In the National Historic Lower central business district, Baronne Plaza was constructed in 1931 and features the original Art Deco stone and granite facade.
Score from 428 reviews Good
This historic New Orleans hotel is one mile from the French Quarter. The hotel was originally a mansion in the 1890s and its décor features historic furnishings.
Score from 27 reviews Good
In the lower Garden District of New Orleans, this European-style hotel is within one block of the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line. Each unique guest room has free Wi-Fi.
Score from 186 reviews Very good
Nice quiet area and not too far from all major places to visit such as French Quarter and with many local bars and restaurants just around the corner and easy walking distance to the streetcar to take you to many places
Nothing, all was good
The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. Free parking!
I got to breakfast at 9:00 and all that was left were bagels and cold waffles. I had a cold waffle and cup of coffee. The remaining days I ate breakfast elsewhere. I also found it a little confusing that you had to check in in one building and stay at another.
Great Location Parking Weekend breakfasts great-weekdays Were not
After a few days the floor got quite dirty with loads of ants in the bathroom, on the floor and even in The bed, Mosquitos in the room For the last 2 days there was no internet and staff said on day one it would, be fixed next day, it wasn't and they never came back to us or offered a discount or kept us informed Breakfast during the week was in a courtyard in another building across street, no service, no fresh fruit no a/c or cooked food!
We liked the free parking, the security was good, loved the room and big bathroom, the room temperature was cold. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The trolley car was near to ride. We would stay here again when we come back. It was very quite in our room. The bed was very comfortable.
I have no complaints.
Quiet neighborhood, nice location, short walk to catch the trolley, off road parking, breakfast courtyard.
Lumpy Pillows in room-wished I would have brought my own.
We loved staying in the Garden District
For what we paid I was not impressed with the room size or quality
Great location and easy check in/out. Very comfortable bed and room.
Rooms were dirty; we complained and the maid called herself recleaning, but I left tissue in the toilet and it was still there when she finished "cleaning". Mildew in the showers, sink was dirty, hair on the comforter, floor not swept.
Good location only two blocks from St. Charles in the Garden District. The first two nights we enjoyed a nice breakfast in a homey dining room across a narrow patio from our room. The woman working there actually made waffles for everyone. Lovely. Wi fi was an easy connection.
The last two nights our breakfast room was closed and we had to walk about two and a half blocks to another facility, which was not nearly as pleasant. The service was okay, but several mistakes were made when we registered. We had tried to upgrade to a larger room, but were given the smaller one and notified at 10 pm that we could move. We were too tired at that point and decided to stay in the smaller room.
Climbing stairs bed post obstructing TV
Location close to the streetcar and good restaurants. Nice neighborhood. Beautiful room.
Outside the window was the airco of the whole building making as much noise as a factory
Location is great. Many places to eat within very close walking distance. Streetcar stop a block away. Courteous Friendly helpful staff.
Breakfast is normal continental fare. Its OK. As others have noted check in is at another property but less than a block away. These are little nit-picky things that in no way affected our enjoyment of our stay
Very good located: Close to the St. Charles Trolley and the Highway, in the Garden District. Nice room with a big bathroom.
Breakfast on the last day in the hotel courtyard, which was a bad location.
Loved my front porch!
TV too small..
Very nice room (161, with veranda); good location
breakfast was very poor!
Coffee in the courtyard
The AC broke one night, but staff immediately moved us to a better room.
not so much didnt like but girl on reception not overly enthusiastic
Building was beautiful with high ceilings and wood floors. The proximity to Charles Street was great. The staff was very friendly and informative. Miss Liz was a great source of information about New Orleans and made a great breakfast too. Bed was super comfy!!!
We had to check in down the street, but that is a small inconvenience when you look at the overall picture. The staff was great, the room was comfortable, clean and inviting....so I can check in and out down the street for that.
The location is one block away from the trolley line. Trolleys during peak business hours can be very full and will pass you by. The hotel staff were very nice and very helpful.
We were disappointed when we saw this hotel. It is advertised as being in the garden district, but it appears to be on the fringe of the district and is in a less than glamorous area. Although the rooms have apparently been updated, they are very small. The door to our room had a large gap between the door and the jamb and allowed a steady light to pour into the room all night which made for a sleepless night. The staff accommodated us in a different room for the remainder of our stay. There are no elevators and we needed to carry our bags up two flights of stairs. No assistance offered from staff. Breakfast was included with our room and was basic.
We loved the location and how close it was to the trolly line. It was so easy to plan our days by starting out with a hop, skip, and a jump to the trolly stop. The staff was really friendly and the room was nice and clean. This place was perfect for our trip and we will be staying there again!
This was our first vacation together, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The hotel is located between St. Charles and Magazine Streets, both of which have plenty of great restaurant options. The trolley is a block from the hotel, but it's an easy 20-minute walk to the Quarter and all the main attractions. The hotel itself was beautiful and relaxing - we had a spacious room with a balcony. It was the perfect place to come back after a long day of sight-seeing. Would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend it for any traveler!
I liked my room I liked the staff , i got use to the location after a couple of days - couple of great local bars helped.
breakfast very poor - based on the price , having to walk back and forth to the main hotel , taxi service poor - i was late 2 days running , room wasn't cleaned one day ,
The building was great. High ceilings, red oak floors. Clean and quiet. Friendly breakfast staff.
It was a little pricey and the pillows were on the hard side. Other than that, no problems at all.
I do have to say our room was charming and clean.
We had booked another day on the tail end of our trip but decided to cancel the place was just ok. Gal at the check in desk was rude when we checked in.As others have said location was very confusing so you end up shlepping bags about.
The neighborhood; the historic architecture; the comfortable bed. Its proximity to the trolley and interesting shops and restaurants.
The exterior of the building was a bit shabby. Check-in was at the Prytania Hotel, which was a slight inconvenience. The Prytania Hotel was not elegant and was rather dated. Furthermore, the entrance was through a parking lot.
Good location very quiet for sleeping. We went post Mardi gras and found it was easy to get around on the trolleys though they were crowded during"commute" times. The day pass for the trolley is a great value as you can use for busses as well. The B&B was a nice clean quiet place with nice staff, I will recommend it to friends and I would stay here again.
The bed post of the 4 poster bed blocked the TV from one side. The electronic door lock seemed to barely touch the door jamb recess, makes it appear to be less secure than one would like.
