The resort is beautiful. The facilities were top notch.
The food quality was disappointing.
The resort is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is very helpful, the beds were comfy and the lodge rooms were very spacious with a well-stocked kitchen. The rec center is fantastic for kids of all ages, lots to do - home run derby was a blast! I'd love to visit again in the summer when there is more going on.
There wasn't as much to do in the area during this time of the year as we expected. Most of the businesses in the town of Bolton Landing and Lake George were closed until May, but we managed to occupy ourselves.
WONDERFUL VIEW,ATMOSPHERE,GORGEOUS HOLIDAY DECOR, KITCHEN TOUR,CHEF DEMONSTRATIONS, ALL STAFF WAS FABULOUS. INCREDIBLE GINGERBREAD HOUSE
there was nothing we did not like
The boat trip was excellent. Grounds beautiful
I went to the sagamore with my husband and kids for his 50th birthday. I purposely booked and paid for a king suit that was supposed to be in the main building, lake views and with a fireplace. Instead we were given a tiny basement unit in a remote building with patio doors that didn't close and bathroom door that stuck to the floor. And NO fireplace. Bathroom was TINY. Very very disappointed.
The setting was perfect...on an island in Lake George, surrounded by brilliant fall foliage. The grounds were maintained beautifully. My lodge suite was spacious and lovely with fireplace, large kitchen, and lake view balcony. My accommodations included an hour & a half boat tour of the lake with excellent narration on the area's history. The concierge service was extremely helpful. Housekeeping was impeccable.
There absolutely was nothing not to like!
We liked everything. The staff is excellent .. very friendly and courteous. Food is very good with various venues to have your meal. The location could not be better - right on the lakefront with a fantastic panoramic view. We will definitely return.
food, cleanliness, atmosphere,
Loved the views and food at Bella Vita
Suites too far from main building and facilities
My wife and I went there for our 20th wedding anniversary. The King Suites were sold out but we were able to get a lodge suite with 2 double beds. We were on ground level that turned out to be great because we were just a few steps from the lake. The kitchen, bath and living room were large ... very clean ... it was great!
The biggest disappointment for me was that there was no steam room. After using the gym while my wife used the spa, I was hoping to find a dry or wet sauna or steam room ... nope ... nothing! Very disappointing. Also, my wife had an issue with noise in the spa but the manager addressed it very well to our satisfaction afterwards.
Last minute getaway! My husband and I decided to book a weekend by Lake George and while looking for a place on booking.com came across this location. The pictures on the website doesn't give justice to the beauty of the place. The staff were more than accommodating, I incorrectly made the reservation for the following weekend and the front desk was able to fix the issue. I reverse a lake view suit, however we couldn't see the lake, after talking to the manager, we were immediately moved to a wonderful lake view room.
Unfortunately the check in time is at 3pm, but check out is at 11am. It's unreasonable to pay a room for a day and not be able to use it for at least 24 hours. We had to wait for 2 hours for our room, upon arrival
Scenery provided by the lake and mountains is unbelievable. The grounds including the lakefront, pools, and surrounding nature trail areas are breath taking.Accomodations in our king suite lodge were just the right balance touch between "natural rustic" and "upscale luxury"
Some of the accomodations such as the Pavillion Restaurant are seasonal and were not available during our stay which ended 9/2. Also, the Club Grill (an incredible restaurant) was not open on Monday. Wish they made these limitations more obvious. We cable lost TV cable service during the middle of the US Open Tennis TV coverage....I think this was a Time Warner Cables service issue out the Sagamore's control...however for this tennis addict it was quite a bummer. At $579 per night the cost is very pricey.
Friendly service, shuttle bus quality and timeliness. Grounds immaculate
location and outdoor facilities were great.
We stayed over Labor Day weekend and it appeared that the regular staff were already gone for the season. We had no room service our first day, service at restaurants was lacking and extremely delayed, and overall attentiveness to guests was lacking. We were very disappointed considering how much we paid for the weekend. The staff could do a little more to realize how much per night guests are paying, and give them the added attention, even during the last regular weekend during the summer season.
Weather and vistas
Way too expensive and way overboard for "kids."
AC didnt work
Very nice location on the lake. The main hotel is traditional and beautiful. Pool and marina well done. Staff very cordial. Lots for children to do.
This hotel is so crowded that it seemed like an airport terminal with hoards of fat loud people milling about. While the main hotel is beautiful, most guests (including our party) are sent to motel like lodges far away from the main property; it is very misleading of the hotel not to mention these lodges. For the room rate we paid we certainly did not expect to be in a motel look-alike (and on top of this to pay for breakfast!)
The Sagamore offers beautiful views, fun on the lake and in the pools, a fun rec center and activities for kids such as roasting marshmallows. There was always something to do and the restaurants had good food and gluten free options for our daughter.
The condos need oven mitts and a sharp knife to cut breads and meat, plus more plates. Otherwise, they were nice.
Loved the grounds, just so relaxing and no matter where you sit or stand, it's impossible to have a bad view. We really enjoyed just lounging around, grabbing an amazing lobster roll lunch, sipping drinks on the outside steps in the evening. It feels special.
Unfortunately a few guests in particular were incredibly rude to staff and people around them -- not the hotel's fault obviously, but we saw this from more than one person. On another note, look at your bill if you go through booking.com -- I was charged both at the time of my booking AND upon checkout, so be aware.
The pool, spa and Pavilion restaurant are top notch
At the outlying lodges, the shuttle service was either very very late or non-existant
Beautiful, picturesque. The staff was so accommodating. Great amenities, like mini-bus rides back and forth from the main hotel. Every aspect of the resort was perfection right down to the most incredible key lime pie and chocolate cake ever!
I like the hotel very much and the Italian restaurant was had really good food.
There is nothing I didn't like however the room decor was dark and old looking.
Classic Old Resort with old world charm. Right on Lake George.
Some parts of the resort the staff was great others very poor. Waited 45 mins. at lake house patio for service that never came and left. Big family resort with lots of kids! if you want a more Adirondack experience go elsewhere. Very overpriced for what you get.
The grounds were beautiful.
The food in every restaurant, except the Grille, was horrible. If you are going to charge more than $15 for a hamburger, it better be good. Every meal we has was terrible.
