Enjoyed our stay. Staff were very nice and even handed us free water at the end of the night.
Rooms were small, rundown and in need of updating.
location is very convenient to walk to the most important sights it was clean reception and lobby area is very nice
wallpapers in our room (9280) were loose and looked very old, carpet the same beds and pillows not very comfortable, stains on bedding huge bathroom was hard to heat, shower curtain did not hold the water back so there was a huge puddle after showering heating not very powerful so it was rather cold in the room for the first hours no coffee maker in the room it was very loud because of the subway rattling all night long, earplugs recommended
Location Lobby historical style
Old room Noisy Very large
Common areas are beautiful and well preserved, especially considering the age of the property. The location is very near Millennium Park and the art museum.
Opulent hotel right in loop. Great value for the money.

The location is excellent, just a block away from the Art Institute. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was impeccable. I will certainly book a room at the Palmer house on my next visit to Chicago!
Size of room, price of room
Superb grand entrance, high painted ceilings. Room was small but newly refurbished, clean, and basically ideal for the purposes of my stay. Thumbs up for the double head shower...!
Staff not knowledgeable about third party booking. I had to prove that I had a daily credit, My credit had very limited places I could use it.
The building has old grand charm so you feel like your walking into a lavish scene from the Titanic. It made for a very nice evening for me and my guest. It is situated near shopping and food downtown, and we were able to hike to the Stadium.
The pool closes at 9pm. This is unfortunate because any children swimming finally leave, so you are excited for a nice swim and relaxing hot tub. Then right away you are removed from the pool. I would be very happy if they extended the hours to accomadate adult swimmers. The signature cocktails at the bar were TOO expensive (~$13/drink). I would have spent more time at the bar (and therefore more money in the long run) if I felt more comfortable with the per drink cost.
Free excellent food View from room (on Mies van der Rohe building) Uncrowded elevator
chlorine in pool limited pool hours
The hotel was located near two metro lines, walking distance of numerous eateries, along with plenty of shopping areas.
The location was excellent.
wifi only in the lobby. We had to pay a daily tax on top of the reservation. Room was very big but the bathroom was small and not that modern. Decoration is a bit old fashion.
Location for me was good as I was traveling to Soldier Field. It is walking distance.
This is a large hotel from a significant brand. There are likely other hotels that offer more value for the same or similar money.

The History is Hott tour was extremely informative and enjoyable! The hotel is opulent, stimulating and comfortable!
Where's the bacon, ham, or sausage in the upgrade breakfast? We were told it was missing because it didn't meet Palmer standards but, for the hefty price of the updated room, I expected a full breakfast---which by my standards includes breakfast meat!
Honors line does not receive differentiated attention and service.
Size of room, and bath.
That U received from booking.com two different version of my reservation the first one which said breakfast included. The second one which I didn't check did not have the breakfast included and the situation lead to discussions with the staff.
Pillow too soft to fall sleep. suggest offer soft and no soft for more choice in case guest need.
Location (accessibility to public transportation); professionalism of personnel; quality of Lockwood breakfast buffet offerings.
The 16.4% occupancy tax.
