location near the ocean, along with ocean views. Room was generally clean and bed comfortable
The property shows some of its age. Room entrances are sliding glass doors and they look to be 20-30 years old.
I liked how big and spacious the room was. It was quiet and that's was good. We got a king and it was roomy. Super close to the beach and it's in a quiet neighborhood.
It is in a quiet neighborhood but it's a bit aways from the main road. And if it wasn't that it was close to the beach, a hotel like that wouldn't have cost me 300 for a weekend.
not much. Coming up again in a few months for a week. Will not be staying at this property.
Room had broken luggage rack. Bathroom and sink area way too small for family. Bad lighting in room. Heat control hidden very very difficult to see heating or cooling. Parking was the most problem of all. Forget trying to eat a muffin in breakfast "room" no room..
Beautiful view of the ocean. Deer outside my room. Good heat. Great bed. Nice deck with chairs.
Pillows aren't great so I brought my own.
Better T.v. reception/ sound Better heating service
Quiet location but easy access to coastal views, restaurants & shops, aquarium etc. Only a short walk to lighthouse and coastal trail. Afternoon cookies in the office is a nice touch!
Two queen beds in the room made it a little crowded and awkward to walk out to the balcony. Not an especially spacious room, but that's a minor point.
Comfortable mattress and clean bedding. Housekeeping very polite and efficient. Staff in lounge very friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy to find. Breakfast was varied. Location was ideal: within walking distance to beautiful Point Pinos, the light house, the butterfly grove, and the adorable Pacific Grove downtown. Though I was running the half marathon with a starting destination a couple miles away, this location had so much to offer, and it was very easy to navigate into downtown Monterey.
Inconveniences, but not trip ruining points. Foot of the bed frame is a hazard (difficult to see and will likely cause a good deal of tripping or minor bruises!) Wi-Fi was poor the entire time and from every location. Facilities-wise: very few electrical outlets, broken shutters, missing cabinet doors.
Was close to Pacific Grove golf course.
Being awakened at 10:00 pm by front desk to ask us a question that had already been answered earlier.
Relaxing atmosphere indoors and out! Loved it!
That I couldn't stay longer! = (
The room is large and spacious as well as clean.
We had a nice room with a view of the ocean and a private balcony. It was good size and comfortable.
the shower head barely worked...
Great room and bed. Little peak-a-boo views of the ocean/bay. Pleasant setting and quiet. Too bad there is no elevator. Wifi was a little spotty and weak. For our purpose of the visit it worked fine
location and a very friendly staff
The lodge felt like we were glamping. Tons of deer. The beach was close very convenient. Very clean!!
The Only one entry into our room was through the sliding glass door. No ventilation. If you left the door open with just the screen people would look in as they walked by.
We had a problem with a clogged toilet in the evening (it was already around 9 p.m.). We left for dinner, and by the time we came back, all was fixed.
Breakfast was good but very crowded in the lobby (there weren't enough chairs for everybody to sit on and by far too little tablespace).
I could hear every word my neighbors said, both in the hotel and the apartments next door. I could hear my neighbors snoring all night. Woke up at 2am to hear rodents scurrying around inside the walls. Yikes! I've stayed at several other area hotels and all were preferable and more affordable than this.
Comfortable motel in good position.
Nothing to complain about
view, clean room, location
The staff were super nice and helpful and the location was great! The room itself was okay but no air conditioner that we could see or find - only heat, not needed in summer.
The price. Usually when I spend $200 a night the accommodations are outstanding and this was only okay. On our entire PCH road trip from San Diego to San Francisco in July 2014, this place was the most expensive and the least nice in terms of the accommodations. If the price were more reasonable, I'd stay again but I would look for a nicer and better deal first the next time I'm in the area.
Beautiful Location. Could even see the Ocean. Staff responded to concerns.
Security consisted of sliding glass doors with cheap locks.Little privacy because ventilation requires opening the door. Bathroom very small. Slow draining pluming. Pillows too soft. Trash can very small and only one in the room.
The room was adequate for our family of four and reasonably comfortable as a base for sleeping and showering. When I requested a second pillow each, these were provided. Adequate continental breakfast if you arrived early, basic provisions if you got up later as the more choice items ran out quickly! Small breakfast area but we enjoyed taking breakfast back to eat on our terrace - we would have liked 4 chairs instead of two so that we could all sit down together on the terrace.
Tiny bathroom - even the wash basin is in the bedroom as it won't fit in the bathroom. Very thin walls, so sound travels. No frills or luxuries - it was very dated and felt quite basic, especially in comparison with the other places we stayed on our trip - and we felt we got better value for money elsewhere. We did not need the swimming pool but could have been disappointed to find it out of action if we had expected to use it.
Close to the beach. Comfortable room and bed.
No air conditioning. It was hot and stuffy in the room.
Great location, very helpful staff, especially Erna. Enjoyed using the patio.
A bit noisy, I could hear the upstairs neighbors walking above us, and TV from next-door neighbors.
OK place, bit distant from both Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf but nice location. Coolest thing was the pool - and it was closed for some reason! At night a dozen raccoons came to hang out at the pool, climbed the fence, had a great time and we got to watch them from the second floor - very cool ... so, hotel OK, racoons awesome!
