For older couples you may not like walking up flights of steps to get to your room. Interior of hallways smelled very musty. Room is very small. If you are used to chains like Holiday Inn or La Quinta you will probably want to pass on this. It had more of a boarding house feel to it. Perhaps other rooms were larger but ours was pretty small.
The fact that you could pick up the St. Charles trolly within walking distance was nice. There were several good eating places as well in the neighborhood.

outdoor breakfast when it was 45 degrees Fahrenheit Indoor breakfast was only available first few days
Helpful staff, convenient and Quiet location, and very fair value

Only annoying part was at first finding their office to pick up the keys. It's not entirely self evident, but it's not on site. You have to walk back to Terpisichore St across from the Ace Cleaners and look for their other parking lot. Really close though.
Perfect location, near the St Charles trolley line which gets you to the French Quarter quickly or all the way out to Carrollton. They have free parking and security which made me feel better as I was driving through town and had some things in the car.

Great location to everything. Just short walk to Garden District, the French District, and the Port of New Orleans.

This hotel is close to a tram and it looked and felt like we imagined New Orleans might have been like 'back in the day'.

Light burned out in bathroom ceiling fixture. Requested it be fixed first day. Was not done.
This was our second stay at this property. We liked it the first time, and were just as pleased second time around. Room was clean, quiet, well located. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great--hostess was exceptional. Price was right! We'll be back.

I don't think it was very clear that check in/out is a block away at sister facility.
Just a block from the St. Charles streetcar line which serves the Garden District and goes to the west edge of the French Quarter. It is also close to the excellent WWI I museum near Lee Circle. This has is in charge of the breakfast room and she will take good care of you. Exterior of building has the aura of gentile shabbiness typical of much of New Orleans but the rooms are big and we'll kept. Would gladly stay here again.

No reception at Prytania Oaks. Had to take all the luggage to go check in in related hotel Prytania Park. Very unconvenient. No wifi access. We had to move to the park hotel for wifi access. Hotel room in park hotel smelled very badly. No fresh fruit at breakfast. Would not stay tnere again. Worth spending the extra money to stay in a decent hotel.
Good location in Garden District. Walking distance to business district and Mercedes Benz Dome.

Nothing, all was good
Nice quiet area and not too far from all major places to visit such as French Quarter and with many local bars and restaurants just around the corner and easy walking distance to the streetcar to take you to many places

I got to breakfast at 9:00 and all that was left were bagels and cold waffles. I had a cold waffle and cup of coffee. The remaining days I ate breakfast elsewhere. I also found it a little confusing that you had to check in in one building and stay at another.
The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. Free parking!

After a few days the floor got quite dirty with loads of ants in the bathroom, on the floor and even in The bed, Mosquitos in the room For the last 2 days there was no internet and staff said on day one it would, be fixed next day, it wasn't and they never came back to us or offered a discount or kept us informed Breakfast during the week was in a courtyard in another building across street, no service, no fresh fruit no a/c or cooked food!
Great Location Parking Weekend breakfasts great-weekdays Were not

I have no complaints.
We liked the free parking, the security was good, loved the room and big bathroom, the room temperature was cold. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The trolley car was near to ride. We would stay here again when we come back. It was very quite in our room. The bed was very comfortable.

Lumpy Pillows in room-wished I would have brought my own.
Quiet neighborhood, nice location, short walk to catch the trolley, off road parking, breakfast courtyard.

For what we paid I was not impressed with the room size or quality
We loved staying in the Garden District

Rooms were dirty; we complained and the maid called herself recleaning, but I left tissue in the toilet and it was still there when she finished "cleaning". Mildew in the showers, sink was dirty, hair on the comforter, floor not swept.
Great location and easy check in/out. Very comfortable bed and room.

The last two nights our breakfast room was closed and we had to walk about two and a half blocks to another facility, which was not nearly as pleasant. The service was okay, but several mistakes were made when we registered. We had tried to upgrade to a larger room, but were given the smaller one and notified at 10 pm that we could move. We were too tired at that point and decided to stay in the smaller room.
Good location only two blocks from St. Charles in the Garden District. The first two nights we enjoyed a nice breakfast in a homey dining room across a narrow patio from our room. The woman working there actually made waffles for everyone. Lovely. Wi fi was an easy connection.

Climbing stairs bed post obstructing TV

Outside the window was the airco of the whole building making as much noise as a factory
Location close to the streetcar and good restaurants. Nice neighborhood. Beautiful room.
June 11, 2014
Breakfast is normal continental fare. Its OK. As others have noted check in is at another property but less than a block away. These are little nit-picky things that in no way affected our enjoyment of our stay
Location is great. Many places to eat within very close walking distance. Streetcar stop a block away. Courteous Friendly helpful staff.

Breakfast on the last day in the hotel courtyard, which was a bad location.
Very good located: Close to the St. Charles Trolley and the Highway, in the Garden District. Nice room with a big bathroom.

Loved my front porch!

We had to check in down the street, but that is a small inconvenience when you look at the overall picture. The staff was great, the room was comfortable, clean and inviting....so I can check in and out down the street for that.
Building was beautiful with high ceilings and wood floors. The proximity to Charles Street was great. The staff was very friendly and informative. Miss Liz was a great source of information about New Orleans and made a great breakfast too. Bed was super comfy!!!
