Location - extremely rough area. Didn't feel at all safe. Dirty - sink in bathroom was brown
very smelly rooms locks are installed very poorly - anyone can open them in seconds
Bathrooms, smelly rooms, lack of maintenance
breakfast TV room
no table in room no wash basin dingy room WiFi did not work in room
Staff is nice
- This hotel is in a very dodgy area where you don't really want to walk alone at night! - There's no a/c so you have to sleep with the window open and it's a really noisy area - There's only one shower per floor - I've stayed in many hostel in different place around the world and this one is the worst I've seen
The location is good and the breakfast is very good for the price
The bedroom was not clean when I checked in, the smell was not good, and the wifi didn't work.
Complimentary breakfast Proximity to mission st.
-Comfort room and bath room sharing -flies on hallway -WIFI unavailability
The location, included breakfast, and the price
Bedrooms too small
Nice staff and okay rooms. Close to busses to go into the city.
No towels which would have been nice. The neighborhood is bad especially 6th st. But it's only a 2 min walk through to a nicer part of town or busses. Parking was kind of a hustle.
Location was ok.
Expensive for what it was
It was clean.
It was easy of acces. The staff is nice and friendly. Helpful with directions and suggested cool places to see or try that aren't touristic traps.
We had crackheads everywhere. Felt like zombie land. In the corned there were 3 dealers. It just felt dangerous and ghetto. There are about 25 rooms per floor but only 1 shower ans 3 bathrooms, there's also a bath (the one time i used it it was full of blood and the water was going up the drain). The maids wash the bathroom at 9 am, just at the moment everyone needs them. Breakfast? There's isnt enough for everyone. You'd better wake early.
Very close to Moscone Center, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable price
Neighborhood is a little scary, no room service/cleaning was provided during my stay (for a week)
Dirty room, sheets with hair, bathroom with trash full. Super dangerous area. No recommendable to anyone.
Cheap and friendly staff
Dodgy neighborhood, NO WIFI in room unlike what is said
Too expensive. I paid more than 200 USD per night. What I got was, only one towel, linen and one banana for breakfast. This is completely a hostel quality. The price should be less than 50 USD per night.
Staff does not provide right information about the online reservation and partnering with Booking.com or others. The place is old, the room small, the double bed is the smallest I saw so far! Although it really close to downtown good areas, it is located in a sort of alley that looks awful and made me feel not safe at all. The place was so bad, that we left before end of paid reservation.
The shared kitchen is good - coffee making facilities, toaster & microwave for use.
The location was horrible! The night we arrived there were 2 homeless men sleeping in the front entrance, we even had a man come up to us asking to use our bathroom. When we arrived we were told the hostel was overbooked so we were placed in a tiny room with no TV, single beds and no internet connection. We were not moved to the right room untill 2 nights later. For the price you pay its not worth it, stay somewhere in a safer area.
For the price we got a small, clean room with a shared bathroom. If you need you just need a place to stay at night, we can recommend this hostel. Take the "Grey Line" bus for a hop-on-hop-off tour and be back at daylight :)
The part of Frisco, where the hostel resides is not the best. I won't be outside at night there. Jam was empty, restrooms weren't refilled ans Wifi didn't work.
Close to the city center and most attractions in the city. I asked for a quiet room, but I got really loud room with a view to 6th street. Fortunately, a very nice and professional girl (Angelica) working at the reception solved this problem by offering me another room, which was quiet and comfortable.
Bathrooms need renovation, 6th street with all its attractions - however, if you want to spend most time in the city and you are on the budget, Pontiac hotel is still a good place.
Location is close to Market Street and all Transportation Systems Cheap compared with other hotels
Mold on the ceiling of the showers Breakfast is too skimpy, even for such a Hotel! Coffee, Tea,Butter, maybe jam, Toast, Cereal and Milk Our Room was very loud, this city never sleeps
Just the cordiality of the people from the hotel
.terrible breakfast .many homeless people on the hotel street and there was a gunfire on the day I was there, terrible .the bathroom smelled awfully and it was a little dirty
The continental breakfast was pretty good and the staff were very polite and quick to assist us.
The area seemed pretty run down, and our car was broken into right outside the hotel.
I liked the price of this place. We went from staying on Broadway and Grant at a hotel to this. It was much cheaper here (only 70 a night for two people double room, whereas hotel downtown was 200 a night for two). The bathrooms seem about average for a hostel. They are clean, but a little older. The beds were fine. The rooms had some weird stains on the lamp, but, aside from that, they were ok. The front desk people were fine. We didn't talk to them much at all, but i'm sure they would have been helpful. Parking in the area was 94 for 3 days on 5th and Mission. The hostel is only a few blocks from main areas (Market, Mission) and you can catch transit there to get to the water or anywhere in San Fran. Me and my boyfriend walked mostly, unless it was at night. The area around the hostel is quite sketchy and even moreso at night.
The area was quite sketchy. There were a lot of homeless and mentally ill/drugged out individuals. Would recommend taking a cab later in the evening and avoiding walking in the area. Streets surrounding the area were not clean.
