The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I asked them to make a sign for our door to greet my boyfriend "Happy Birthday" and it came out perfectly. Everything was nice and clean and it was gorgeous inside even though the building is older.
Again I'm sure it's because the building was older, but there were alot of creaks and noises in the night that kept waking us up. Other than that the stay was perfect.
The owners were very accommodating.
The detailing in the rooms was a bit shoddy.
No restaurant or bar as advertised
The decor; the fireplace.
I found the hotel a little cool for my taste - my room was hard to keep warm,
Location, charming old hotel
Mildewed bathroom, no elevator and about twenty stairs to enter, very noisy. Poorly maintained.
I enjoyed everything offered at the pines. Staff was wonderful and my accommodations were extremely comfortable.
The coffee in the morning tasted old or instant.
Great and helpful staff Large and clean room Comfortable beds
Simple but clean and family run so more personable
Door thin with basic lock.
Owners are wonderful, pleasant and knowledgeable. Nice Great Room Old World Charm Comfortable beds Fantastic location & Lake Placid experience
Rooms are on the small side
What a great place for a ghost story. I loved the old time feel and the location made for a leisurely walk into town. The temperpedic beds were very comfortable.
Could have been cleaner. The sheets and pillow cases had hair and dirt on them and the hard floors needed regular sweeping. Don't look under the beds. Eek! Not crazy about the pillows.
The elegant environment- room was clean- service was fantastic- the environment made things feel homey and not so commercialized like some hotels.
That we could not stay longer!
from the lovely blankets and tempra pedic mattress, everything was in top shape and pleasant. A quality restoration of a grand old lady. We couldn't believe how quiet it was at night. A truly delightful visit.
The hotel needs an elevator for guests to utilize its higher floors. Heavy suitcases can be prohibitive for older guests on the tall staircases.
the location is good. The front desk was helpful locating suitable dinner locations.
There was a 12 step stairway to enter the Inn. No elevators, no ice machines, old small televisions, no channel guides or information, no restaurant till saturday evening. Filthy window sills dead bugs etc. I would not recommend this to a friend
Location and lobby.
Had housekeeping issue and staff suggested we leave versus change linens. It got worked out and they apologized. Cute place but the incident was upsetting and put a bit of a damper on the whole weekend.
location, clean, had basic amenities
no elevator which we did know about in advance though, no hair dryer in bathroom, no refrigerator,
The inn is cozy and adorable. The owner Jill was incredibly nice and helpful. It's in a great location.
The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer.
Cheap Friendly staff Convenient location Quaint
Would have liked a table and or a desk in the room.
Stairs very hard for my husband
Nice old hotel. Bikes are not allowed in the hotel, but they provide an accessible room in the basement. Good value for the price. I would stay there again.
A little dated. There was no elevator, and the restaurant was open only on weekends.
Room and Overall Experience. And being bitten by SPIDERS.
Old abd rustic. felt like you step back in time. Staff was friendy and helpful making our stay enjoyable. Thanks!
Not enough towels in bathroom. Hear others in their rooms.
comfortable bed, open windows, polite front desk.
No ice machines; no refrigeration available to store hiking food, so few amenities.
The old world charm....I liked the German garb staff wore during German night.
The tv in room was 10 inches!!
Staff friendly. Nice lobby/drawing room. Old style hotel rooms nicely furnished.
Need an elevator. Seniors can't haul luggage up 24 stairs to the first level. one waste basket in room which wasn't emptied after first night.
