I liked to be in a good position for my travel necessities I liked the kindness of the staff
I didn't really like the tightness of the room, but was my first time in NYC; probably all the hotels are like that
best and most efficient check in and check out. Both this place and Pod51 among cleanest places ever Quiet!!
The shower is strong. More water comes out of the shower than comes down the drain. As a result, wet bathroom floor.
The location, the hotel was worth it-value for money.
I had booked a single room but on arrival I was told this had not been specified and they had allocated me a bunk bed. However this was sorted out.
location, location, location.
The only issue I had is that I arrived around 11 am and there were no rooms ready. There was a host of others waiting as well. The weather was freezing cold, so I had to find a place to lose a few hours (in NY its not difficult, especially that location). I would love valet service but there are car parks nearby
Fabulous location. Steps from Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. The comfortable bed and clean room. The view from my bathroom on 10th floor. The helpful staff. Tiny room but so little time spent in it that it was not an issue. The convenience shop at the corner of Lexington was very ... convenient.
During very cold February days, the room was a freezer every night when I returned (cleaning lady turned off the heat). It warmed quickly but the heating system was very noisy and there was no heat at all in the bathroom. The only negative of the 8-night stay.
Everything worked just as expected.
The shower was like Niagara falls and I had to fiddle under the wash basin to make the water flow manageable
The hotel was very conveniently located and at a reasonable price. Perfect if you are out most of the day sight-seeing.
I stayed at Pod 39 in February 2015 and enjoyed it. From the very cosy room (although small, but that's NYC and for 105 dollars a night, I was not expecting more), the clean bathroom, the nice bath product to the helpful staff and concierge. Thanks !
Location stuff Service the Restaurant next to the hotel
I got upgraded from a Single room to a Full with no extra charge ($156 for 2 nights). The room is very small, just as advertised, but given how little space there is, it was well used (there is storage under the bed, a small desk and a chair). The space is fine for a single person, but would be very tight for a couple. Also, the two people would need to be very comfortable with each other and all the bodily functions, since the bathroom is separated only by a sliding frosted glass door.
The heating system was very loud, causing a head ache. I had to turn the heating off in order to sleep - that's in the middle of February, when the temperature outside was below freezing.
Excellent staff, tidy well designef rooms and great location
Very convenient to have the restaurant, Salvation Taco, next door. It offers good food and good vibe. The rooftop offers a great view of the surrounding area, eventhough it was covered with snow I was able to take some photos from the top.
Too noisy of an overhead heater, all night long. I couldn't sleep tight neither peacefully.
Clean, comfortable and fantastic price for the location! Easily accessable from the train station.
Clean rooms, great location and great value for money. Salvation Taco next door was big added value for us!
Great value for the price and location, free wi-if, comfortable, clean & modern rooms, strong shower pressure and and modern interiors.
The manager Jim L. and the front desk rep (w/piercings) were incompetent and lazy. Service needs to be improved. Would have recommended this to friends had I not been treated horribly.
noisy AC, no coffee maker and microoven
Loved the comfort of the bed, my daughter loved how we each had our own tv, the bathroom showerhead was amazing, loved the doormen - they were sweethearts, and loved how they had bfast downstairs. Great deal for the money, and great location.
I didn't find the people at the front desk overly friendly, they ran out of plain bagels which was a big deal for my nine year old picky eater, thought the room was much smaller than we expected, and the towels were extremely tiny and rough, and barely covered my body. I booked the room at least a month in advance, and asked for a private, high room, and were given a room right across from the vent in the hallway, the cleaning closet, and right next to the elevator. This being said, it wasn't loud at all. It all worked out perfectly!
Facilities are new and nice, air conditioning, shower, safe and free wi-fi included. Great central location next to the Grand Central.
No space for luggage as my big suitcase won't fit in the designated area under the bed.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, very clean.
The room is a little small but has everything you need, no issues.
very clean. good location
Location is near Grand Central Terminal. Easy to get to and a nice base to go around the city. The room is small but it's modern and cozy. It's exactly as it is in the photos. The bed size, length and firmness is perfect for us both. Lights can be dimmed and there are sockets on the bed side table (they are reachable and are enough for charging our phones). There is a temperature controller per room; we found it great that we could set the temperature to our liking. The bathroom is nice too, just beware of the glass doors, bottom 3/4 is frosted (which is good) but they don't seem to close fully. Towels are thin and rough, but they are changed daily. Hairdryer is nice and powerful. Overhead shower is nice, but it was a it tricky to find the perfect temperature - we managed though. Staff is great. Polite and accommodating. Overall, a great stay here. We would likely stay here again when we visit New York again.
A bigger space would be ideal (I can imagine it can get tough if you have 2 sets of luggage with you; we had normal sized bags and it was a bit tricky to make everything fit and look neat). Hopefully the glass door to the toilet would close all the way and there was some sort of ventilation in each bathroom. Towels can be improved, but it was changed everyday.
Liked the location, bed was comfy, good wifi service, reasonably priced
Noisy air conditioning unit, room service did not replace bathroom necessities, reception night staff not particularly friendly or welcoming
Compact yet comfortable. Clean design. Higher rooms have nice view. Nice bar on first floor.
No bottle opener in the room or at front desk. Thin walls, which makes things tough when your queen is next to a bunk room packed with revelers.
Liked the friendly staff and value for the money
Shower was really tiny and kept over flowing. And bathroom door wouldn't atay shut which is uncomfortable when it's sooo close to the bed
