Location! Price was also very reasonable considering the date and location. The bathroom appeared old and outdated.

The location is great Killed a huge cockroach in the room. Kind of a turn off. The staff did not seem too concerned.

Firstly the location is great. You are right at the start of the cable car which you can take over to fisherman's wharf. Room had been updated sympathetically and although not large by US standards, you could definately swing a cat if that was your thing. The free WiFi was good and great for keeping in touch with home and getting those early morning emails off. Don't try and video skype later in the day though. Complimentary continental breakfast is served on a mezzanine floor but this is too small for all the guests staying. Grabbing your coffee and bagel and going back to your room is more sensible.

The location is great. Close to Bart, Union Square, shopping, restaurants, makes it a great spot to stay while in the city. Staff is very gracious and accommodating. We stayed on the Powell side and it does get a bit noisy from about midnight until 2 when the bars close. The price is my only complaint.

The location was perfect. I felt safe walking around the area at night and there was easy access to the BART and MUNI. As a young couple who had never visited a city before I sometimes felt that the staff were condescending and didn't appreciate the business we were providing. Also, there was a significant amount of service charges that were not quoted upon check-in so our stay cost over $200 more than we were expecting. Maybe we just didn't do enough research, but I have traveled quite a bit and have never been charged an occupancy tax or for the tourism improvement district. Just a word of caution for those on a very tight budget.

Very happy with the location right by the cable car turntables and close to bart. It's always great to have a coffeemaker in the room and a free continental breakfast as well. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us located something we accidentally left behind in the room. The tv didn't rotate so it was just a little akward to watch from one side of the bed but we were not there to watch tv so it really was not that much of a problem. The room had been updated but the building is very old so some paint was peeling a bit on the old plaster walls but the charm of being in an old San Francisco building it worth things like that to us.

Location is amazing, right off the BART and the street car is just outside the door. Close to Union Square and shopping. Older hotel, but redone nicely. Rooms can be noisy at night, especially facing the street car.

There is a tea/coffee facility in the room, but it is better to take your favorite tea with you. The room was quite small, like 3x3m, without a table or chair.

Nothing! Actually maybe the location The staff was rude and super unhelpful - I had 15 garment bags to carry to my room and the front desk guy looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for help.. He tried to over charge me for my vehicle... The room was the size of an airplane bathroom... I had no towels.... Worst experience ever and I travel a lot do not stay here!!

One of the best locations in SF, close to Bart station and shopping. Helpful stuff. Happy hour on weekdays. The room with queen bed for two people was so small, there was no place to put the second bag.

The location for the hotel was fantastic on the junction of Powell and Market St. with the end of the cable car route outside the door. My room was very good (after changing see below). Initially my room was like entering a prison cell. Straight into small twin bedded room with a tiny window looking into a well full of pigeons. Also it was like being next door to a disco. Fortunately the staff at the desk immediately gave me another room which was much nicer.
