Grandeur of the hotel lobby Location from the metro to get to/from airport Concierge was entertaining and helpful
Prices for food and drink in the hotel seemed a little pricey No mini-bar in the room (not sure if this was just our room)
Paying for wi fi
Location was great no need for a car to explore the city. Friendly staff and spacious lobby and hallways. Too many elevators. Hotel has 4 entrances one on each side of the block. Classis feel hotel with modern renovation.
The rates were high. No free enternet in the rooms.
My husband and myself absolutely loved the actual property.
Unfortunately, the staff was disappointing. The bellhop and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff that we had interactions with were not friendly at all. They actually seemed put out to help us as guests of the hotel.
Lack of a mini bar or kettle for hot drinks
Very central. Close to metro.
Have to pay for wifi in room.
Historical stylish interior design
no sound proof one night i woke up in the middle of the night twicw coz next door kid was crying u can hear every thing
Extremely small bathroom
We were upgraded to executive level (free hors dourves and cont, breakfast). Great location. Price was ok for the stay. Room was very nice with 2 beds and 2 baths.
Mattresses were dated. Price break would have been nice.
The small room and small bathroom
The rooms and amenities were so well thought out. Plenty of light, comfortable seating and beds, and a functional bathroom... all in beautiful old building with magnificent lobby.
Bed was great and there was no noise from the street so really quit.
My room was quit small and dark so not a lot of daylight.
It was my fiancé's 30th birthday and I supriaes him with a stay at the Palmer House. It was a great location with lots to do in the area! We stayed on the executive level and everything was lovely!
Very beautiful hotel with all amenities in the heart of Chicago. Easy check in and out. Comfortable rooms.
Great location for theaters and Magnificent Mile shopping and restaurants. Room was very comfortable.the only thing I missed was a coffee/tea maker.
No coffee maker.
Staff was fantastic and very friendly. Always there and such friendly faces. Our room was spotless and housekeeping was always there when called upon. If you run into a guy named DJ...great guy! Couldn't have asked for a nicer place. The employees are what really make the atmosphere at The Palmer House for me a memorable experience. It's been a long time since I have seen such a positive group of people.
Our room was nothing like what we had reserved. It was on the small side. Thank goodness we were only sleeping there and decided not to entertain in there, we woulda be in trouble. But, then again you can't win them all.
I expected a very nice hotel, but I was really surprised with the inner beauty of the hotel and its accommodations are the very first line. Congratulations
responsiveness of staff
The fact that there was no fridge or microwave in the room.
We took the train from OHare to Monroe arriving just 2 blocks from the hotel Starbucks staff in the lower lobby were so friendly and speedy it made up for not having coffee pot in the room We upgraded to a room with two bathrooms, had massage at Balance and enjoyed cocktails in the beautiful lobby. All around wonderful experience! And I loved using booking .com to secure my top two picks without a cancellation penalty - perfect way to plan!
great location, good beds
paying for internet, disinterested, uninformed staff, unable to call ahead and speak to a human being, excessive parking rates
Room was small but nice. Good beds. Fantastic foyer.
Employer at the reception messed up our check-in, so we had to check in twice, with twice the waiting. There was also some mold at the shower curtain.
Historical ambience. Great food. Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Ample amenities. Whats not to like!
I can't think of a thing I didn't like. Lovely old hotel.
2nd time our room was "frumpy". Closet smelled musty & room was dated & very small. Room was inexpensive but the experience was also underwhelming. Would not stay here again. 2 times is enough.
