Got upgraded to a nice room and we loved the shower !!
The beds had se kind of residue that stains my fleece pajamas and my socks too
Location was fine.
Staff was lame
I liked the location, the bed and the bathroom. The decor. The late night desk person was helpful when I needed to print boarding passes -- the "business center" was unavailable. The parking arrangement was handy. The coffee was pretty good.
Checking in was really unpleasant. The manager watched as I struggled to get my rolling bag through the door and didn't budge to give me a hand. The lobby was barren and view into the construction area was unimpeded. It seemed difficult to check in and the desk person whined a lot about her issues. Once we were in, the hotel was fine and the room was pretty nice. Even though we love historic buildings and hotels, I don't think I can talk my husband into staying there again when we return to town over the next four years.
Size of room and large bathroom
Lobby renovations and difficulty getting from parking lot to lobby after 10 p.m.
Great location, view, and upscale design
Breakfast area is under construction. However there are many good cafes to try next door.
Monday morning: no coffee made, no front desk attendant--- when the substitute person arrived, and we asked for coffee, she made some but, no milk or creamer available. No food available, no bar, 'renovation' activity going on everywhere.
This place is going to be beautiful when it's done. The king studio that we had was absolutely beautiful. The rooms are huge and there was a full size fridge. I was very surprised and I can't wait to go back when the renovations are complete.
We did run out of hot water in the morning.
This place is located right in the middle of this miniature city. It is surrounded by dining and little shopping stores. The proctor theater is also right next to it and often plays good shows. If you do stay there make sure you eat at Jonnys. It is right accross the street and has the best Italian food I've ever had. Everything is homemade, the cheese, the pasta the sauce, everything!! The room was huge and very clean. I look forward to when they finish renovating the bar into a resteraunts/lounge.
I only wish they had a better TV. The little 27" tube television sitting accross a spacious room is not ideal.
Rooms were nice, shower was excellent and the location could not be beat. The front desk staff was helpful. Expecially liked the list of past patrons everyone from Barbra Streisand to the Harlem globetrotters.
Rooms are a bit small. Walls are kind of thin if there is noise to be made you will hear it. My last night there was a band across the street down below, from the seventh floor you could hear it all
Charming atmosphere, huge bathroom, nice location, friendly staff.
Restaurant currently being renovated, lights out in the stairwell leaving it pitch black
You can hear and smell what is going on in rooms on the same floor.
