TO START THIS RESORT IS NOT FOR OLD PEOPLE, THERE IS NO ELEVATOR TO GET TO 2ND OR 3RD FLOOR, THEY HAVE A PIANO BUT NO PLAYER, THE FOOD IS 50/50 i COULD HAVE A NEW ROOM AT SLS RESORT FOR THE SAME MONEY AND MORE AMMENITIES
On Mt. Charleston -- but . . . near base, not top, and next to construction, and bright signs by road obliterate night sky.
Basically old and making money off weddings and other parties. Obnoxiously loud music (live band) in party room next to lobby and restaurant. Speaking of restaurant, service was beyond amazingly slow. Every table (maybe 4 or 5 in whole place) was complaining.
I stayed the night before my wedding in July. The honeymoon suite was really lovely, spacious and comfortable and had plenty of room for the hair and make up people. The staff were very friendly and the location is great. It's the idyllic place for a wedding.
It does need a refurb in the main areas for sure. We also couldn't get room service as they were short staffed. It took 20 mins to do toast for 3 people and we had to collect it. We ate on the restaurant and the food was nice but it took 30mins for a salad. Staff were really lovely but there just isn't enough of them. It's a shame this total gem is being let go.
Well known getaway in the mountains above Las Vegas.
It was empty
Access to great scenery
The place is a bit long in the tooth on service and cleanliness. The carpet is about 5 years past its useful life. The place kinda has you captive, given its 17 mile jaunt from civilization. The restaurant has some serious problems...either understaffed or bad attitudes amongst staff. It was a bad experience for us. We originally booked three nights and we left after the first night... couldn't see spending my hard-earned money on bad service, stinky carpet (especially stairways) and poor service. We headed to Hampton Inn/West Las Vegas-Summerlin and thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay! Until this MtCharleston gets fresh management and a complete facelift, skip it...,
Cool climate compared to Las Vegas
NO wi if limited despite being advertised, talked to staff, coverage is continually bad, cell coverage is limited.
Location Scenic views Good beds
No Wifi available
Staff was nice!
Food service was awful, waiting a half hour just for coffee! The balcony in the room had no chairs to sit on plus it was like a cube. Bathrooms needed to be cleaned
Location and food was great!
Front desk staff need customer service training. Specifically, being sure to greet guests as soon as they approach the front desk. Also, Wi-Fi did not work.
location, authentic ski lodge foyer with log chiminee
rice that came with filet steak was hardly cooked.
Overbilled at checkout.
The restaurant was good. We had two meals there, and food and service was good.
No elevator. Long walk through the lobby and up 3 flights of stairs. Not recommended for the elderly or infirm. There was no offer of assistance from staff. Even though Wi-Fi was advertised, it was not available even in the lobby. Paid $20.00 extra for balcony, and balcony was only big enough to fit one chair, and no chair was provided.
The bar staff were nice. The manager shouted breakfast to help ease out irritation (in the bar area cause the restaurant was being used by the conference guests) Was clean and comfortable.
The hotel was booked out with a conference when we arrived. All other normal guests seemed to be excluded from the restaurant and the front desk staff were busy sorting out all their rooms and we felt like we were a nuisance to them. We arrived a bit early and the front desk staff were extremely unhelpful with any early check in or suggestions of things to do for a couple of hours. This place Is advertised as resort and spa but there is no spa treatments offered on site. We expected to relax and enjoy a great atmosphere and maybe a massage, but instead we were told we could only use the bar area for dining and there is nothing else to do unless you like tramping. Plus no lift.
there was nothing much to do
The room was nice. The bar staff were hilarious.
Wifi did not work at all anywhere. There was a big private function on so we couldn't use the hotel restaurant. We had to go into the bar. Not really what we wanted but had no choice. The manager was pretty reasonable and offered us a free round of drinks with dinner and free breakfast.
Lobby bar and restaurant all very nice however room needed to be updated.
No coffee in room when asked clerk where I could get a cup early (before 7am) she was rude acted like I was bothering her and then got a cup of way overpriced coffee. So much for customer service. Resort with no pool.
comfort, clean rooms, good food, good service, price
nothing to do after 9, maybe a casino could help
The in-room heater Shirley the housekeeper was the only friendly person in the hotel.
The internet didn't work at all for the 3 days. There was no coffee machine in the room. When we arrived in the room; we had one cake of soap, half a toilet roll, a hand towel instead oh a bath mat to stand on (after getting out of the shower). No information on the surrounding area at all! We ordered french fries from the restaurant to pick up, it took then 20-25mins to receive. The hosts are very rude; not helpful. No elevator to get to the upper floors - had lots of luggage, no help offered.
It was near the Las Vegas Ski Resort. 15 minutes by car. Staff was friendly and nicely decorated for Christmas. It looks like they are working on improving it. Nice lobby fireplace and cozy lodge atmosphere.
They advertise on their website that they are in "The Winter Season" with pictures of snow everywhere. There were only very small traces on the ground, compared to the ski resort which is much higher up in the mountains.
The scenery, the fireplace, the snow.
Small room, no coffee pot or microwave in the room. Small tub, the noise of people running up and down the stairs, and no table to sit at in the room.
The staff were great (Robert and Gina) Great location, Great value,Great weather, Great views, and a great oasis from the hustle of Vegas and only 40 minutes north up NV 95.
Nothing it was all good
The mountain view
Great restaurant in the hotel. Close to Las Vegas (20 minutes drive). Excellent location in the mountains. Comfortable room.
The facilities are used and although being clean you can feel the impact of time to the room. Great mountain view was spoiled by extremely dirty windows.
Enjoyed the friendlyness and professioalism of your employees. Celebrated our 22 yr anniversary with a stay and dinner.
Was not impressed with the balcony in the room. Expected to find an area where we could sit down to enjoy the night but instead we found a 3x4 cube.
