The location on the beach is hard to beat. The place seemed genuinely friendly with many long term guests, families as well as young couples. Great restaurant although we only ate there once.
The room had some minor issues, drip water from the A/C unit upstairs, some ants, a lot of ambient noise from the stairwell, ice maker and so on. Very minor stuff given the great location. But this is one of these situations where truly attentive service and great staff could have made the difference. Unfortunately, some of the staff seemed a bit curt and just seemed to be doung their jobs, in particular at the front desk. Management was nowhere to be seen, and for example they did not announce to guests that a lengthy fire alarm drill and the next day major work to the trees and greenery would be disturbances. Parking was costly and extra. No free water or free anything in sight. At the price we paid and given the shortcomings in the physical product we would have appreciated more thoroughly trained staff.
Room was in the garden but patio was facing the beach. Very close to everything but far enough away from everything.
Wife go stung by jellyfish on their beach. Other than that it was a wonderful stay.
Pool was nice. Beach staff was very helpful.
Small beach with a lot of jelly fish. A bit over priced for what you receive.
The hotel room was beautiful and clean. It has a warm inviting feel when you walk in. We also love the grounds. It's like walking through a tropical garden. The fact that there is a private beach and a swimming pool are the the main reason we stay here!
The proximity to the pier and Duval street.
Everything else !
Location, Charter Bar, private beach
The hotel is perfectly located close to all the tourist attractions, great restaurants and nightlife. It has beautiful facilities with very comfortable rooms, great pool and above all a GREAT private beach!
Location is good on very lively Duval street, rooms are big and comfortable, we also loved the garden, pool was area was small but ok
Very small beach, dirty sea, no umbrella on beach, air condition in the room was too noisy
Very relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff & beautiful property
Location. We did enjoy the landscaping just not blocking view of beach area from pool.
The shrubs blocking view of water/beach while on pool deck or in pool. Our tv had bad lines/waves on it during our say. Needed music playing in pool area when band not playing
The staff was the best. The facilities were awsome and the room was beyond belief great for the value. Food at restruant was out of this world. We want to get married again and have a second honeymoon at the pier house.
We had to leave.
Location is ideal, junior suite was nicely furnished. Pool and beachside staff were very friendly and extremely attentive.
Price ($434 USD per night over a weekend) was high. No bathrobes, shampoo etc. was not replaced daily, shower faucet was not working properly- called to have it fixed, no action taken. Was charged $20 per day for parking without being informed...this is unreasonable when paying $400+ a night for the room!!!. No bottled water in room, mini-bar empty. food at pool side restaurant was mediocre. Stayed in Spa building - carpets worn and appeared a little dirty.
Just everything ! Location is superb. Private beach is beautiful clean and had an amazing cabana boy named Dima who just couldn't do enough for his customers and made the stay more enjoyable. Reception staff were spot on. Great food in all restaurants. Rooms clean and roomy. An abundance of soft quality towels each day ! Great place ! Location is fantastic for day and night activities. Couldn't really fault this hotel. Can't wait to return
Room wasn't always replenished with tea coffee etc and bathroom toiletries and toilet rolls but came as soon as we asked. Fridge was very sour smelling could be due to previous clients spilling milk ? Could do with a deep clean but we didn't really use it. I'm sure it would have been sorted if we needed it.
Excellent live music. Good drinks. Great little bay to swim in. Couldn't have asked for a better location.
The air conditioning is so loud especially when it turns off and on. You can hear the noise in the hallways
It was all good
I did not get the room I though i was booking
staff, cleanliness, comfort, location. amazing
drunk people banging on doors in the night
Good location, close to Mallory Square and right on Duval Street. Nice beach and beach attendants were very nice. Pool was a little small but nice. Grounds are very tropical. Great shower in bathroom. Always had ice water for guests in lobby, pool and beach area.
Room was small for the price and a little worn. Bathroom was ok with some mold around shower floor. First day our room was not serviced and I had to call for fresh towels. Air conditioner very loud in room. Beds were not queen size as described, were full size. Room could have used a small table and chair.
Just about everything Big bed
Parking fee Not the best shower Loud air conditioning
Fourth time staying here, excellent experience once again.
The staff accommodated us without question when we complained the room was very dark and in a noisy corner next to the laundry, moving us to a nicer room in a higher floor. They moved everything for us. Front desk staff was always pleasant and helpful, restaurant and beach staff also accommodated any request.
the first room we were put in was not very nice, very dark and positioned next to laundry/housekeeping area which was very noisy. This was a handicapped access room, which means that wheelchair bound guests get the worst room. I work with people with disabilities and find that the Pier House could do better than that for them.
Having traveled a fair bit over the years I can report that I now expect disappointment as the norm. I’ve been conditioned by endless stays in paper-thin rooms with clogged plumbing, poor staffing, foul odors and inattentive staff while these places claim to be luxury hotels and resorts. Seems the only luxury offered would be their pricing. It is the rare exception that my expectations are met and even more rare that they are exceeded. This, however, was the case during my recent visit to the Pier House in Key West. From the moment we drove onto the property at One Duval Street, I felt we were in for something special. The grounds are magnificently manicured and exude that romantic, tropical ambience you only dream about. The attendant at the gate has a watchful eye and makes certain only those on the registration list are allowed to enter. The bell staff, captained by the bright and friendly Oleg from Latvia is quick to open the door and to offer you fresh chilled water. A ready smile and determined purpose to his step and you know you’re in the right hands. We arrived early and our room wasn’t quite ready so we explored the grounds and nearby area. Sitting at the pool bar you felt as though you were a million miles away from any worry. The Pier House’s small private beach and the sparkling pool were only steps away. When we arrived in our room we were ecstatic over both the room and the view from our garden view balcony. Bright, airy and crisp best describe where we would live for the next couple of days. Aside from the peaceful tranquility and beautiful surroundings of the Pier House are the highly competent staff of the property including the aforementioned Oleg, Janine who runs the pool bar and the ladies at the front desk but mostly the very capable and friendly Tony Mendez. Tony’s card states he is the Night Manager but he appears to be there 24/7. Tony Mendez is the magician who can pull rabbits out of his hat at a moment’s notice.
people were great.
spa very small. needs larger facilities.
Very good location. Liked the atmosphere. Rooms were very nice and comfortable.
Wished there was a microwave in the room.
