I would recommend this hotel.
Very disappointed in the food in the last 3 years. Used to be above average. Now I would rate it poor.
This historic hotel has charm for days and it is always a joy to keep returning to it.
Needs new carpet in Lions Den, smell not great there
Loved how many seating areas there were, the fireplaces, the shops in the hotel, the eating options in the hotel, the decor that stays true to the origins of the area, and the amazing food. Great updated rooms!
Food was good. Stay was nice. Good service.
No coffee maker in the room. The step in the bathroom to the tub was awful.. Need new windows.. Tavern was to dark to read the Menu..
The staff is the key to the Inn; they're friendly and helpful! The Inn is tres old, but the Rockwell's and the antique collections add a unique touch.
The menu could adapt better to the seasons, say pumpkin pie now. Someone else's hair in the bathroom is always a no-no! And the stuffed furniture could use a good cleaning, or change to leather or furniture covers that could be laundered.
Like a living museum and simon the lobby cat was cool
Bed was too high!
dinning was excellent .staff was all great.
the last room we had was very small. only one chair. bathroom very small. we have been there 3 times in the past 2months and this room was not as good as our other 3 times were
the Room was akin to a prison cell - much too confining and the bed in my room probably would qualify as a Revolutionary Warartifact
If you like shabby chic without the chic; poorly lit spaces; atmospherically cold dining room; average food;dangerous thresholds and floor boards with holes; bathrooms without 'grab handles'. If you like sloppily prepared cocktails served by very poor bar staff; unresponsive management: this may be the hotel for you! This hotel trades on it's repution and is complacent. Waitresses and reception staff caring and efficient.
If you like shabby chic without the chic; poorly lit spaces, where the best lit space is a corridor displaying curtains made by the shop; atmospherically cold dining room; average food;dangerous thresholds and floor boards with holes; bathrooms without 'grab handles' and bedrooms backed by a noisy road: if you like sloppily prepared cocktails served by very poor bar staff; unresponsive management following compliants and three requests to meet and discuss, this may be the hotel for you! This hotel trades on it's reputation and is complacent. Would not revisit.
Food! Pub & entertainment(Travis Chandler) front porch & pool!
tight quarters & small bathroom for the price of a large suite in a 4 star hotel. Although quaint the old gal's starting to look dingy. New carpeting & a paint job are needed.
They have been entertaining guests for over 200 years. They have about got it down pat. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Everything was great! There was nothing not to like.
Red Lion is a wonderful hostelry bursting with character. The meal we had was excellent and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. Wished we could have stayed longer to really see all the hotel had to offer. Would definitely stay again.
Was all good.
Antiques, ambiance, staff was accomodatin.g
Noisy in old parts of the inn, bathroom very small.
The real feel of 19th century artefacts with 21st century style. Wonderful bedroom. Fine food ion the dining room served with class.
Quirky hotel, lots of character, very different from the usual chains. Room comfortable and enjoyed sitting on porch with a drink, watching the world go by and meeting resident cat, Simon.
Some traffic noise in room as located on ground floor corner with main traffic route passing by, including some large trucks.
Service by personnel was excellent, from reception to departure. Surroundings equally were inpressive.
Selection and quality of food lacked, lower expectations on reputation. One meal was found to be well prepared and presented (seafood), however the meat selection was found to be lacking. Staff did an exceptional job trying to satisfy after the food was presented.
The inn is charming. It is very close to the Norman Rockwell museum.
Country Inn full of character
Meals in Main Dining room did not meet expectations for value
Good location. Nice staff. Full of history
Expensive. Not great value for price. No celular reception and poor wi fi
Everything! Told them it was our anniversary when booking and when we arrived there was a bottle of wine and a card from them! The grounds were beautiful! Def got our money's worth...the room was huge!
Busy street so in the a.m. you could hear the noise from the road!
We have known the Inn for many years but never had a chance to stay overnight.
We traveled for 10 days and the Red Lion Inn was 3 times the cost of any other first class property we stayed at.
The only place in the village, where everybody comes along. A good place for a romantic vacation.
Hated my claustrophobic room. No tub.
