It is such a cozy haven with little nooks to hang out and read a book or sit at a fire pit. It is historically fascinating what they have accomplished in transforming the row houses. I hope it inspires others not to abandon existing historical buildings. Loved the hot cookies in the lobby in the evening. The year round heated pool is a huge attraction for me. Not much I didn't like- the walkway behind Porches seems like it could use mulch instead of pebbles - it was steep and slippery.

We've stayed at The Porches many times and have always been impressed by the facility and the friendliness of the staff. The breakfasts are delicious and healthy. Their granola is the best!

The Porches gave us excellent services and facilities in a pleasant and tasteful environment. It made a great base to enjoy walking and cycling in the beautiful countryside, and the cultural and social facilities of North Adams and neighboring towns.

Very large room and bathroom. Comfortable and quiet. Easy walk to museums, restaurants, and other conveniences. Breakfast wasn't anything exciting, but simple and adequate.

It was quirky and unique loved the style and attention to detail and how it had preserved the original style whilst somehow making it comfortable and modern at the same time. The gym was a bit more than the basic you norm get. Would have liked more info about the history of the place.

Beautifully restored historic property Since there is not much in town, it would be really nice if they offered wine/cheese at 5:00 .

Large, nicely furnished room with comfortable bed. Clearly restored older structure that retained the structure and charm, but modernized. Convenient to Mass MoCA, quiet and private.

The decoration is really nice. Good swimming pool. Very good breakfast. The Mass MoCa at the other side of the street is a "must see". Not as quite as hoped.

Everything was perfect. When we opened the door and found the amenities for our dog we knew we were going to have be taken care of. The room, the pool, the breakfast were all superb. Thank you.

Staff was friendly and helpful with every interaction, location was great. Historic renovation of row houses was interesting, and the room and main house was cozy and quaint. Common rooms were inviting, as we're the ample chairs, newspapers, and the lovely cat. Because extant houses were redesigned, there were some quirky things about the place. The main stairway descended into a wall with only a small floor space to pass, and upstairs to give open access and light meant that some windows of the rooms overlooked the hall or open spaces down to the lobby so occasionally there was some noise that carried. This is a small issue,, since guests were also in other entrances, but if you are sensitive to noise ask to be put away from the reception area, or yellow house.

It is a very unusual building--converted row houses--with all the authentic details down to the original doorknobs and muslin curtains hanging from wire strung across the window. No fancy facade at Porches; it depicted true lower middle class rowhouse living with non-refurbished and mismatched antiques.; That's what made it so special; it was "real." However, the things that need to be top notch such as the bath and the bed, were pure luxury! The service was fantastic; the night and day shift actually talk to each other and every detail communicated to a night clerk, was followed through on the next morning by the day shift. Don't expect over-the-top luxury at Porches; expect a touch of class all its own.

The Hotel Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was very spacious and clean. Our room was in the main building. There were several really disturbing noises coming from the kitchen and the heating system, so you should ask for a room in another building!

It was a great location since we came to visit MassMOCA. The staff was exceptional and we enjoyed the free breakfast and NY times. Also loved the decor and the spacious rooms and bath. We didn't like the small and very crowded breakfast room and there were only tables for parties of two.

Location was so perfect, front desk was helpful and having breakfast on site was helpful. Breakfast items were pretty routine, no better than inexpensive hotel chains. Kitchen helpers were pretty chatty in kitchen, a tad loud.

Room temperature was kept as low as 70 F degree which was lower than 72 degree which we normally maintain at our house or at average households in cold days. Hot water never came out in bathroom. Only lukewarm water! They seem gaining more profit in the name of "clean environment" or Green. $180 was very very expensive as compared with others, say, Williams Inn.
