very clean, gracious and accomodating staff, reasonably priced, good location
rooms are tiny, no storage for clothing or in bathroom. rooms can be noisy
Great location, reasonably priced, concierge was v.helpful and recommended a really gd restaurant. Wi-fi worked and room was clean.
The room was quite small but the location, price and cleanliness made up for it.
Lovely bed Nice room Wifi in room Friendly staff In Market Square Can get in and out 24 hours with use of a key -more safe
Bit expensive Only food for breakfast were muffins Didn't realise it was shared toilets and bathrooms -maybe my fault for not reading properly but I didn't see this when booking
The room was very nice, bed was comfortable. Liked having coffee in the lobby each morning. Great location.
Somewhat noisy but not too bad.
The location was right on. We were right by Union Square and were able to find cheap(er) parking in the lot across from us. Small but cute room, great for two and the shared bathroom was hilarious (well, at least for me). Breakfast muffins were yum and coffee, as well. Great experience over all.
Great location, easy to enter and exit hotel.
My single corner room was a bit stuffy and quite small. The tv reception was poor and room doors banged loudly when closing.
For a central location in SF at a fair price you cannot do better.
The atmosphere and ambience was good, staff friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and part of the place
The room was a little claustraphobic. We were a little too old and spoiled to appreciate simply being in San Francisco anywhere. The central location was good though.
Small room, but it is enough for alone travel. Clean shared bathroom and toilet.
The location is quite central to the public transport and shopping. I felt quite comfortable out on the street.
The walls are thin and the room quite small, but I expected that from reading reviews.
All modes of transportation nearby. Great restaurant with bar with friendly bar tenders.
My room was in a corner with a window that opened into a space enclosed by buildings. I didn't care about no view, but it was difficult to get cool air into the room.
location and wi-fi quality
very small room
Location was super.. In the heart of union square where all the restaurants and shopping area are just couple of blocks away. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Fisherman's wharf is down the street, 15-20mins walking. Clean and the room's furniture is in a very good condition
Room was small.. We were 2 girls, me and my best friend, with our luggage inside the room there was no space to move. The bed isn't made for people to flip, you have to stick where u held your head or else you'll wake the person sleeping next to you. The sink was tiny, the water can easily be skipped outside while washing your face. In other words, its perfect as a single room but not more than one- although its deluxe double room!. But the good news is they do have bigger ones as we saw thru the corridor, just make sure to mention this when you book!
My room was small but it suited me just fine as a solo traveler. It was very clean and updated for a beautiful Victorian of its age!!This is the second time I've stayed there because it's centrally located, right next to the F line.My number one concern is cleanliness, safety and friendliness and they match all three. I will stay there again when I visit San Francisco again!
It's noisey but what do you expect, it's in the heart of the city and every city is 24 hours of hustle & bustle.I will be a repeat customer as I have been in the past!
Excellent location, Nice decor
Desk staff could be a little friendlier.
3 minutes from Powel St Cable Car 1 minute from Starbucks Valet Parking Friendly Staff
Having to leave
Location, character and history, familiar (comparison with others around), cossy, little breakfast in the morning, people
Heater in August. Impossible to remove it in my room and need to open window and fan on, even with that, too hot with old type heater that keeps warm for very long. As European it is a shock to heat in August(16º is not cold). Not very environment friendly!..and I was afraid about the airconditioning missing in the hotel!
Bathrooms Toilets Size of the rooms
Staff very friendly and helpful Good location
Despite double windows very noise Difficult if not impossible to open windows (seems to be in lots of rooms) Thin walls and lots of noise from the hallway Only blinds, no curtains and large window above door, so very light at night making it difficult to sleep
Location and easiness of the place. Good clean and well kept all over. Very good location for everything you might want to do.
Had a sagging mattress in the middle.
friendly staff. clean rooms. great location
Friendly service and central location justify price
Small room, sharing bathroom/WC, and noise on street outside during night
Location and clean amenities
Noise! People slamming doors every night and early morning
Great staff, nice bath crystals, clean crisp sheets, muffins for breakfast.
Noisy! From outside! Morning coffee, the taste was weak.
Close to the event that I was attending and they offer free beverages and muffins in the morning for breakfast.
The room advertisement was misleading. I was looking to rent a room with 2 double beds for my friend and I to share. When we got there and checked into our room there was one bed and the room was very small. When I inquired what happened I was told that they didn't have 2 double bed rooms at that hotel just rooms with two twin beds. What grown adult rents a hotel room with twin beds? We rented the double bed delux room which at any other hotel in the U.S. normally means 2 double beds (most offer 2 written beds) but apparently this hotel meant one bed that was a double size. To accommodate us we had to get a roll away bed for an extra $15 a night (on top of the $200+ a nt for the room) but it barely for into the small room. We couldn't open the door we had to squeeze in and crawl over the bed. There was no air conditioning In the room so it was very hot and it was very cramped in there. On top of that it's a mandatory valet service which was $46 a day. You had to call for your car at least an hour in advance. And since there was a parade the second day of our stay and the roads were blocked I had to still pay full price for valet but walk over 2 miles with my bags to pick up my own vehicle. Not impressed with the price, service or facilities. Would not stay there again.
