Very good location. Good business hotel. Excellent value for money. The construction work is finished now which is great. The hotel lobby is always very very busy so sometimes there is a line at reception. |

This is in the perfect location. We were struggling to find a hotel as we had never been to New York before and did not know any of the areas. A friend recommended this hotel and it did not fail. The staff were lovely ( we had to change rooms due to noise from the room next door!) they gave us another room straight away looking at the Empire State Building. The hotel is immaculate and amazing value for money! The Bar was a tad too small as when it is busy it is hard to get a seat ( this is my only very minor complaint !) |

location was great. close to Times Square and Grand Center station and all major shopping No breakfast included and no coffee maker in the room. Windows do not really seal well so can be little noisy if facing the main street. |

A very good city centre hotel. The rooms were comfortable, a decent size, and competitively priced. I never used any of the hotel's facilities (bar, restaurant, gym, etc), but I would recommend the Helmsley to anyone who wants a well-situated hotel at an affordable price. |

This hotel was in a great position, near to a lot of the attractions. Within walking distance to a lot of places including times square and central park. We were on the 34th floor and had a great view of the chrysler building. The hotel was expensive for eating in but there are lots of cafes nearby for breakfast. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would go back in a minute. there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room and no drinks machines on any of the floors |

Pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. Very clean and spacious room and the hotel has great access to Grand Central Terminal and, therefore, NY City transit. Price was ridiculously low for quality of hotel. |

the locality was excellent it would have been really helpful to have coffee facilities in the room - also the television was not in the TV cabinet, so the top half of this piece of furniture was redundant & looked a bit silly! There were renovation works on the floor above us which woke us at 9 one morning. |

Good value for money. There is basically nothing wrong with it. Friendly staff One of the doormen yelled at us for forgetting to tip him after he had hailed a cab for us. Tipping people for every little gesture takes a while to get used to for Europeans. In Europe people are not normally tipped for doing their job as they are paid for it. |

Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, great view from the room window and good food in the restaurant. I would definitely stay in the New York Helmsley again. There were no tea making facilites in the room, also no slippers in the room. |

I enjoyed how the staff was very helpful with all of our questions, etc. I didn't like the aspect that we booked a king size bed online and upon arrival were given a room with 2 double beds. Also you couldn't control the temp settings to the room. If you're one who likes to sleep when it's cold, as we do, you didn't have that option. |

This is my second visit to the hotel as I stayed in December 07 also. I think the rooms are excellent and the staff are friendly and courteous. Everywhere was very clean and comfortable. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to other people and no doubt will be returning some time in the future My only small point was that the heating in the room was not always sufficient to warm it fully. However this was a minor inconvenience and in no way impaired our enjoyment. |
