AC didnt work
The Sagamore offers beautiful views, fun on the lake and in the pools, a fun rec center and activities for kids such as roasting marshmallows. There was always something to do and the restaurants had good food and gluten free options for our daughter.
The condos need oven mitts and a sharp knife to cut breads and meat, plus more plates. Otherwise, they were nice.
The pool, spa and Pavilion restaurant are top notch
At the outlying lodges, the shuttle service was either very very late or non-existant
Beautiful, picturesque. The staff was so accommodating. Great amenities, like mini-bus rides back and forth from the main hotel. Every aspect of the resort was perfection right down to the most incredible key lime pie and chocolate cake ever!
I like the hotel very much and the Italian restaurant was had really good food.
There is nothing I didn't like however the room decor was dark and old looking.
Classic Old Resort with old world charm. Right on Lake George.
Some parts of the resort the staff was great others very poor. Waited 45 mins. at lake house patio for service that never came and left. Big family resort with lots of kids! if you want a more Adirondack experience go elsewhere. Very overpriced for what you get.
The grounds were beautiful.
The food in every restaurant, except the Grille, was horrible. If you are going to charge more than $15 for a hamburger, it better be good. Every meal we has was terrible.
rec room dining options pools spa suite all the family activities
very expensive some staff were not knowledgable of the area
Room was damp and in need of upgrade. No answer at times when calling front desk. Had to ask to have room made up. Not worth $450/night.
Condo was wonderfully decorated and a very good size.
Had to wait 20 Minutes to check in. Keys to the room did not work, had to wait for security to bring us new keys. Gave us what they called an upgrade, when I asked if the view was as good they told me yes, but it was not. You could only see the lake through mature trees. Could not get the room below 74 degrees, A/C worked very poorly. We were not given any paperwork regarding rules or room service or restaurant menus. we would have ordered room service. Experience not worth the price.
Staff is always so accommodating. The facility is awesome, food is great (several varied restaurants) the views breathtaking, and the spa is offers exceptional services. The near by towns are fun to explore.
I have stayed here on several occasions. This is the first time I stayed in a condo, and it was not up to the cleanness of my other stays in the main hotel.
No movies and no on demand cable
A little over priced during the winter and adding resort fees.
having the room in the middle of nowhere in the winter was exactly what i was looking for. the room was outstanding clean big with all the bells and whistles .
can't really chang it but the proposed price and the price i actually payed was about $100 more.
Loved the gas fireplace in our suite. Beds were extremely comfortable, also.
Didn't realize the suites were not in main building so didn't get to use the pool/jacuzzi.
Beautiful Old Hotel. Beautiful area. Will be back
Large comfortable rooms, beautiful scenery, excellent restaurant with great menu selections that are reasonably priced --- very relaxing atmosphere.
very expensive room rates.
Size if room
How we were accommodated on site to a new room, rather then the original booked and the personal treatment as a guest by each and every individual associated with the hotel.
I liked the location and main building.
Got sick from the food. Not enough staff, esp by pool. Waited too long for food/bev service. Check-in line took 30 minutes. Bell hop took 30 min to help w bags. Pricey.
Main Building was attractive- Greatly enjoyed the complimentary cruise on the Morgan and the outdoor dining at the Pavilion - My wife enjoyed the spa
Congestion & wait at arrival driveway - Guest lodges not marked - stairs at entrance to lodge made it difficult with rolling luggage - lodge too far from main building - Our room décor was dark and depressing and we asked to change but there were no other rooms available - "Lakeview" obstructed by trees - Bedroom closet obstructed by doors - Bathroom sink obstructed by oversize faucet - No towel rack near shower - Waited 15 minutes at bar lounge and was never served-we left for dinner reservation at Club Grill and did not stay for dinner as we did not like the table we were given and experienced resistance when we asked to be seated at another open table - The air conditioning in our room repeatedly woke me each time it started up. Overall, I felt the room rates set a level of expectation that was not met. If I had known I would have been in a dark depressing lodge a quarter mile from the main building, I would have stayed in a much less expensive motel.
The facilities were outstanding and the views were beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and the room we booked through the site lived up to our expectations. The Rec Center and pools were the best part.
There was no meal plan and the food was pricey. Also the kids club does not accept reservations in advance, it is first come and families need to show up super early to take advantage of this offering.
Poolside service was fantastic. The towels were very soft. Great shower.
Stayed in a villa that was too far away from the hotel. When I booked it I thought I was booking the actual hotel. The villa was small, sheets were scratchy, they forgot to clean our room one day. They never vacuumed the kitchen floor. The bathroom sink was small and there wasn't any place to store our toiletries. Way too many spiders around.... Not inside though. The carpet didn't look clean. Although the resort was nice it was not worth the expense at all!
Excellent facilities and setting. Improved service vs last year.
The lakeside view, pool, lounge area, and dock were very appealing. Kudos to the staff! Very courteous, polite, and professional. Its clear that they are strained by management but continue to do a great job serving visitors.
Management changed our room from what we booked online, to a downgrade for the same price as the better room, then lied to us, stating that the room was an upgrade. They did everything they could to try to talk us into staying in the room we didnt book because they gave our room to other guests. We had to get an influential family member involved to contact the property manager before they agreed to reduce the fee for the downgraded room (which had damaged appliances in it, non-working patio lights, and a ceiling fan so dirty you could write your name in it), and promise to move us into what we booked the next day. The following day we had to call three times within a 6 hour period to check the status of the room, only to be told that "it would be ready shortly". They also charged a room deposit fee of $300 twice instead of the 1 time they were supposed to. The Sagamore is ok for a quick getaway but is not worth the cost.
