The people were great. The place is quiet. It was comfortable. I would do it again.
The breakfast was too fancy for us. We are more of a meat and potatoes couple.
Room near road traffic
Charming setting. Owners are friendly and proud of their B and B. Queen size bed was comfortable.
a little small for 2 tall adults.... no space to open our luggage except in middle of living area floor.
The house was lovely. Well decorated and very comfortable. Everything we need was supplied along with extras. A coffee/tea area was provided upstairs along with stemless wine glasses and a wine opener. :) The linens, towels and robes were fresh and soft. The owners Tom and Stephanie were great to chat with but very respectful of the privacy of their guests. My husband and I very much enjoyed our two nights in this lovely old house.
A very comfortable stay in a town that offers little for a tourist. The innkeepers provided a cozy and quiet rest as we travelled up the coast of Oregon.
The property was well kept, the cottage cozy and lovingly decorated, the breakfast was wonderful. Our hostess was very eager to give us information about the area and the hopes for further tourist development near her B&B.
It was a little off the beaten track and was situated along a main road in town. But the host had us stay in a cottage at the outer edge of the property where she said the room was quiet. It was not near the main restaurant part of town but near a bay within very easy walking distance.
The owner is very nice and presents a beautiful, copious breakfast. She also offered some historical information about the area and provided us with ideas for the next day. The house is fun to explore. There is a lot to see.
We could hear the traffic outside.
Wonderful house, great hostess, good breakfast, comfortable bed.
When weather is warm, windows open, the all night traffic noise is intense. Not your place if you like "uncluttered"--there are typical Victorian collections everywhere, lamps are draped in lace, multiple covers etc etc.
Comfortable stay in ivy cabin Had everything you could need.host and host were very hospitable
Location was not perfect but acceptable
We stayed in the cottage which was very quaint. Very relaxing and peaceful. Very close to the state parks with spectacular views and Charleston where we went crabbing. Hostess was extremely friendly and breakfast was fantastic.
Great hosts and delicious breakfast! We were made to feel very welcome.
Everything was just as expected with a welcoming host who had time for a chat. I would highly recommend this B&B and would have liked to have stayed longer.
Leaving after only one night!
The charm of the home
Bar noise from across the street a bit distracting
It was an incredible place to stay, even for just a few days. As a new explorer of Coos Bay it was a welcoming, centralized location to all I wanted to begin experiencing in the area. Definitely will stay there again.
Circuit breaker tripped in the newly renovated Crew's Quarters while using the hair dryer. Not a biggy, and didn't happen again.
The Ivy room was comfortable and as described.
Rooms were decorated with a rather cluttered style, with scary stuffed granny dolls.
Delicious breakfasts. An exceptionally friendly and welcoming hostess.
The house was very close to the lagoon/bay so it was a lovely walk down to the water and along the jetty. There is a small café across the road where you can get something to drink and eat in the evening if need be. We did not try it we went into town instead. The beds were extremely comfortable and there was little road noise in the evening although the house is on what appears to be a main road. The breakfast was very good and the owner extremely likeable and friendly.
The house itself is extremely old which adds a charm of its own, however I was a bit disturbed about the amount of bric a brac and Victorian décor. We arrived extremely late in the afternoon after a long drive and it would have been nice to have been able to have a cup of coffee or tea offered to us. Lastly, unfortunately being that bit more mature in age along with my 75 yr. old mother, we assumed that we both had a bathroom on suite, so we were a bit taken aback at the fact that the restrooms were at the end of the landing. It was obviously not clear to me that this was the situation when booking online.
Exactly what you'd expect from a good B&B; welcoming hosts, a comfortable environment, and great communication. That was topped off with a great breakfast and stimulating conversation.
Nothing at all. Everything was great.
Food, company, bed, great shower
Friendliest hosts I've ever met!
The owners have really put their souls into this place, and their collections of mostly Victorian items are everywhere in this vintage and historic house. The rooms are like museum pieces! Breakfast was very substantial and served with real, courtesy. It's a very old school place that would thrill antique lovers and collectors. It is a really old house, but everything works well.
The area, like much of the Oregon Coast has been leveled economically by the Bush Recession. The B&B is like an oasis in this part of what's left of Empire, or. We're it not for a great new restaurant across the street (the Old Empire Cafe), we'd have been at a loss for what to do for dinner.
great food, gracious hosts
Coos Bay feels like a ghost town. This B&B is probably in as good a location as possible within the town, but will look for more interesting spots outside of town next time.
Friendly host, potato-egg dish was tasty.
Door to cottage did not close easily, room, linens were extremely overscented, space felt rather small for the price.
Quaint cottage was so cute and comfortable as well. Best two nights in a two week vacation.
