    - Location, location, location

    - Our room was not cleaned after first night - cover on mattress was very uncomfortable and made noise - building didn't reflect the pictures - room was very small (barely couldn't fit 2 suitcases) - breakfast area way too small

The location was great, and staff very friendly. The room was clean and we were given extra towels upon request. Older facility but with charm.

Rooms could use some updates ....... Full length mirror, ceiling fan, and small refrigerator would be nice.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.

No air conditioning. Rock hard mattresses. Furniture and bathroom fixtures in disrepair. A street performer started singing non-stop right outside our window at the crack of dawn.

Steps away from the Powell street BART Easy walk to Moscone Center Cable car & Bus outside the door Clean Friendly and professional main desk staff

This is a very old, creaky hotel Rooms facing Powell street are noisy It was a busy time of year, and SF hotels gouge on the price because they can.

Good price Amazing location close to everything Very friendly and helpful staff

Very slow and unreliable WiFi Bad sound insulation - cable car, sirens and other city noise was very loud. I needed earplugs to sleep Water pressure in shower is very weak

The location is the best thing about this hotel.

I think all accommodation in San Fran is over priced and this is no exception. It is a very basic hotel - much more so than the lobby insinuates. The rooms are quite old and tired looking. They had plumbing issues and the room was not ready for us when we tried to check in at 2.00am. They then had to call around to find us another hotel whilst we waited in the lobby - they paid for this but all in all it was a bit of a lame experience. The hotel they put us up in (Villa Florence) was much nicer than the Powell - we stayed one night at each. I would recommend Villa Florence over it 100%.

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for one night near Union Square. This was a great value, staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. Our room overlooked the end of the trolley car line which was a little noisy but fun to watch. We have decided that the Powell is perfect for a quick weekend getaway. There is even a small continental breakfast thrown in.

Location at Powell and Market can't be beat - overlooking the cable car turnaround, across the street from Muni/Bart stations and upscale mall. Old world charm. Very pleasant staff, especially Kenny!

Meager continental breakfast. Very small bathrooms - older hotel so space is limited.

Staff was excellent, always went above and beyond to help with an issue. Was upgraded to a suite prior to checking in.

Rooms are a bit small. Had I not been upgraded this would have been a problem.

Great location. Friendly staff Valay parking only

Breakfast, only hot drinks and a very small selection of small muffins, also the breakfast area was very small, only had 3or4 small tables so we had to take are stuff back to the room. Parking. SF is very bad for parking, you can park the car yourself ( if you know were to go) or you can use the valay to park for you, when I got to the hotel, ther was no space outside, so I had to double park, whilst my friend ran in. Also to get your car back you have to wait 20-30 mins so they have time to go get.

The location of the hotel is great, right in the middle of the shopping district.

The hotel is quite old as are the furnishings and lighting fixtures. I could also hear lots of noise from the street.

Staff were courteous, room was clean and nice.

"Breakfast" consisted of a chocolate muffin and regular coffee. Could you at least add some fruit and non-sugary breads?

Excellent location, right at the exit of the BART/metro station. Free drinks monday-thursday and free "breakfast" (muffins/coffee/croissants)

Old building, mold in showers. Wifi wasn't great (slow) but better than nothing.

Very older hotel lacking noise insulation...I was awoken every morning about 4 am by the music played by the cleaners in the neighboring space...

hospitality, location were awesome, bathrooms were nice.

I was disappointed in the breakfast, as I was hoping for just a little more, and space to sit and enjoy. Also, I didn't realize that the hotel was so old, as the photos made it appear more modern.

    Location, reasonable price

The breakfast was a joke: not enough seating space, and nothing making it an interesting moment for your taste-buds.

When I arrived my room had a water leak so I was put up in a neighboring hotel at no cost and my accommodations for the remainder of my stay were upgraded to a suite with no assertiveness on my part. The staff was very friendly. The location is great for access to the convention center and market street.

There was no refrigerator, the vanity was small and the wi-fi a little slow.
