They gave us one night free for the inconvenience.
We were not able to check in until 8:30 and they messed up the reservation . We wanted two queen beds and they said they only had a room with one bed. Suggested that my daughters find another hotel, that was absurd!!!! After we told them that was unacceptable , and insisted , they found two rooms to accommodate all four of us.
Although away from mid town Manhattan, I foind it very easy to get around NYC using the subway which was a short walk from the hotel. The price was almost 1/3 of other hotels, and the view of the Statue of Liberty and the river was very cool.
Service is ok, quick check-in and check-out.
I love Ritz-Carlton, yet this one disappoints me. Compared to other Ritz, this one does not meet the standard of luxurious hotel. The smell in the room is uncomfortable, and there are no refrigerator or mini bar.
- The smell of cigarettes in the bed - No minibar - Staff is not willing to help with simple questions
No mini bar Water Caffe Tea
I literally liked everything!!! Worth every penny!!
The payment method you guys choose to do is very terrible... I wasn't able to use my credit card because you guys double charged me on my credit card and debit.. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
excellent staff, sleeping quality and view
had to pay extra for wlan
The concoerge was bery helpful
If you expect a Ritz Carlton this hotel is not where you want to stay. If it were a Marriott my expectations would have been lower and this review might be more positive. i hated the feel of the hotel. its not luxurious, the decor is uninspiring, and the service is mediocre.
Great ambiance, location, service and views...
Very noisy room with air conditioning unit outside. Staff ok but not attentive for a five star hotel. Very old furnishings could do with redoing. No tea or coffee making facilities in room.
Good location for the Statue of Liberty Friendly staff Comfortable & clean Quiet Breakfast choice and included in the price Harbour view room- worth the extra
No tea / coffee making facilities in the room
If I had to complain about something, it would be the price, but I would definitely stay there again.
Location and high bar prices
When we checked in after a very long day we only had an hour to clean up to head uptown for dinner. No hot water in the shower. I mean ice cold baby! We called front desk they said they would look into it. It took 45 minutes before you could shower. Needless to say we had to rush to make our reservations. We requested a different room and were told there were none. Not so sure that was an honest answer the place did not appear packed. The night before we stayed just around the corner at the Hilton. They had hot water and it was half the cost. The room was smaller but nice.
The Ritz is usually lovely and I always choose to stay there. I love seeing the Statue of Liberty outside my window. Downtown is really coming back.
This time I had requested a king bed and they hadn't booked me one. They had to find one and then put me in a king room that smelled of smoke, had burn marks on the bedside table, stains on the carpet and stains on the ceiling! I asked to be moved. They accommodated me and sent a bottle of wine as an apology. The following trip there I was also put on the top floor with a lovely view.
Had a great time. Loved the location
Kind of pricey
For the price of some of the lesser brands we stayed at a ritz. Lovely location overlooking the statue of liberty. Clean, spacious room. Easy access to subway. Great stay for a picky traveler.
We had asked for two doubles but got a king. They adding a cot but cot ended up being very comfortable.
One of the best place on NYC
The hotel and staff were excellent. I loved having that little suburban feel in Manhattan. Views of the Statue of Liberty were lovely.
Beautiful views, great amenities, attentive staff, wonderful room and facilities. What we have come to expect from RC
Elevators were having problems, so we had to walk. Am sure this was a momentary glitch. Desk was very kind in offering us car service to our next stop!
