Honestly, not much. The thing that upset me the most was that there was a hair in the sink when I came in. It made me wonder if they had cleaned the room properly. Also, service is not the best by a long way and it feels really impersonal. My room - which was 880$/night - had two small windows that barely let any natural light inside. The view was also horrible (directly on another building). When you are in the room - you feel like a prisoner .Even on sunny day there isn`t sun at all.... Also, I have no problem with tipping and I am a great tipper. But one thing that annoyed me is that your luggage is literally handled by three different people from the moment you step out from the car and they all let you know very clearly that they won't see you again so you should tip them now because they are not the ones who will bring your luggage to your room. Also, a bellman expected a tip for literally speaking to me for a few seconds. He didn't do anything for me and he went to the extent of saying 'Thank you" twice, the second time with a raised voice, as we went our separate ways. Why should I tip him for talking to me? He was also very very rude to my car driver and also called the other person bringing my luggage "idiot" when he failed to bring one of my luggage pieces. I have never experienced such disgusting behaviour at a hotel of this caliber. Very noisy lobby and they leave your luggage on the side when you get there, only protected by a rope. Anyone could walk in and get your luggage and leave with it. I was honestly shocked by this! Everything takes forever - when it was time to depart, it literally took 40 minutes before a bellman got to my room to get my luggage. Same wait time to get ice or anything else.

The genuine concern of the staff after we arrived to find that my wallet had been stolen on route. Nothing was too much trouble. Upgraded room was so comfortable and clean. All the staff we met, were very professional. We will stay again. The price of drinks and food etc. This would not stop us from coming back.

EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! I would definitely come back many times over. LOVED the high Tea and REALLY loved that food court. And I live in SF where reasonably good food abounds! I just had a really fantastic experience. Just as good as The Ritz, but bigger!!!!

The most excite thing we listen about the plaza is that it's in front of the Central Plaza and the opportunity to see a beautiful view. But if you are not in a room with the central park view, you cannot see it, so the plaza should have one common area for all guest, as a restaurante or something in any higher floor... So that every guest would be able to see the beautiful view.

Room was perfection! Beautfully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was also beautifully decorated and spacious. Even without a good view (I was on the tenth floor facing a large dark office building) I enjoyed the room so much I almost had to force myself to leave. The Basement level food hall was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast at the Palm Court was disappointing. I have eaten at other Fairmont properties and found the food to be much better.

The room/suite was amazing, the view of central park from our 19th floor suite was astonishing, everyone was concerned with your day-to-day ongoings and you were always met with a smile. I tipped every man and his dog when I was staying in the Plaza, but one thing that annoyed me was a bellman who expected a tip off me for literally speaking to me for 10 seconds (no exaggeration). He went to the extent of saying 'Thankyou' twice, with the second time being in a raised voice, as we went our separate ways. The guys I did tip, did something for me.

It is the epitome of luxury. The fixtures fittings and bed linens are all the best of e best. We had to lowest category of room and asked for central park views on a high floor if possible for this room category. They didn't disappoint (room 1638)- yes it is impossible to get a true park view from these room types because they are in the centre of the building we did have a view between the buildings to the park and city skyline. The room was whisper quiet- you wouldnt have known you were in new york if you didnt look out the window. My tip is to join the fairmont presidents club and include this in your booking details. You get complimentary wifi, daily newpaper and free local calls. You also get their special rates sent to you regularly at any of their properties. We didnt do the high tea at the palm court but did do breakfast one morning. The food was delightful but the service was terrible- in a country where they pride themselves on service and expect a gratuity for it we really lucked out with our server. It took 20 minutes for her to get our drink order wrong and acknowledge our food order- which was just that we wanted the continental breakfast buffet. She had no knowledge of their loose leaf tea selection when I questioned if they had peppermint tea (when I got served english breakfast after ordering a peppermint tea!)- how do you get hired in a 5 star hotel without knowing what is on offer? After waiting for a further 15 minutes after finishing our meal for her to even present herself on the floor we ended up going to hostess and asking if we could just charge the meal to our room because our server was taking too long for us to wait to even ask for the bill- which she obliged- the whole time our server did not make an appearance on the floor. Breakfast in a 5 star hotel should be perfect, efficient and seamless to get you in and out on your way for the day. The service in the Palm court at breakfast time

i loved everything, everyone. the place is really like leaving in a dream where you are pampered and making you feel like a prince or vip. At check-in i was told that my room was upgraded to a deluxe suite and that made already my day, when i arrived in my room and opened the door: my jaw dropped and didnt close for about 1o minutes while i was admiring the luxuory and beauty of my suite. golden taps, powerful shower, big comfy goose feathers pillows, big comfy bed, lovely view etc. i also had drinks in the Fabulous bar in 2 occasions while i was staying in New York and really loved it the place, the atmosphere and service too. i liked everything from the first second i stepped inside to the last until i left.

Met our expectations and staff at every level was great - no attitude and doorman actually took our bags and walked us half a block to get a cab. At some point they need to decide if first floor is for tourists or (at least some) for hotel guests.

Reputation and design..........ONLY Although. The hotel location at Central Park - it has only 5 rooms facing it..The rest of the rooms are facing street or inner space/ between two walls/ .. When you are in the room - you feel like a prisoner .Even on sunny day there isn`t sun at all...Breakfast is so poooooooor. Especially for vegeterians... And the most important - rooms are overpriced.. We spent there one night instead of one week and run away early morning to a different hotel... ! We had King Deluxe at Plaza- for the same price we did booked 1 b/r suit at Jumeirah Essex House with full front view to Central Park... Sink about it - and take our advise... Enjoy...........
