The three bedrooms were nice as I am a grandma traveling with three grandchildren, two girls ages 15 and 14, and a grandson age 17. Also having a place where we had a kitchen and could cook to save money was nice.
First, we arrived at the business, The Pink Polka Dott at 3:50pm, and it was closed. Fortunately, I had an e-mail with directions to finding the "house" which is actually attached to the back of the business. The house was very cold. I couldn't find a thermostat-- just portable heaters, one for downstairs and two for upstairs. When we hooked up the heaters upstairs in the bedrooms, it blew a fuse. We couldn't find the fuse box. The Dish tv wasn't working either, even before the fuse blew. At 5pm I tried calling the one phone number given to reach the owner and only got the answering machine. We were getting colder and colder, tried calling several more times, tried her cell phone which I happened to find only because of calling her when making the reservations. She finally called back around 9:30pm. There is a thermostat, but it is in the business which is locked. It was turned down to 55 degrees. Of course it is an old business/house built around 1900 so no direct heat upstairs. We were told where the fuse box was. Trying to use the heaters blew the fuse several times before we figured what could be plugged in at one time on that particular circuit. The owner never contacted us again. We were there two nights, and she never called to see if we were all right. When I got ready to wash our clothes on our last night, I opened the washer, and it was full of wet clothes--bedding and towels. I opened the dryer to put in the wet clothes, and it was full of bedding and towels that were not dry either!! So, I spent a good deal of time drying and folding the sheets and towels. The dryer took several times to get them dry even after sorting by weight. Luckily we had only one load to wash/dry. I was up until midnight and still had clothes drying when I went to bed! Needless to say, I was not impressed and cannot recommend this place!!
I thought the place was adorable and very unique. My husband and I got the back bedroom which was great--window opened for fresh air, was quiet. The house was big. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of towels. Very comfortable.
Neither TV worked properly. Big front bedroom upstairs was "stuffy"--window did not open. Noisy with truck traffic out window. Needed light for patio (which lead to the only door into the building--very dark with no light). Was glad to be warned in advance that we park in a back alley and are beside a mechanic shop.
especially nice place to stay, feels like home. Very nice People in panguitch.
This is our favorite spot to stay! Great place, great location, great owner!!! We will stay here again!
We loved that this was located close to many things we wanted to see and do and we felt at home.
Great location. Nice ammenities. Feels like home. Full kitchen and two baths.
One of the beds is a short bed which is not mentioned in ad and won't fit an adult.
Certainly roomy in a cramped, fairly run-down way, being perched behind a decrepit and inactive storefront. Full kitchen and laundry certainly a plus.
Tv did not work due to "total loss of signal," which the owner -- who remained totally unreachable by telephone due to full voicemail box, even after I emailed him about that -- did not seem to be concerned about. Also the patio, billed as having "city views," actually faces only into an alleyway. Visibility out of the house in general is quite non-existent, in fact. Lastly, the owner hits you with an exorbitant, hidden $40 cleaning fee, which certainly jacks the overall rate beyond what was already a questionable one for the given nature and condition of the premises.
