large clean room with a wonderful light breakfast included ,great location
I like that it was so nicely kept up , it's gonna be out place to stay , when we visit , thank you
We enjoyed the ambience of the old buildings. There was a sense of history without the discomfort of old amenities.
Inevitable downside of historic building us carrying luggage upstairs.
size of room cleanliness breakfast comfort of room ease of wifi location to tourist sites location to excellent restaurants and bars friendliness of staff
The town of Salem was very pretty and charming. The woman in charge of the breakfast worked very hard and was very pleasant, her coffee was good too.The mural in the lobby was nice.
I was so very disappointed to think a business could be so lackadaisical . This placed needs a major cleaning and massive remodel/update. They should really just torch this dump.Unfriendly staff, torn and tattered towels, ripped dirty bathroom rug. Bugs were crawling on the sheet when we woke up (ugh bedbugs!). I videoed them, and also took a lot of pictures of the broken garbage furniture.Filthy carpets, old and dirty couch. The soap in the shower marked shampoo was hand soap. Coffee pot clogged, stirrers they gave you were opened. Nothing was fresh and clean, absolutely no amenities provided.Very thin walls you can hear everything! I didn't feel safe, the lock was basically a bathroom door lock. The front entrance of the Inn had no staff so anyone could walk in off the street and push through your door. I found an empty 6 pack of beer under my bed (cleaning staff?). The bed has deep sink holes in it, flat gross pillows. This place is tired and seems like the establishment themselves have checked out, no one cares about anything. Save your money there is no romance to be had here. It's equivalent to a truck stop-over but very highly priced. I'm not exaggerating, check out the filthy, dusty ripped artificial flowers they stick in the vases upon arrival...it's an insult really. You will be sure to lose money, lose sleep, and be on edge until you leave. Any decent review of the Inn must be from the staff. Stay away!
very dirty, outdated and cheaply furnished, awful beds, not honest in advertising, breakfast was rolls and coffee nothing "real"
love every thing about it the cur wen house this great love that the house had its old charm to it love all the old pieces.
Good position for all attractions
Parking at main hotel 5 bays
Very close to everything. Breakfast was much better than I had expected.
The Inn is beautiful and location is in a nice old neighborhood.
Bathroom door could not close due to being blocked by Kitchen counter. Breakfast was like a Holiday Inn not like a B&B. It was all self serve and not very good.
The location of the Salem Inn is its only good feature. Other than that the entire establishment is lacking in a number of ways.
I was wholly disappointed by my stay at the Salem Inn. Although the location is fine within the town, I found the staff to be very unhelpful and rude. For instance, when I asked for recommendations for nearby places for a late dinner, the staff didn't seem to care & wanted their shift to be over. The quality of the overall establishment was shabby and subpar. I was expecting charming surroundings, but I thought the quality was lacking. The bed we stayed in was uncomfortable, with lumps, which insured a bad nights sleep. The room was dusty and the view was poor. I expected a lot more from my stay, especially for the price it cost.
Location, room, staff, breakfast, building and parking
Only stayed one night
STAFF WAS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE BREAKFAST STAFF WAS VERY GOOD AND BREAKFAST FACILITIES WERE CLEAN
BUY NEW BEDS QUALITY MATTRESSES!!!!!! WE CAME TO SLEEP AND REST NOT TOSS AND TURN. WILL NEVER COME BACK UNLESS YOU GET NEW BEDS. EASY TO USE CLIMATE CONTROLS WOULD BE A PLUS AS WELL.
The decor looked tired. Bed in room given as right next to door and hence noisy. Also a lot of road noise directly outside. No wi-fi in room.
Shabby furniture, very small. Continental breakfast. Located next to a busy road. No parking, had to park away from the hotel.
The room was large, well furnished and comfortable. Salem Inn is downtown and close enough to walk to historical sights, some restaurants and to the trolley. Breakfast was quaint, relaxing and the staff were pleasant.
When we arrived, we had to park on a side street and feed the meter while registering. We were told that we would have to park at least a block away at their other house. When checking out, we had to drag our luggage back to the car at the other facility. Advertising said parking at the Inn. No so for us.
Quaint hotel, our room was very large, excellent bed and good wifi. Free car park at the sister hotel which was only a stone throw away. Pleasant staff and a good continental breakfast provided. Good location for everything you need to see in Salem.
Curtains and some of the bed room soft furnishing were a little shabby and could do with replacing but that was our only complaint.
Location: this was centrally located within walking distance to downtown and my daughter's house.
There was no door knob on the bathroom, which was absolutely unacceptable. There was no elevator and we were on the third floor. The television was too small for the room, the bed was not comfortable, and the noise outside in the middle of the night was not conducive to sleep. The furnishings need to be updated - linens, pillows, mattress. The breakfast was below average, staff was not friendly, toasters were old and not functioning well. This would be my last choice of hotels in Salem when I return.
Location, charming house, very clean, good personal, vert quiet. Good choice to stay in Salem.
Poor wifi connection
Excellent breakfast and cordial atmosphere. Staff could have been more attentive and helpful.
Water temp in shower hard to regulate and air temp in room difficult to control. Bed should be updated.
Nicely renovated character property. Great breakfast
Breakfast was delicious. The family suite was large enough to accommodate my husband and I with our 2 children comfortably.
Wifi was hard to get, we had to go to the lobby area to get connected. The kitchenette was a bit more sparse than I had expected, but we ended up eating out anyway.
I liked the authentic New England feel to the house. The room was very clean, though not very spacious for an up charge for a superior room. However, the bed was very comfy, even though it was only a queen.
I don't think the people who run the facility are clear enough on the website that there a 3 buildings you could be placed in. I'm not sure if u can choose a specific building when booking but I didn't realize I wasn't in the main building until I was checking in. This happened to be a mixed blessing because the main building only had on street parking, which is ridiculous in salem. Another inconvenient issue was that I paid for the continental breakfast but it's only served in dining hall in the main building, a street or two away from the Curwen house in which I was placed. The fact that each house has individual keys is kind of an inconvenience also considering I had to check out before 8 am and could not get into the main building.
the location was great. Leave your car parked in their parking and walk to everything. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was good. Had some strange happenings...lights going on and off. My phone flashing white light even though it was turned off! Fun experience.
Booked at the Salem Inn, we checked in our room was in Curwen House. We had to walk to Salem Inn for breakfast. The mattress was terrible. DC came on sounded like a freight train was going through our room. Complained that we could not not connect to W-five or my lab top in our room. We were told to try in the living room, we still could not connect. My husband asked if there had been complaints about the connections and he was told yes....should you not fix the problem. We were also told we could of changed rooms....this was very strange because when we checked in and wanted to change rooms we were told that all three houses were booked all week?
Helpful people on the desk good location parking provided round the corner. This is a quality place to stay. Son aged 8 liked the accommodation particular the bed and wifi and that easy walking distance to historic sites and places of interest other than just witch related
