Score from 420 reviews Very good
The Stuff is very helpful and professional. The coffee at breakfast was perfect.
Rooms are noisy, the shared facilities are cleaned only once during the day, the neighbourhood where the hotel is, is very poor.
Pro: good location, breakfast was OK, with fi was good, ,most of the staff were quite helpful except for one grumpy elderly staff There were several convenience stores which was helpful and a number of eateries nearby
Sleazy neighborhood, lots of homeless people but they don't bother you
Not far from nice areas even though you have to pass true some unsafe blocks
The location was no far from some interesting places on the city but the hotel is located in a very dangerous area. You must be careful about going around at night times.
It's located central to the city. Clean room. Very nice and helpfull staff. Reception is open 24 hours and they arrange transport to the airport.
There are no bathrooms in the room. Thats not a big deal, but there are only 2 shared bathrooms at one floor. To many people for one shower. Also the bed was realy small. The hotel is located in an area with a lot of homeless people. Not theatened, but still...
Cheap. Good Wifi.
Clean and simple homely environment Courteous staff Good complimentary breakfast Rest rooms quite clean
Walking at night safe from 7th street but not 6th street. Lack of intercom service to reception.
Hosting in San Francisco is precious then the cost was honest but the installations are actually very precarious ... the staff is very kind and helpful.
the neighborhood where is located ... depending on the time scares!
Close to Moscone Ctr Everything was clean, just rundown.
Bathrm sink area - very small. Sheets are threadbare. Pillows are flat, just old.
surroundings, hobos on the street
In the worst part of town but safe and a great location close to all the attractions of San Francisco. Free coffee and tea all day and very friendly staff.
When I first got there the sheets and pillows smelled terrible, like something died in there. When I told the receptionist about though he immediately changed the sheets and pillows and fixed the issue.
good location, clean, nice brekfast, friendly stuff, good price
no shower/ restroom/ sink in the room
kitchen opens 24 hours. Employees were friendly.
Doors made a lot all night. You could se smoking from other rooms.it's near by homeless.
You're paying for the location because it is central. Although the neighborhood is a bit crazy, you just have to be extra careful. If you're going to stay in your room the whole day, this isn't the hotel for you. It's really more for tourist who will just sleep in the room at night and do the tourist thing during the day.
It was relatively close to everything
Cigarette burns on the comforter No AC Only one shower per floor Dangerous neighborhood No parking options
I liked the family suite, it was nice and big had its own bathroom, kitchen and bedroom. The room was really clean. We ended up with three bunk beds and if that would have been on the description, I could have invited more people. But it was cool.
I didn't like the fact that outer door was kinda janky like someone had broke in before, we pushed the table against the door at night, I didn't like the neighborhood. It was horrible. But overall because I'm a hard sleeper, I didn't wake up at all through the night. Too many homeless and panhandlers hanging around less than 50ft away.
Hotel and People
Friendly and helpful staff Close to town and metro Beds are clean Free breakfast Price Wifi was good
No AC in the room, broken window that didn't open. The room was uncomfortably hot with no way yo cool down, hard to sleep because of that. Apparently smoking and drug free, but despite that there was someone smoking weed outside our window on the fire escape and on the first night we found 'white powder' on the toilet seat. Location was central but 6th street was a sketchy area at all times of the day, especially after dark. Full of homeless people, drug addicts etc. Insufficient facilities, two toilets and two showers for each floor, led to lines in the morning and evening. Wouldn't stay there again, it was cheap but in retrospect I would have spent the money to stay in a better area.
Nothing at all!
The worst area ever been! Addicts and homeless people everywhere! Nightmare to go out! Been around SF and nowhere is as disgusting as in that area! Hotel has no parking, no bathroom for that price! The closest parking 4 streets further for around $40 for 24h. Couldn't sleep because of noisy area and windows which didn't close fully. Not recommended hotel!
- Location [Central] - Friendly staff
- No parking garage - Many needy and homeless people around at night
Proximity to amenities like transit
Neighborhood is a clear indication of how we have failed as a society to care for our most needful (this is nothing new, of course) The American dream is a nightmare for most!
Good location - near to the Market Street
Neighboorhood is horrible. It is very dangerous at night. I can say nothing nice about this hostel, room was horrible, it smells like urine, room is really dark. And just one shower for one floor (and toilet is inside this room). Entrance is really dirty, breakfast wasn´t good, they had only toast bread, cream cheese and cheerios. That is it. I can´t recommend this. You can definetely find better deal near Union Square.
The location was really close to the metro, BART and street cars, as well as the SOMO which is ideal for Folsom or Dore Alley. The amenities are pretty good as hostels go.
The location is also close to 6th street which has a lot of street people, homeless and panhandlers. They never gave me any trouble - but it certainly made me nervous.
You must walk down a alley like street to get to their entrance where prostitutes congregate, this is the "sketchiest" neighborhood and the worst part of it (even the locals say so). Also heads up, they charge your card before you get there for the full amount...
Noisy street. Filthy sheets, black mould in shower
