The Plaza

Over priced- I paid more than $1200 a day - too much even for a suite . Not value for money . Sometimes you pay a lot but you feel you are getting your money's worth . Also over the top (ott) in some of its efforts to convey luxuriousness- both in the Lobby as well as the room itself . Not sophisticated good taste but over done - a little loud. Some of the staff gave the impression of being snooty in the Palm Court

it is a classis in best location in world.

Room was very quiet, could not hear the very busy street noise outside. We rented two rooms, not inexpensive but both were very nice with very nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. Hallways were quiet. Attentive staff, helpful concierge. Bar area was a great area to get drinks and light fare, even with kids. Doorman and porters very helpful with the chaotic scene at the front steps.

The location is great in terms of Central Park and shopping. The hotel allows any and all tourists to enter through the single turnstile door into the lobby which makes for crowds all day long, and though a beautiful Xmas tree was in the lobby, it does not feel special because of the tourist crowds. A private lobby off the left is better, but I would prefer a more private and exclusive lobby for patrons that a tourist attraction. They had no gym to speak of - I guess their spa and regular gym was inoperable. A guest room on the 19th floor was converted to a small gym which worked in a pinch - but don't expect much. The nice rooms and great staff make Plaza worthwhile.

I liked every thing about the Plaza and I will sure stay there again if I visit New York again.

What I didnt like about the Plaza was the fact that they charge high delivery charges when ordering food and beverage from the room service. Tip should be paid on top of that!!

Everything was impeccable, except for one cocktail waiter. We were celebrating our honeymoon and had come to New York having booked a different hotel, which turned out to be a place we could not stay (not safe, dirty, and completely misrepresented). We weren't "dressed" to stay at the Plaza (as far as one would imagine their normal guests dressing) but we were treated so well; only one waiter made us feel like we didn't really belong there. I spent more than I thought I would spend for lodging but it was the perfect perfect honeymoon for us. It turned out perfectly and I doubt we will ever stay anywhere else when we come to New York. I have great appreciation that we were "forced" to stay there.

Just the cocktail waiter who ignored us for a while . . .

The Plaza was everything I expected it to be. It is one of the best Hotels I know in the USA.

I did not appreciate the manner of some guests.

Excelent rooms, service and location.

The whole atmosphere was about luxury and being pampered. The shopping is really close and central park is across the street
