First time in Chicago didn't know where to stay and everything wS perfect! Thank you
Location, location, location. Good, firm, beds.
The smallish bathrooms have a tiny bath in which to shower. A renovation of the rooms would leave the baths out and just have a more generous shower.
The Palmer House is beautiful and front desk staff were very nice.
I had a terrible nights sleep with a party next door that got out of control and went on to 4 am. Front desk sent security to check on them but never returned after the first time and Inhad to call again at 3:30 am. I think security should go back and check several times when people have loud parties. I was very disappointed for this reason.
THE HOTEL AMMENITIES EVERYTHING I NEEDED WAS THERE . I TRULY ENJOYED MY STAY
Staff was very helpful and recommended places to eat !!
Wifi was terrible so slow
Rep at registration Wadell that made up for inadequacy of bellman also executive floor.
More outdoor bellman Doorman to greet at cars know that when a lady is standing there with luggage help is needed regardless of color. I had to ask twice for assistance and then two bellman we're still socializing
The room and ammenities were nothing like what was described. I was extremely dissatisfied. Location was the only positive thing about the hotel.
The lobby is fantastic! Beautiful and lively.
I absolutely loved the ambiance of the hotel. The staff (front desk) was very friendly and the hotel was very clean. Expect to pay a pretty penny if you're ordering room service e.g. a cheeseburger is like $18 !
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff.
Size and scope of options
The historic view and classic feel.
Never again, I was charged 15$ for a glass of regular wine. The wine was not aged, nor vintage, nor was I informed that the glass was $15. My room also, had chipped and cracked paint on 90% of the bathroom ceiling and 5% of the bed room ceiling. I can truly, say that I will not be staying at the Palmer House again. I will however, use this experience as a case study to my online hospitality course and post on as many web sites, as I can. Cracked paint and over priced wine!
The room had peeling paint, the veneer of the legs on the sink had come off. Rooms were extremely noisy, you can hear everything from the next door room.
Waited forever to drop off car at valet parking. Total chaos. Not first come first serve. Ridiculous line at check in. Staff took to handing out bottled water. Half hour wait to place room service order, followed by hour wait to get food (after midnight when it arrived). On bitter Chicago winter day, waited for valet parking in vestibule where doorman didn't close doors after customers. I took to closing the doors to keep myself and elderly lady waiting at the same time from catching pneumonia.
The pool was heated and the hot tub and the restaurant with the Jazz music and the jewelry store! The hotel was beautiful all together and the staff was very friendly!i would definitely come stay again!
That the pool allowed children because it's more of a adult type area and kids were jumping in the pool so you got water in your eyes! The room was very cold even with the heat on it never really got warm in the room!
How expensive the parking was... 75 for 1 night...
The beautiful design of the architecture and finishes take you back in time
Beautiful building with a beautiful lobby, in the center of Chicago, close to... everything. Possibility to set the temperature in the room according to your needs, especially important during cold weather in early January. Good price in this location.
The climate of the beautiful lobby was spoiled by nightmarish, monotonous club music, which was 'served' non-stop. The atmosphere a bit like at the railway station. Old hotel, so you do not count on a big, modern swimming pool. For us it was obvious, but some guests were disappointed.
The location is excellent! The staff is amazing! The rooms are beautiful! No complaints! Highly recommended!
The trivia questions on elevator-the fitness center was awesome. The room was very nice and clean.
The noise I could hear in my room from next door. Having to pay to use Wifi while in your room
- Beautiful lobby area to get drinks and snacks. - Comfy bed and furniture - Close to Art Institute, all CTA train lines, Union Station. Very easy to get around the city from the hotel.
- No free wifi in the room, but I knew that going in. There was at least a tablet they provided in the room that was able to browse the Internet.
In the heart of downtown. Very beautiful place and comfortable.
A pleasant stay.
I liked that they had baby grand pianos in some of the elevator areas. I sat and played for a little while on the 6th floor. It was one of the highlights of my stay. For those interested, there is one on the third floor too.
The bed could have been just a bit longer for my tall frame.
