location, parking and excellent staff
- There was a strange smell in the room, i had to leave the window open. - Old furniture
The central location, very helpful staff, Easy to walk to most places.
NO AIR CONDITIONING, ROOM WAS MUSTY, HAD TO REQUEST COFFE POT, IRON,& FAN (to big for the window). BREAKFAST WAS A JOKE, ONLY COFFEE, (NO decaf), OJ, AND MUFFINS. HAD TO TAKE BACK TO THE ROOM, NO PLACE TO EAT IN 8x8 LOBBY. NO PRINTER AVAILABLE EXCEPT TO PRINT BOARD PASSES. NO ELEVATOR, BUT WAS ONLY TWO STORES. DID HAVE MICROWAVE BUT NO REFRIG. NO COFFE POT IN ROOM. WAS OVER PRICED!!
Shower would go hot and cold and there was no place to put soap or shampoo
loved the weekend..
Location and friendliness of the staff.
Nice neighborhood, close to restaurants within walking distance. Free parking was a plus. Would stay there again
Location. Staff were great.
Non-functional lamps. Noisey with windows open. No AC.
Staffs are all very nice. And the hotel is not far from Lombard street.
When I choose this place, I thought it is free parking. But when I checked out, they charged me $38 for two days parking.
The staff were very helpful and friendly
Not all of the lights in the room worked and one was actually hanging off the wall.Breakfast was not included so i paid extra for it and it turned out to be a piece of cake and a muffin disgraceful
Over priced for an average room
This is a good central location to have access to all the touristy things to do in San Francisco. We were able to register early, park our car for free and take advantage of public transportation to navigate the city. The staff was great helping us get around and answered all of our questions with enthusiasm even though they must have answered these same questions a million times before. Free simple continental breakfast included too. I would recommend this as a good place to stay for a family or couple .
It is a typical no-frills motel room. Noisy at night but understand that you are in the heart of a cramped busy city.
Poor value. They jacked up the price over $100 per night because a convention was in town.
Shoddy room furnishings; noisy; bare bones facility
Location near public transportation, restaurants and wallgreen, secure.
Wifi did not work inside the room, so, I needed to go outside and got a severe cold that almost spoiled my trip. Poor breakfast and no space availble to sit, so we needed to take it to our room.
Location is good.walking to many sites is possible and public transportation is very close and convenient.
We were in town during a major convention and this is about all that was available. We paid more for our room than I have paid in 4 star hotels around the world! This is definetly a motel not a hotel or Inn. If you choose to stay here do not have high expectations for anything other than a basic bed in an old fashioned room.
When I got there, the woman at the reception said she'd upgrade my room for free, which I thought was cool. Instead of giving me a card key, she gave me a regular key, and she took me behind the reception bar to a door that gave entry to a very spacious room, with a big bathroom with bathtub. The fact that the door was behind the reception bar was a bit dodgy, but it also had a door to an alley that was open to the street, so I didn't worry too much. However, when I opened the courtains there was no window! It was basically a whole in the wall facing the street (an alley)!!! I went back to reception and asked if they had another room, to which they said "no", and when I said there was no way I was going to sleep in such a room, they offered me a different room in the main part of the hotel. In summary, they tried to trick me, lied to me, and wouldn't even call a taxi for me the next day. Not recommended, avoid like the plague.
Kitchen Nice breeze if the window was open. Good location and clean.
Curtains did not close and you could see thru them. Windows did not lock and no ac. Mattresses had padding. 2 day cancellation. Shower was either to cold or to hot. Missing shower knob on inside of shower door. There was not a great variety of breakfast.
As long as you have proper expectations, this place is great for what it is: A cheap, motel in downtown San Francisco. It's not super fancy, but it's an inexpensive place to crash that provides FREE on site parking, a nice sized flat panel television, and is in close proximity to many of the places you'd likely go while visiting San Francisco.
I personally didn't invest enough time investigating the place. I didn't expect it to be a motel. I was disappointed it did not have air conditioning. But all in all, for the price, it was worth these few concessions.
The location was awesome. Close to the nice neighborhoods, but quiet. Half block off vanness, easy access to transport, fisherman's wharf is walking distance, Lombard street is close, chestnut st, union st.
Cleaning equipment left outside makes a bad impression, light fixture broken and hanging by a thread off the wall, mold in shower, carpet not installed properly made for a large bump in carpert, only shampoo and soap provided. Bring your own conditioner.
lovely staff member who checked us in
condescending staff member who checked us out broken door handles no air-conditioning overpriced for the quality of hospitality overpriced for the location
good location, friendly staff
old style rooms, price
Lovely staff. Big room. Close to a bus stop.
Breakfast was poor
great staff, especially Andrew who was friendly and accommodating from arrival till departure! free parking which is uncommon in SF, saving around $35 a day. In safe location, just a short walk to Fisherman's Wharf (1.5 m, each way)
Just far enough away from busy streets not to get all the noise and just close enough for transportation, dining and sights.
Wifi kept going in and out during stay.
no real breakfast; lights didn't work; broken tile in bathroom
