Love location, continental breakfast had large variety, rooms upgraded very nicely, clean, great value!!!! We stay here every time we come to SB....2-3x/year.
The pillows are awful! Lumpy, no support!
Room not very well cleaned
Good Location, friendly staff , easy parking. Excellent buffet breakfast .
Air con was too noisy to use throughout the night
We could park right in front of our room; the breakfast was very good; the place was very clean.
The shower head was in a awkward place.
OLD FURNITURE NO BATHROOMS ON SITE OTHER THAN ROOMS
Decent value if booked directly. Recently remodeled. Clean. Friendly staff. Fun 50s style breakfast room Phone charger in room (USB/old iPhone connector)
Walk-ins were getting a much lower price - 100 for a two night Fri/Sat stay. Even with the remodel, the room showed its age. Hard boiled eggs served at breakfast were not good - old? Had one of the few rooms with no landscaping. Just asphalt in front.
We liked the Sandman Inn very well. The first night we did not liked our room, but the next day we were offered a good room near the swimming pool. The personel was very helpfull. At the end we forget some items in our room, among them a drivers licence in a wallet. The housekeeping found our stuff. It was all send to the Netherlands. Thanks to the personel. Good service. Good shops in the shopping mall, nearby, also good cheap restaurants at walking distance. The cosy center of Santa Barbara not to far away.
We missed a safe locker in our room to store valueable items.
Staff was very helpful. The grounds were very nice
Bathroom outdated, need a little refreshing.
the atmosphere and the 50s feel. Plus the pools.
The room for breakfast is too small.
A roof over our heads
Size of room (super small) Old room flat carpet and dirt and glass on floor along wall edge carpet didn't fully reach wall in corners and saw padding smelly faucet water unfriendly staff at front desk
The location was quite good, close to a few restaurants and fast food. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly.
The room appeared quite old, especially the bathroom. The bath tub had stains on the bottom that appeared to be build up over years of usage. The shower head looked like a pipe that the water came out of, not a normal shower head, so that also left something to be desired. The wifi was absolutely non-existent which was really annoying and I ended up having to just use my phone's 4g.
Fair price and good location on Highway One travels.
Nice facility, close to shops and resturants.
I wish the coffee pot made coffee for two instead of one, no second pack, only decaf.
Location was good
It felt like a cheap run down hotel. There was a really bad smell through out the facilities & bugs in the room.
Close to boardwalk and beach access. 15 min walk and you are on the boardwalk/beach.
Neighbors behind the hotel very loud. Hotel is pricey and accommodations adequate. Caters to a younger hotel crowd, so loud party types. Location perfect for boardwalk and beach access....decent place to stay in a pinch. But if have time to research I'm sure a cheaper hotel with the same accommodation in the same area is out there. Once we got here I saw at least 5 other hotels all within 1-2 blocks from this hotel. Overall price vs accommodations was the main issue for me.....though accommodation weren't that bad, def not worth the price
Modern, clean rooms. Excellent free breakfast that we weren't expecting as not stated on Booking.com spec. There was a huge variety of food and it was constantly replenished. Good clean swimming pools and useful laundry rooms.Good wi-fi. 5 minutes by car to the heart of SB.
Rooms updated- showers/ tiling have not!
The room was clean and nice. The breakfast was very good.
The breakfast, the choice of 2 pools and the complimentary coffee.
Great location, price is good for the area. Walking distance for places to eat. Rudys mexican very good even though doesn't look like much from outside. Denny's close by.The pool area is very good, staff is excellent. Room was great but not 5 star. I would go back again. This town is totally overpriced for rooms but you have no choice. The grounds are well kept, carpet could of been newer but ok. Ikea furniture. Was good enough for our needs.good value for the money, close to everything
Amazing motel! Great pools, good coffee and tea facilities, nice breakfast, good laundry facilities, nice room and shower.
Wifi did not work and the bed could have been made a bit better.
Location is easy to find and located in the central area within distance to downtown Santa Barbara and La Cumbre Shopping Mall and the beach
For $216 per night I was expecting the facility to be a little bit more decent. The room was small, bathroom was old with semi chipped paint on the wall, toilet had dirty stains in the toilet bowl, there was no sink counter to put your essentials like make-ups and brushes. Our breakfast was self served and cold, you have to heat up with the microwave and it was not cheap since it was included with the room rate (it wasn't free). I had better continental breakfast at other hotels with cheaper room rate. On our first day when my friend and I checked in our room keys wasn't working properly. We had to called the front desk to re-activate them again in order for them to work. Then on the next day we got up early and left our room at 9:30am to go downstairs to have breakfast (not knowing it was self serve with cold bagels, waffles, cereals, hard boiled eggs) we had left a sign on the door slot for "house keeping" to clean our room. When we came back around 6:30pm our room was still not made up yet (it was the same as we left in the morning....shake my head). I called the front desk and asked them why we didn't get house keeping and the staff personnel said they did pass by our room but thought our sign said "Privacy Please" and didn't bother to ask. I was very disappointed with the entire stay at Sandman Inn. I don't feel comfortable recommending this place to anybody since I had a bad experience even though the staff was nice and courteous when we asked for help or have any questions regarding where to go have fun while staying at Santa Barbara.
Breakfast at Al's diner was great. Tables cleared quickly and donuts restocked amply. Great start to the day. Super comfy bed and spacious room. Fantastic value for money compared to other hotels we stayed at on our drive down PCH.
Quite a way out of town. I think it would be a bit far to walk. But the drive down las palmas rd through hope ranch to the coast was really pretty.
Walking distance to a few restaurants and bars. That was it.
The rude staff! The Ants! I went to lay down and felt something crawling on my arm, and when I look down I see an ant... and then to look onto my pillow and see four more ants! And under the duvet another two! Unbelievable! I then told the staff at the main desk, all she said was "sorry about that I'll put you in another room". Bearing in mind she had a smile on her face as she was saying this, and didn't look shocked at all making me think this is a common occurrence. Disgusting!
