The room was awesome and had lots of desired tech features.
In april webooked 3 nights from Aug 25, 26, 27 at the Reeds. Due to an unforeseen work situation, I called on Aug 8 to cancel our stay. However, due to the hotel’s cancellation policy “ the Reeds refused to cancel without charging the 50% of the total room cost". We discussed a compromise situation with Booking.com with the Hotel on the line…we decided to move the reservation to two nights, the 25 and 27 without penalty. This was confirmed in an email from Booking.com. We arrived at the hotel around and was told there was no reservation. After producing proof with the email confirmation, the Reeds confessed to not having the reservation. There was a call made to Booking.com with the typical finger pointing to systems problems ensuing. The best the Reeds could do is offer one night which just happened to be available. We were forced to take the second night at friend’s house. The tone of the manager was not very contrite nor was any reconciliation offer made. The next morning, we tried to make the most of our short time in Stone Harbor and asked if we could check out later than the nominal time of 11AM and the staff agreed, only to get a snarly phone call at around 1120 that we need to clear out the room because another guest was waiting for the room. The check in time is 3PM… While I understand that there can be a mix-up, the hotel’s response was indifferent bordering on unfriendly.
The location was the excellent close to all the attractions the area had to offer, the chauffeur service to and from the beach was a plus and they provide beach chairs and umbrellas, staff was excellent and always happy and helpful when called upon
A little pricier than other hotels in the area but still fairly priced for all type of services you get with your package, in house restaurant was also a little higher but food is top notch

My girlfriend and I were continually delighted by the enormously and genuinely charming and helpful staff -- everyone of them! We found The Reeds tasteful, totally comfortable and with great amenities. We will definitely return and recommend the hotel to others, but only good friends!

I would only recommend the hotel to someone that I knew had a lot of disposable income....I thought the cost was prohibitive. It's a beautiful hotel but I think of it as a "special occasion" place. Also, a couple of things about it (the small space to pull into for parking a strong fishy smell in the stairwell) made me question the price.
The service was excellent from the valet to housekeeping, to room service. Front desk was a little slow, but mostly friendly and very helpful. The place was beautiful, clean and fresh, plus only two blocks from the ocean! And they will shuttle you down and provide beach tags, chairs, towels, and set up your umbrella. They'll even pack you lunch in a cooler for your day at the beach.
They did have some private parties where the pool was closed, but the pool was nothing to write home about anyway (very tiny and not really worth it, the hot tubs were nice though). However, when my husband expressed to the front desk that my son was upset about the pool being closed, they gave us free passes to Island Water Sports! Also the restaurant food was overpriced and bland. Could definitely use a little more seasoning for that price tag!! All in all, great hotel, great service, eat somewhere else.
I went to the Reeds to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my husband and even though due to our work schedules we could only stay 1 night, we had a fabulous time. We both cannot stop raving about the Reeds. We cannot wait to go back again soon. We stayed in a room facing the town and we loved the location because we could access all the amenities within the hotel very easily. Our food at the Water Star Grill was delicious as well as the service. When we told them we were hotel guests we not only were seated within less than 10 minutes but we had a table with a fabulous view of the sunset. It was definitely one of my top 10 birthdays thanks to The Reeds at Shelter Haven.

The hotel has a sophisticated, casual, beach decor that is very beautiful. Especially love the hardwood floors (no carpet). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and beachy with views that are very nice. The location is perfect has you are in the heart of the town. We were only there for one night and it was for business. Therefore, I would not be able to comment on much more. Overall, for the short stay, it was wonderful experience.
It's a little pricey but than again it is high season. Therefore, I guess it should be expected. Parking is an issue.

The location of The Reeds is excellent. Right in the center of the town, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. Someone was always asking if we needed anything. The property itself is beautiful!! It is very beachy, jersey shore feel with a modern touch. The roof garden was beautiful, my husband and I sat downstairs in one of the lounge areas with the fireplace and had drinks, overall we were very pleased with The Reeds, would stay again and recommend the hotel to friends and family.
However, said private parking. Was not it was down two blocks and see had a motorcycle. Also dinner was 1.20 minutes to our table. went back to our room and had next door residents complain about noise at ten o'clock. I complained about the complaint and told management that we just walked to our room. For $300.00 a night we should have been notified about adjoining rooms. They wanted us to switch rooms at eleven o'clock at night. We said no thanks. Comped breakfast for us. Never again. Dinner was great though so was breakfast.

Noisy rooms, or at least noisy Jersey neighbors with crying babies.
Not only did the staff remember us from a visit 3 weeks ago. I had made arrangements with a local florist to bring in flowers and rose petals for the hotel room, and not only did the staff coordinate with the florist to set up, they called and confirmed our arrival time the day before to make sure everything was set before our arrival. The entire hotel is always clean and everything is perfect with the rooms!

The PM desk individual "Rhett" was very personable and assuring as to the welcoming of us and allowing us to just be comfortable. Also, the morning staff was just as hospitable. The room, the bathroom and the bed was very good. We enjoyed the large bed - due that we both toss and turn a lot and we had plenty of room. Our overall experience was very good.
Not that we disliked anything but we had some trouble getting to know the lighting system, on how to turn them on and get them brighter----- after we practiced -- we finally figured the lights out. We also understand the parking issues ---- your location does not allow to have parking at the specific location.
I stayed here overnight and found everything to be quite nice. The prices may be a little much per night but I think it's worth it. I'm willing to pay for the good staff and clean rooms. Food at the SAX was very good as well.
I paid for a "bay view" room, but the way the room is set up, we would see the back of other buildings. We had to get up and look the opposite way to see the bay. Would have been nice to see the view from the bed.
friendliness of staff from the front desk people to the maintenance man. everyone just greeted you with a broad, genuine smile.
The facilities are clean, new and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Everything but the list of didnt likes
We were there on 9-22 for one night on our way to Cape May, bartender not too friendly,more interested in the football games that were on,asked him for special drinks he can make, said we dont have those here.....did care for the way to get luggage out at check in,inconvinent ice machine,otherwise great place and we will be back
