning of Saturday, October 15th at 06:15am. There was a Filipino man in his early 30's at the desk. I told him the problem. He called a young black man to go to the basement to find another blow dryer. The black man told him he did not know where to find them downstairs, but went anyway. Of course he returned stating he couldn't find anything. The Filipino man then left the desk, went downstairs, and returned, stating to me "they did not have any extra blow dryers". Very frustrating. He made this seem like my problem. Mosser Hotel needs extra blow dryers as back-ups in the event of failure of one in the rooms. Front desk staff need to be more polite. He was rude. He said "what do you suggest"? I asked him what does he suggest? Meanwhile, 15 minutes were lost and I had an 07:00 business meeting at another location 20 minutes away! He then offered me an empty clean room to blow dry my hair. It was a reasonable solution that happened to work because the room by rare chance happened to be empty. Not a permanent solution to this simple problem! Have spare blow dryers and tell all your staff where they are, including the "go-fors"! Problem #2 - At initial check-in, the front desk staff (?)Filipino young woman did not get my signature on the sign-in form. It is their duty to check that the sign-in form is completed properly. It is your form and travelers are often tired or jet-lagged. As a result, I was locked out of my room (room key did not work) and had to come to the desk. Please train your front desk staff in customer service and to be thorough. Problem #3 - On my last day of stay, returning from meetings in the early morning, my room key did not work again.

It was very quite and the staff was EXCELLENT!! Even though we were very nervous about using a shared restroom and shower...it was very clean and easy!! We will keep you guys in mind when we return to San Francisco. Thanks for making a somewhat scary unknown situation into a very romantic evening. I have no complaints!!! A+++++

The location was great; close to both bart trains and the Moscone West Conference Center. The rooms were clean and fresh. The staff were warm and professional. This hotel is not the best choice for light sleepers in need of restful sleep. The heaters in our room were old and were the source of considerable clanking during the night. It sounded like a wrench clanging against a pipe. I'm usually a sound sleeper and this woke me up. My roommate had trouble getting restful sleep because he is a light sleeper. The room tended to be a bit warm and we found that we had to open more than 1 window to keep the room cool throughout the night. Sleeping with the windows open, however, let in city noise which would also be an issue for a light sleeper.

“Hotel Milano was great! It's located directly next to the Nordstrom, so great location. A boutique hotel, but the room we stayed in was super comfortable and QUIET. Wonderful for an overnight get away for a couple without their kids. We will probably stay there again and bring the kids. Great value. I would highly recommend it!” Shelley, Danville |
