Everything is available--at a price. First class all the way.
No free wifi
small room size, park fees
Loved the staircase, ceilings, general grand appearance of inside.
Bathroom too small and outdated bedroom. Shower floor on tub felt like you could fall through it.
It was my first time, and I would stay there again.
I thought the rooms could have been a little classier for the Palmer House Hilton. The beds and the hotel itself were excellent. Staff was great.
Was very crowded and had to wait in a long line to check in.Room was small and TV was of to side so was very difficult to view tv from the bed
Nice staff Free champagne while waiting to check in Beautiful Lobby Great Christmas Decorations State of the art Spa Very cool bar and good restaurant Fast elevators Nice Pool
Understaffed at check-in, long wait Hot tub needs to be upgraded small bathroom
Checkin process (bell and valet) busted. Room was a closet. Operators too busy and rude.
The staff was very friendly
The toilet paper was not soft
Location Architectural features and history of building Variety of facilities on site Classy place!
No in-room coffee machine. Charge for in-room WI-FI whereas free in lobby. Beer served in brandy snifters vis-à-vis full pint glasses.
The location is excellent and the heated pool could have been great, except it closes way too early and was so filled with small children that it defeated the purpose of a heated pool. Seemed like an adult type relaxation thing but ended up more of a playground. The hot tub may have been cool too but there was a couple getting it on in there so I just let them be. The staff was very friendly though. One maid was great. She went above and beyond and got me coffee and was extra sweet. She walked me to the ice machine and really was just very kind. I forgot her name but she had this small Afro and was a cool lady.
My room was so poorly lit that my initial feeling was a gloomy one. My friends helped me with my bags and felt the same way. It's a great location but the hotel is obviously old, which isn't bad. But the old wallpaper and cheap carpeting makes it feel like 1985 and the dimly lit rooms, which felt haunted gave me the creeps. My lights turned on by themselves when I was sleeping and it really freaked me out. I feel like it may be haunted. Also I could hear conversations of everyone through the wall.
Staff, location, concierge and lounge/bar area
Small bathroom and fair service at Potters
We stayed at the Palmer House for a special celebration of our daughter's golden birthday. We enjoyed the history and beauty of the hotel. The swimming was an added bonus. The staff was tremendous guiding us to great dining and activities!
Large clean room, with excellent facilities and a prime location in the city
This is a beautiful hotel! You really get into the holiday spirit with all of the excellent Christmas decor! The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. We plan to make this a tradition every Christmas season!!
Beautiful, historic hotel close to everything we wanted to do.
The staff was outstanding, the bed was wonderful and the rooms were clean.
After our massage we wanted to use the hot tub but it was full of small children with blow up pool toys. Very disappointing that no time was allotted for adults only...children don't belong in a hot tub for health reasons. Each time thereafter that we wanted to use it, it was again full of kids...
The room was extremely well priced, especially for the location. The restaurant, bar, and spa/pool were all nice amenities.
One older bar tender in particular on Friday night. After waiting for several minutes he finally asked me for my order. After telling me he couldn't make two kinds of shots that I ordered, I made a very simple order and his response was "I'm too busy". My friend asked another bar tender for my original "special" order and she made it right away. I would expect all bartenders to treat customers the same and especially don't expect to be told "I'm too busy".
Everything was just amazing, the staff and the attention makes you feel at home. Perfect
I stayed her for my birthday weekend. Hospitality was refreshing. Every person we came across that worked for the hotel was always ready to help and make us feel as comfortable as possible.
While lying in bed, the we're was a roach crawling on the sheets! Very scary and so unexpected in such a nice place. We wanted to change rooms but they we're all booked. I understand we wede ina a cheaper room but my gosh. To make up for it they gave us free breakfast vouchers & champagne and chocolate strawberries. Kinda evened itself out lol.
Location, ambience, health club
Reception desk service poor. Lifts took an age to arrive. Bar service poor. 13 dollars for a glass of average wine ????? Breakfast line 20 minutes ?????
The whole facility, the bathroom setup, the bed, the location, the Macy's discount coupon, the food, the beauty of the hotel, the friendly staff
Great location to walk to Millennium Park, easy in and out parking right near the hotel.
The room was small and slightly dirty.
The price makes the Palmer House unbeatable. The staff was excellent, the bar/ lounge is a wonderful place to start or end your night, the bed was comfortable, the decor is also excellent.
If you're taller than 6' 2", you may have some trouble with the lower ceilings.
